Title: Book proof read sought
Post by recoverer on Sep 15th, 2009 at 1:52pm
I'm just about done with my book, and I need to hire a professional proof reader to edit it. The thing is, I speak about some of my spiritual experiences within the book, and therefore,  I want to have the book edited by a person who is familiar with spiritual subjects.

Does anybody know of such a professional editor?

If you go onto Hampton Roads publisher site, it could be you could email them with that request for info and they could recommend some. Just a thought. Vee

Greetings,

Another possibility comes from a old friend of ours, Recoverer --
Alysia says that she glad she finally took the E-book method since it takes care of so much -- production and promotion, etc.

I doubt you need an editor for your writing style, grammar, et.  Your "p's and q's" as  shown on this site are alot better than some published work I've read!
Please sign me up for purchasing a copy  :)

Thank you for the suggestions.

I don't want to go the E-book route, because hardly anybody will see the book.

I'm fairly close to having two books completed, because one book has become two.

It's been tough finding the time to complete them, because I have a regular full time job and the usual and some "unusual" responsibilities of life.

Hopefully my writing in my book is better than my writing on this forum, because I don't proof my forum writing to the same extent.

Congratulations man!  What's the book about?  Loosing limiting beliefs? hehe

If you need an artistic cover let me know!

Thank you Dude.

The book is about some of my spiritual experiences and some of the things I learned.

I do speak of overcoming limiting ideas to some degree. For example, I speak about how I overcame my fear of unfriendly spirits through means such as out of body experiences where I interacted with imaginary unfriendly beings. I say imaginary, because I believe my higher self/spirit guidance created these beings so I would learn that I don't have to be afraid of them.

My daughter is a professional copy editor for medical training manuals.  She's good... always correcting my grammar and punctuation... lol

She's also very busy, and may charge more than you might want to pay, but if you want me to ask her if she'd be interested, let me know.

Kathy:

Since posting this thread, I did some price searches, and found that proofing services are more expensive than I expected. I need to determine if my book requires professional proof reading before I hire somebody.  If I decide to hire a professional proof reader, I'll keep your daughter in mind. Thank you.

Dude:

Regarding the artwork, I would have to see what a publisher would say. Publishers tend to take care of the cover design.
