Title: Question about who is here and there
Post by Lucy on Apr 19th, 2008 at 1:08am
Not being skilled at this retrieval thing but feeling sad about the passing of a particular person, I asked someone else to pay a visit if the guide(s) said it was OK (is that a variation on Deo volente? ...it would be "guides willing" I guess).  This resulted in a successful visit and sharing of energy, but the report of the visit also raised a question that maybe some folks on the board have also encountered and might have some ideas on.

The person's mother was reported (by the person) to be there helping. However, the mother is still here in the flesh. The question is, do you think the helpers disguise themselves as particular individuals to give comfort until the person gains enough strength and healing to move on? Or do you think the mother, who is terribly distraught, visits in sleep or in prayer?  Comments?

If someone else would like to try to visit, that would be nice, but I am reluctant to post the name, or at least the full name. I don't think that a primary retrieval is necessary but the person is still healing and, well, why wouldn't a visitation be helpful. Or maybe someone else would end up being present at the moment of death and be useful that way; if time is not linear, then you might show up any time. I'm for trusting guides on that issue. What is the minimum info you need to retrieve/visit?

Hi Lucy, this seems like a person we could put in the Partnered Exploration thread as it's not a healing request or retrieval as you say but you are seeking some questions which might be answered over there, you never know what might be drummed up. might be worthwhile.

maybe you could try your own self though first. None of us have a connection to this person, and you have a name, we don't have a name, so it's difficult without some sort of ID. lately, I'm working off pictures. we don't usually get pictures here. sometimes retrievals are going on behind this board with emails. then we get a name and it's easier.

since you have the name, you could try contacting their higher self or even your higher self?

yes, there could be deceptive beings in the lower astral who can look like someone they are not.
I agree, the mother could be going obe, out of concern and this could be picked up as her presence.
does this appear to you as a difficult transition? love, alysia

Hmm not sure where to carry on this discussion. Do you really think it is better at partnered exploration? The lines between some of these topics seem to get blurred. I also don't see why the work can't be expanded from "Retreivals" to healing visits. I guess it is up to the guides. Sometimes the guides need the earthbound to help get the attention of someone who is stuck. Are there other times us earthbound are ..useful? It is a healing request for someone who passed over. What category is that?

Not lower beings who are being deceptive. that sounds mean. Caring beings (Helpers) who are taking on a disguise in order to help. Has anyone ever thought that happened? After some of the things Tim has written I think that must be a "Yes!". But how would you know? I mean, some of the retreivers take on disguises of sorts. Maybe some of the disguise goes on longer and is done by the Helpers. It would be interesting to hear about times when folks thought that had happened and how they knew.

No one has pm'd me for a name. Is first name enough of an ident? Do you need an age? Last physical location? What is the mimimum info that works?

Hmmm yeah sometimes it is one thing, sometimes another. At 9/11 we didn't have any names...but we certainly knew what and where.

you're right. It's hard these days to know where to post what! we have so many rooms. whatever u think best is fine with me Lucy. U said u didn't think it was a retrieval, so I suggested the PE thread  as we've been working a healing circle there; each week one person goes into it.

it seems theres a bit of shyness there; we don't get a lot of participation yet for someone to actually ask to be the target takes a massive courage, my opinion. after all, who can trust the internet?

so that was my thought about this. personally, you're right, at 9/11 we didn't need names. I only made two runs there, and in one, I just watched other retrievers working it. the one I did do, was real to me, a fireman or maintenance worker and I didn't have a name. however, I was emotionally involved in that situation, keyed up so to speak.
I think though that making a retrieval request should be worded "Retrieval Request" on the title of wherever u place it, in case someone here wants to do it. It's up to their guidance.

I would need first name, or a picture, or a word picture, description of basics, such as "there's a ghost sitting on my bed at night, it's scaring my wife, can u help us?"

this would make one curious perhaps, providing motivation to do a retrieval. and this really happened to me here. it was a successful retrieval. however, I don't do much of those retrievals anymore. I am just available and willing if spirit says do it (a punch in the solar plexus, or just a knowing this one is for me, something like that.) but I'll tell u Lucy, I'd rather teach you to do it yourself if I knew how to teach it. You seem like a person could do it but don't know u can do it.
oh sorry about mentioning deceptive lower astral spirits. they are not a problem really, can be blown away with PUL reball.

forget I said anything about it.  :)

Hello, Lucy-

I think that in both instances you are correct.  The persons mother may indeed actually be visiting the deceased person to give that person comfort and reassurance, but Mother doesn't have any conscious recall of the visit.  Also, I am sure that guides are able to take on a disguise of a loved one for the departed.  That way the departed will respond better to a familiar face.  And because there is no time--- Mother could be there Now and also here at the same instance.

I am sure you were also a visitor to peak in on the deceased, as that was your unconscious intent. You don't recall the visit because you have some doubt that you have the capability.  Of course you can--- as you are pure love and have stated so in your comments above.  Love Carol Ann
