When I was a kid and was with other kids,I saw a spider with a goldon cross on its back.I have done some reserch on this tipe of spider,could not find any kind to mach this tipe of spider.anyone have any idea what it means.George

I remember seeing them in the woods quite often. I's relatively large (it's belly is about blue berry in size) and the color varies from light to dark brown and it has a white or yellowish/golden "cross" on it's back. I'm not an entomologist, so don't know the proper scientific name of it.
When I was a kid we called them "Crusader".
