What's baffling about it? I love this story. If you asked for something amazing and you got it, wow, look at the way you got it!

Did you notice, by the way, what the times were? It stopped at one point, started again with a dead battery, and stopped again, right?

Was anyone present when it started or stopped, is what I'm asking?

What time does it read now?

There may be something about the actual times which could be part of a message too. More layers to the experience, I mean.

It sounds like a sign that your Mother herself may be letting you know she is OK or  'someone' (guides etc...) is letting you know she is OK and showing you first hand that there is more to reality 'out' there than you may believe. Ask more questions and you shall receive :-)
Thanks for sharing.

I would say to notice what's on the radio and what other people are saying around you in restaurants and stuff it can be very fulfilling in the signs that it gives us.

The Radio words are only for you, you are the only listener no matter how "reality" may feel.

Good Story and best of luck on your quest.

yours AnA,
Beau

Hi Joe,

What I'm learning from my own experiences is that you should accept this as a sign and don't waste time questioning it.  Accept that you communicated with your mother by asking her for a sign, and that she communicated with you by giving you that sign.  Accept that a dead clock began working and that you (and your wife) noticed it.  If you accept this sequence of events as being a sign, then you are beginning to open yourself up to more ability to communicate this way, and new ways will find a way to become part of the process.

One way you could prove to yourself that the clock was associated to you asking for a sign, is to notice how soon after you asked did the clock begin working?  Can you remember what you were thinking, feeling, and doing at the moment you decided to communicate with your mother?  In other words, was there a specific feeling associated with this moment?  Did you perhaps have a question on your mind about your mother?

And at the moment you noticed the clock to begin working, what were you thinking, feeling, and doing then?  Is there something specific about that?  And is it anything that you can associate to what you were doing or feeling when you asked for a sign?

What I'm learning about all of this, is that the phenomenon of the dead clock working isn't what's important, but what is important is that it got your attention.  Sometimes our thoughts flow through us so fast we never pay much attention to a process they make.  Signs can be a way of guiding us to notice the process of our thoughts, and leading us to an answer about something we're wondering.

A simple example might be this.  Let's say that when you asked for the sign, you were wondering if your mother is happy where she is.  Maybe you wonder this all the time or maybe you were just wondering it at that one moment.  Even if you had no specific reason for wanting a sign, it could be that the sign was given to you as a way to bring your attention back to your wondering if she is happy or not.  Noticing the sign (the dead clocking working) is a way for your mom to communicate to you that she got your message.

I find that when we are open to this kind of communication, we usually get more information than what we thought we asked for.  So if there is some feeling or thought that passed through your mind at the time you noticed the clock begin working (or even when you noticed it stop working), then it could be associated to the answer to something you were feeling or wondering when you asked for the sign.

Does that make sense?

Simply put, though, I would assume that getting a sign like this is simply your mom's way of letting you know she got your message and she's answering your request for a sign.  There may not be more to read into it, but I'm finding out through my own experiences that when you learn how to look at the process, you'll find there is more there than what's on the surface.  My belief about this is that once we allow ourselves to be open to guidance and communication, "they" over there take the opportunity to give us a little more than what we asked.  However, it is up to us to notice.

Hello Joe:

I've analyzed thousands of my dreams and found that most of the time they are messages from my spirit friends.

Not only that, for a while, when I wasn't certain, after I'd turn on my night lamp so I could write dream notes, and as I was writing notes, I would see a brilliant point of white light flash on my right hand, this light served the purpose of letting me know that I interpreted a dream symbol correctly (right hand= right/correct).

Sometimes a point of light would flash on a particular word in order to add emphasis. Sometimes I would be shown additional images in order to add to the dream message.

Now that I'm certain that messages can be received through dreams, I no longer see the points of light. They served the purpose of helping me become  certain that dreams can be used to send spirit messages.

Greetings Recoverer.

Sometimes when I get a revelation or idea I'll see a bright point of light or flash in front of me. This happens to me while awake though. Maybe that point of light I see is the guide letting me know that I'm on to getting the message.

The point of light I see is blue colored normally. I used to think of it as a neural misfire or something like that. When I mentioned it to the people that belong to Eckankar when I was a member, they said it was the Eck Master showing himself to me. Now that I no longer follow Eckankar, I still see the light at times. Logic dictates that it was always my guide after all.

Sorry Joe.

I went off topic.

The clock event could very well be a sign. I've had battery powered toys that suddenly came on when I sensed a presence approach of someone in the room.

Ralph:

I've seen spirits appear as a flashing point of light numerous times and they weren't so-called Eck masters. Perhaps the flash you see comes from a spirit friend (perhaps a guide) who loves you very much.

One time I felt a pair of non-physical hands touch my back. I asked if this is spirit friend trying to help me. I saw a bright point of white light flash and received the answer, "yes." I said, "so I'm okay?" Another point of white light flashed, and I received the answer, "yes."  The spirit being made a few adjustments on my energetic system.

On another occasion I was watching American Idol and they were making fun of one of the contestants. I thought to myself, "God loves this person just as he loves me." I saw a bright point of white light flash about 2 feet above my television set, right over the center. Later on they made fun of another contestant, I thought as I did before, and another point of light flashed above my television set just as before.

The first time I made conscious contact with my I-there (disk) I saw numerous points of light flash in my room at the same time.

Joe welcome aboard;
Weather the clock working or not...just the fact that your mother communicated with you in dream state and told you that everything is fine should be more than enough don't you think?
Enjoy and welcome those communications and be proud that you remember them, keep it up

Wow, how beautiful! "Using Time" as a perfect message: "THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS TIME". It is beautiful, as she shows you that time is something that can be manipulated at will. Think about her message a sec.  :-?n Thank you for sharing this. I had been debateing on if I wanted to share my dream of 3 weeks ago, however your beautiful thread, pushed me to share. Will open my another thread so not to divert yours. Hugs 2 you, Nanner

After my grandmother passed in march 2000 i had a very vivid dream exactly like yours where she tol me not to worry and to let everyone know she was all okay. My father asked for a sign from her (as he suffered alot from her passing) and the next day a single red flower grew out of the ground near the front door next to the chair that my dad used to sit in every morning.

He knew it was a gift from his mother and that one gester put his mind at ease that his mother was safe and well.

Jason.
