Title: more retrievals/contacts: E.K. Ross + S. Gray
Post by gordon phinn on Jun 4th, 2008 at 1:57pm

Friends, hi,
These two retrievals are as much contacts as anything, but are illustrative of the vast divergence in soul intelligence one encounters in this work.  Again, polished up from notes for More Adventures.

gordon

         "Further Contacts"

"With some of my own time to spare, I thought about Elisabeth
Kubler-Ross, whose passing had been reported a few days before.
Knowing something of her life work and writing I was not
surprised to find her in a lovely astral version of the Swiss Alps,
where sparkling light and beautiful vistas reflected the relative
elevation of the souls in residence. Sensing one of those hemi-sync
reruns of a longer nighttime visit, I walked through what felt like
a media interview, and since I planned to report this on the radio,
the slight formality as Elizabeth greeted me graciously in what I’m
sure was a friend’s sitting room. Comfortably seated, we chatted in
a format that must have replicated many an earthside interview.

"She reported that she was more than ready for her transition and
made it easily. Spirit was even more wonderful that she had
imagined. Tell people it’s well worth the long wait, she said. I
assured her I would. She also asked that people send here the kind
of love that would help her on her way rather than bind her to the
past. I sensed she’d be moving up a level or two fairly soon, as
much due to expectation as achievement. As we talked she
emanated light, as an enlightened soul would do, but I could see
she was still attached to her ‘Elizabeth’ character and would be for
some while yet. Success, of course, can be as much of a trap as
failure. It’s the degree of attachment which counts. Basically, the
less the better. None, and you’re as free as a hot air balloon.

"Naturally, I said a lot about what a unique contribution she made
and how much society owed her for her pioneering work. That
death, or the discussion of it, was no longer such a taboo, was
largely due to her efforts. With this she seemed almost as relieved
as flattered. I understood: astral dwellers often care little for earthside
reputations, and those thus attached can be somewhat crestfallen
at the lack of reception.

"These two almost casually conceived contacts illustrate what
was rapidly becoming the norm for me, as the expansion
continued throughout the seasons of this volume’s composition.
Earlier in the year, I’d worked on a couple of unusual retrievals
which deserve some small mention. On March 22nd, it would
appear, I had sought the spirit of the actor/film maker Spalding
Gray, who, after weeks of suspicion and debate amongst his
friends, had been found at the bottom of the East river, where he
had apparently jumped in from a ferry, after months, if not years
of depression brought on, they claimed, by the reduced capabilities
resulting from a car accident. I had read his books and seen his
films, and had a distinct hunch that his zen meditation experience,
although valuable, had told him little about afterlife conditions.
This, amongst members of my spiritually inclined generation, is
not uncommon. Yoga, Zen, and a host of other fringe disciplines,
though not without their benefits for body, mind and spirit, are as
woefully inadequate as any of the mainstream religions in their
paucity of useful information on eternity. Gurus, lamas, swamis,
rishis can chatter endlessly about the void, the clear light, the pure
land, the attaining of nirvana and the bliss of nothingness with
varying degrees of felicity, but their legions of baby boomers
followers are as ignorant as the average church-goer when it come
to understanding the necessary illusions of the various spirit
realms and how they function in the overall education of the
embodied soul. The psychic communications of Spiritualism seem
terribly fussy and old-fashioned to those brought up on Castaneda
and Seth, but as navigational tools to the various realms they are,
in fact, very useful.

"I found him in focus 23, sitting hunched over and looking
gloomy. Using the trademark greeting Spalding man! Spalding man!
(from Swimming to Cambodia) I acted cheerful and chatty. Told him
I was a fan and wanted to help out. Intellectually I think he knew
there must be an afterlife but didn’t realize his state of heart/soul
would actually define his location/landscape. In that foggy area of
f23 he seemed to be living on remorse and memories. I asked him
what he thought of the society of aquatic life at the bottom of the
river. He said something about it moving around a lot.

"After cracking some wiseass remarks, the kind he used to use in
his own work, I grabbed his hands and got him up to play the
children’s game “Ring around the rosie”, something I hadn’t
thought of in years. You know, ‘A-tishoo, A-tishoo, we all fall
down’, dancing around in a circle and then falling backwards on
your ass and laughing hysterically? That seemed to loosen him up
a bit. Knowing, from his book, that he’d always been affected by
his mother’s suicide when a kid, and feeling his own remorse at
leaving his kids behind, I asked if he’d like to go to a part of the
afterlife where he could meet his mother and learn how to hook up
with his kids. Worthiness issues came up, and also a bit of doubt
(of the ‘Are you who you say you are?’ variety). I tried to convince
him by joking around rather than being serious. I suspect others
had been by before me, but he’d dismissed them as either fantasies
or pests. Finally got him to hold my hands and accept the fact that
we’d be changing dimensions. Told him to shut his eyes, but he
kept opening and peeking! I had to laugh. Told him the journey
might be disorienting if he kept them open. Probably the wrong
thing to say to a joker like that. He obviously liked teasing me on
the issue.

"Arriving at f27, the Park, he seemed mighty impressed. I told
him he should just walk about and meet people, that there were
lots like him, not to worry, that nobody would really give a toot
how he got there. Told him the food was really good, sushi the best
ever. Then explained how he could image his family here and visit
by expressing the desire to do so and then come back to the Park
by imaging it. Warned him not to get caught up in family emotions
or he’d get stuck like a ghost. Gave him a big hug, which he
seemed to enjoy, and told him I’d be back to help out if he needed
it. Then kind of pushed him away with my hand as if to say ‘On
you go, get started now!’ and disappeared.

"Not long later I had a similar experience with Canadian
political activist and former Toronto mayoralty candidate Tooker
Gomberg, who like many young energetic idealists, run out of
steam and into depression when the corruption of the world will
not yield to their enthusiasm. Another drowning. I found him
wandering through the homes of his friends, like some sweet but
ignored puppy, not long after his memorial service, which as they
often do, surprised him with its spontaneous outpourings of
respect and love. He seemed to know little, and care less, of
afterlife conditions, but I somehow convinced him that moving on
would be smarter than hanging around. Though his state of rueful
retrovision and remorse was similar to Spalding’s, he was easier to
convince, and I deposited him at f27 without much further ado."

...more to come...

Hi Gordon,

Regarding Elizabeth Kubler-Ross, where was she when you retrieved her and were you aware of the area of consciousness she journeyed to once retrieved? Since she attended TMI and collaborated with Bob Monroe and Charles Tart to develop the institute's Going Home Series, I would have thought she wouldn't have had a problem with getting stuck in the afterlife.

Good to see you here and much love,

Ginny

well ginny, just blew my first reply (somehow).  here goes again.

it's an old contact, four maybe five years ago, and i didn't make the greatest notes at the time anyway.  But she seemed to be in what i would call "one of the upper astrals" in some kind of replica of the swiss alps, staying over at a friend's house.  Whether she participated in a media interview, so like the many she must have done on earth, or whether "I there" set it up that way, I'm not sure, but that was the mode in which we interacted.  Almost as if someone had walked into the room ahead of me and said, "there's someone here from earth who wants to see you for a moment" and she said "I'd be glad to talk with them".
I didn't feel she was "stuck" as such, more slowed down, as many 'famous' are, by her ego attachments, you know, that subtle kind of self-love where she actually believed all that stuff she must have heard about "the wonderful elizabeth kubler ross" over the years, I guess you'd say internalised it.
I know from my work "over there" Ginny (obe at night that is) that people with high achievements on the earth plane, no matter how spiritual their knowledge may be, have a hard time "giving up who they are" in order to move into the formless energy realms and reunite with Disc/HS/Monad.  They're not the only ones who have such a challenge, but because of their wide "knowledge" of spiritual matters they KNOW what can be acheived, but because of their "glamour of fame" attachments, can let go enough to move on into the "radiant void".
I sensed that EKRoss would be facing that challenge, that's all.

love, gordon

thanks GP, I read these before but I like the refresher as I'm sure we need to plump up the retriever section.

I never thought much about those with a name would have some trouble letting go but it's so logical that we all desire recognition and that it's a type of love affair with the public which might get into larger than life ego type generations which at the same time might cause a looking down upon others. going onto higher learning though it could make one very nostalgic or worse, or maybe in Ross's case just takes the normal amount of acclimization back to spirit home.

Seth books was the place I first began to get the idea that I was perhaps able to create my own reality through my thoughts.
and then The Church of Religious Science helped a bit to reinforce that idea. then one day, I thought omygod! we're making all this up on one level!

which is a freeing thought actually. we really are able to create and uncreate our past deeds as well and create the head space. in other words, I still like your book's title, How To Enjoy Eternity, as we are truly able to enjoy ourselves and help others do the same.

I probably sound pious like church lady...but I can do that part really real! thanks again, alysia

I knew Elizabeth in life, as we collected clothing and building supplies for her planned community (actually an AIDS hospice) around Atlanta and took them to her barn in Virginia. She was a crusty woman, and almost always had a cigarette going. She also enjoyed her martinis. Her barn filled with donated items and supplies burned to the ground, and the circumstances were fishsy. Arson was never proven. No hospice or community was ever developed after that, and Elizabeth was dignosed with (what else?) lung cancer. She moved to Arizona, and I saw her one last time a few motnhs before she finally passed. She expressed her frustration at being known as such an expert about Death and Dying, and being unable to actually accomplish it for herself. She was a skeleton, still smoking her unfiltered cigarettes and coughing in fits, her oxygen turned off for the smoking break....

I agree. We spoke about the Going Home series, which was made to assist terminally ill people and their families to get to (Monroe speak) Focus 27, the Park, the Healing Center... As you have read, she helped Bob Monroe develop it, and I know for certain she had listened to the CDs (actually cassettes) as she pointed across the room to a set of headphones. I remember telling her, "You'll be fine," and her smiling and saying that she knew she would be, that she already was, and that it would not be too long. "Finally!" she said.

And later, after she had passed, I found her at the Healing Center, sitting an a sunny bench out of doors. She was doing well, and looked radiant. She communicated with a smile, "You were right, I was fine." ANd then I swear she asked me if I had brought her any cigarettes.......

Great Love and Light,

Thomas

thanks Thomas, fascinating story.  did not know her apart from books and realise that I may have somehow projected certain unconscious assumptions onto the situation, but with "famous" contacts/retrievals that's always going to be a concern, regardles of how scrupulous and unattached you try to be.
There's several in the book More Adventures and three of them have made it onto www.youtube.com (search under "thewordofgord").
I have several more that never made it into any book; some of them are just too famous and i was worried that i'd be bashed as a headline grabber.  But others were just too fascinating to resist (Hunter Thompson and Spalding Gray for example).

You are welcome Ginny.  Am planning to post some old ones from my notes, ones that never made it into any book.  They've got a raw quality that i think newer members will be intrigued by.  When i polish them up for publication they appear so professional and probably beyond most folk's abilities.  But the raw info tells a different story.

Recoverer responds: Think of existence as a Dagwood Bumstead sandwhich (from the comic strip blondie).  One outer slice of bread is the physical World, the other outer slice is the void before anything was created. For whatever reasons, Eastern teachings tend to forget about everything that occurs inbetween the two slices of bread. It's all a part of the process. Even the onions. Yuch! :(

Regarding Carlos Castaneda, the first source I read when I started to have spiritual experiences were Castaneda's books. The whole thing is a hoax; nevertheless, the books helped me out. Regarding Seth, I believe the books have some good things to say, but there is no way I'll completely trust a source that denies Jesus' crucifixion with a story that doesn't hold water and that takes three of Jesus' most famous sayings and completely despiritualizes them, for example when Jane Roberts/Seth said that Jesus was making a joke when he said to love your neighbor as your self.

Regarding the crucifixion, I've had experiences which showed me that Jesus was in fact crucified. Regardless of whether people consider the crucifixion to be an important event, why would Jane Roberts Seth say that it didn't happen and use the gospels to try to prove their point, if it did happen? In fact, Jane Roberts Seth contradicts herself when she denies the crucifixion either in "Seth Speaks" or "A Nature of a Personal Reality" (I can't remember which book), because in an earlier book (the one with the photos) Jane/Seth claim that the crucifixion was a dream event, not a physical event.

I believe it is a good thing that folks like Robert Monroe, Bruce Moen and some NDE people came around, because they provide people with more options when reading about non-physical reality.

Hi R. sure hope GP comes back at ya. just thought I'd share some thoughts, some new readings I've done regarding the crucifixion and resurrection.
At the same time, I still support the Seth material for making me look at certain ideas and concepts, but it was so long ago I'm way beyond the material as being helpful to where I'm at now. Picking up a Seth book was a phase of growth, and somebody out there still needs that phase to go thru as we are not all on the same page at the same time.
as far as Castaneda's books, I respectfully note they are listed in Bruces Resources so there's something also in them that was valuable to him or he wouldn't have it listed in the resources on his page.

personally, I was very young when I read Casteneda and was always wondering if he spoke of physical reality or an altered state he had entered that no one else could enter. I decided I needed a less spectacular advent into spirituality and in my reading material I needed more of a How to approach, which I find like you said here:
I believe it is a good thing that folks like Robert Monroe, Bruce Moen and some NDE people came around, because they provide people with more options when reading about non-physical reality.

it's just that it's more practical approach. Bruce is an engineer, an ordinary person with many things to say about How to do it. with the exercises for example, which worked for me, another ordinary person, and so I assume they would work for all. Bruce is the first to explain to me that he too is still learning stuff. I assume we are all arriving then, all in the act of exploring as long as we are in a physical body there is no finish line to achieve. this includes all authors except a channelled source, ACIM, which is a nonphysical literature using a human body to write it through, and a human who was not at the same level of development of course, as Yeshua.

about this other material I'm in now Disappearance of the Universe by Gary Renard. We have a report from Gary that two of Yeshua's (originally Y'shua was the name he went by) disciples appearing before him to talk about ACIM, as well Y'shua spoke directly to Gary to say these words:
"Renounce  the world and the ways of the world and make them meaningless to you."

sound like something J would say? As radical as his teaching were, I'd say rings true.

Whereupon Gary reports that visions of sacrifice danced thru his mind whereupon he answered Yeshua, I'll do it, I don't know how, but I'll do it.
and the voice spoke again and said "I will show you how."

but back to the resurrection is said here to have occurred as written, although there is various interpretations whether he made himself a new body of the same configeration or used the body that was dead and placed in the tomb to reappear before his disciples. in either case, he would have had to remove a huge stone if he used the same body in front of the tomb, however, easy for him to do if he "believed" he could.

and this is my personal stuff, to track down why his body was never found, I simply conjecture he could raise the vibratory rate of the physical structure to level of appear or "disappear." something we are thinking about now, as in teleportation avenues in technology.

because we are energetic beings, not solid as we seem to think solid is the only reality. the body is really not much J is saying. It does what you tell it to do, not the other way around.

here's something you will be interested to consider:

these two disciples explain four steps in man's spiritual evolution.
1) dualism
2) semi-dualism
3) non-dualism
4) pure non dualism. (no conflicts.) oneness in the mind, therefore fearlessness.

Buddha's non dualism state of awareness is explained this way:
Many people believed since Buddhism is one of the most sophisticated religions Buddha had reached the final enlightenment stage. Here in Disappearance, the disciples explain that he had reached non-dualism described as "The Mind that realizes it is the maker of the illusion."
They said he had one more life to achieve complete enlightenment which was a snap for him.
They continued to say that it is often human fallacy to consider a famous life, must also be the final life where complete enlightenment is achieved and no longer necessary for to continue in ELS.

They said Buddha had mistakenly left God out of his equations, not a mistake, but they use Buddha's famous life to compare with Yeshua's last life, where he had indeed achieved pure non-dualism.

when Gary asked how Yeshua achieved this, we have about 400 pages to sift through. however the fourth stage goes beyond Buddhistic thinking by saying this:

The mind that is the maker of the illusion Chooses. The mind that is the maker of the illusion chooses completely.
the mind that is the maker of the illusion chooses completely against itself.

the mind that is the maker of the illusion chooses completely against itself in favor of God.

This is the man/spirit you and I look up to, and Gordon has been channelling him also, so he does get around. then it's true, he laid his life down to prove a point. that the body is nothing. it is 100% surrender of the ego to God is the final level and cessation of reincarnational values.

and also Disappearance explains something I was confused about a little. The comforter has been called the Holy Spirit. It is explained the Holy Spirit IS Yeshua, one and the same.

you were visited by Yeshua, I guess back in the 80's. that was only the beginning of your journey.
I am assuming, because I am entering the same journey as the 4rth level, that your energy body is getting speeded up to where you choose completely against yourself in favor of God.

this however, entails no loss or sacrifice as one might imagine, because the mind that has reached this area no longer seeks enlightenment as they are too busy being the walking truth, they are not after any goals..they are only hearing the Holy spirit's voice each step of the way.
showing them how.

when this happens, the study period is over. no more books. just doing and being until god takes the final step for you.

as concerning me personally I've turned into both a man and a woman, realizing those are only roles we play for a time. we have no gender on the highest levels of spirit.

blessings in our respective searches for truth. I hope this helps you.
