Title: Afterlife Book Suggestions Needed
Post by Rebecca on Nov 22nd, 2009 at 8:09pm
I need book suggestions!  I've read Monroe's and Moen's books, Brian Weiss' books were great too.  Does anyone have any suggestions of good "page-turners" regarding the afterlife?  Thanks!

Hi,

Are you looking for anything specific, like how to explore or stories about other people's experiences?

I recommend Seth and Thomas Campbell's My Big Toe and Bridge Across Forever, but it's sort of fiction.

If you want to read something similar to the disk viewpoint, you might want to read the attached article.

I enjoyed reading Joel Rothschild's 'Signals' and William Buhlman's 'Adventures Beyond the Body'. There are more 'scientific' books by Gary Schwartz and David Fontana but they're not really page turners.

For example, contemporary OoBE books by
Robert Peterson (his first one for free in the www)
Albert Taylor

I recently read "Through The Mists" and "The Life Elysian" by Robert James Lees (1849-1931). If not available as a real book, p.m. me.

Spooky

Here are a few books about mediumship which I really enjoyed:

One Last time by John Edward
and
Crossing Over, The Stories Behind The Stories by John Edward

(I never watch his TV show, but I absolutely loved the books because of the stories in them that are so inspiring and amazing.  Even if you aren't sure you believe in his work, these stories and the way he writes will really make you believe).

We Are Their Heaven by Allison Dubois

(Same as above...I could read her book in a day or two, very simple easy writing, but it's the little gems that you find that make you open up in a way you weren't expecting.)

I get so inspired by reading other people's personal stories, and I especially love the human-relation quality...i.e. getting to see things from someone's perspective who is going through the loss of a loved one...there's nothing like it.

Thanks Vicky...I'll check out Edwards' books even thoughI tend to shy away from those in the spotlight.  Sylvia Browne changed that for me, I couldn't resist picking up a couple books by her and it's amazing to see how it parallels the rest of the stuff I've read.  The way she writes is so incredibly simple that it seems ridiculous (I particularly liked, "Temples on the Other Side").  I will definitely check out the books by John Edwards, I watched his show many years ago and found him very interesting.  I'll check out DuBois too!  Thanks again!

If you're looking for books on other peoples experiences their is an English Medium called Gordon Smith, he has several books out and I can honestly say he comes across as one of the most genuine people. There are plenty of mediums who are quite clearly trying to cash in on their gift IF they really have one, this guy isn't. Certainly worth a read.

Senote...I may have some meditation cds by Smith (*I think*), but I'll look into his books.  Thank you.

ETA. No, I guess it wasn't his cds that I have, but this guy is also a Brit.  I'll check him out.

I agree about Allison DuBois' book too, very exciting. Just wondering in a book store with intent will really get you somewhere though. Especially the small out of the way ones. I found Starseed Transmissions By Raphael and it absolutely convinced me that there was more to know...and Celestine Prophecy is a good one but kind of Basic. Sam Parnia's study on NDEs is good, but I forget the title now. I'm sure what you need will find you Rebecca.

Yours AlwaysNAllways,

Beau

Frank DeMarco's "The Sphere and the Hologram" is what I'm reading now.  Info from the other side.
