Title: Reading list? Post by Pat E. on Sep 7th, 2009 at 2:29pm
I'm planning a trip soon where I hope to have time to myself to read and contemplate. I'll be taking Bruce's Guidebook and CDs along with the Gateway Experience CDs. But I would like to know what members of this forum would suggest for a reading list once one has read the three Bob Monroe books and all of Bruce's books. I want to work on actual experience, of course, but I'm a left brain analytical sort, so I want to keep reading as well. Thanks for your suggestions.

Hi Pat,
Where does one go (reading-wise) when one has already read the best of the best?! :) With your Buddhist background and your current Western applications through Monroe and Moen, alot of what's available may seem inadequate. Are you looking for both fiction and non-fiction? Will you also have a laptop computer with internet connections? Bets |

Hi Bets,
Mainly nonfiction, unless someone knows of some great fiction based on after-life knowledge. I haven't decided whether I'll take my laptop or not. I don't think the place I'll have the most time alone has internet connectivity yet, unless it's happened in the last few years. It's Ojo Caliente, a hot springs resort in northern New Mexico north of Santa Fe, essentially in the middle of nowhere, civilization-wise. Though the Indians came there for centuries before we "civilized" folks discovered it. Pat |

Hi Pat,
If it's not too late, here's just a reminder that some of the good ones that you've read before could be re-read now to see what correlations you might find with M&M's Afterlife information. For example I've enjoyed rereading 'the lost books of the Bible' with Afterlife in mind. Do you have time to print some paper copies of some websites you've been meaning to get back too? Here's one I haven't read through yet (just started it) that intrigues me) http://shiftingshadow.blogspot.com/2007/10/l-i-f-e-and-extreme-astronautics.html Enjoy your vacation :) Bets |

Along with the Tao-Te-King you could have Dschuang-Dsi with you in your book pocket.

Hi Pat,
Here's a bibliography of OB books that you could survey and adapt to your own interests while sitting in the local cafe' :) and then use the results when you return: obebibliography.info/Bushman.htm Bets |

Wow, Bets, that's some reading list!
I guess I'm mainly interested in how it all fits together, i.e. expanded consciousness explorations, OBE, the universe, the future, etc. But I'll certainly look at this list for interesting stuff. Thanks, again. |

...or instead to be pressured by a stack of books you just lie back and ahhh... let the expansion of your consciousness be? ;) Sometimes the absence of noise, people, and daily tasks alone can provide you with all insights you need.

Spooky, excellent suggestion!! I will take it to heart. Where I will be for several days on my trip is a mineral springs where the Native Americans came to "take the waters" hundreds of years ago. A magical place in my view.
