I was in the midst of a "normal" dream which seemed to have some family members in it, whom I seldom see, and a flurry of unremembered activity.

I was awakened by my alarm shortly afterwards, which is why I remember the following snippet. I was replying to a family member, something, I can't remember, but it was a snappy retort because I think she had said something to me which I didn't care to hear. I "waltzed" away from her toward a very very old friend, from high school, one whom I have not spoken with in around 30 years. I was smiling and moving rapidly toward him.

Like a friend or schoolmate, I whisked him away into a bedroom. We were going to sit down and have a chat. I pushed aside a small glass bowl into the middle of the bed, to make room for him to sit down on the edge of the bed. As I remember, he and I share memories of school plays we both participated in, and one in which he saw me featured a small collection of glass animals. The bed had a white bedspread on it. This was not a room I recognized.

A small table and lamp spilling light into the tight corner made it clumsy to find him a proper place to sit.

I moved back after acknowledging this space as his. I noticed something peeking out of a slightly ajar cabinet door, back beside the bed near the floor. I pulled it out as I shut the door and sat on the floor.

It was a splendid peacock feather.

I lay down on the floor on my back looking toward the ceiling and held the peacock feather straight up in the air, twirling it around in a pleasant happiness, looking at it, beginning to converse lazily, looking at this peacock feather in the air.

Then the alarm sounded. I wonder what we would have talked about...that peacock feather and me?

Peacock feathers can symbolize the afterlife. The dark blue eye at the center of the peacock feather has a mystical meaning. I woke up feeling pleasant but disappointed to be back here.

It would be just like me to be mesmerized by a feather. How about you?

Hi Blink, the peacock feather reminds me how the male is the one with the wonderful colored tail and does this lovely mating dance to spread them, then I thought of you mentioned you and he were on a stage once, and the stage is where one can openly "strut" their stuff, as in acting, as in becoming the role.

I think the dream suggests a bond of affection was made during those high school days and now revisisted and it is the same with him, the bond is in his mind as well, in memory.

If I may imagine, I would say you and he did converse about the good old days, and the friendship made there.

love is never dead, though it be situated in the past..it springs fresh in the now, and this is not necessarily the romantic love but even better I'd say, to recall these friendships, that give meaning to life.

Yes, those friendships, these friendships, all give meaning to life. Forever: we dance and sing together in Love's Embrace, each of us, special, unique.

Truly, nothing can mask our joy.

I notice today that CNN has just posted this video in the online front page main articles: a group of peacocks has invaded a Florida community - 60-70 birds have "made the news" today.

This strikes me as very amusing for some reason, do you know why? If "someone" wanted to get my attention, this was an interesting way to do it -- peacock feathers, peacocks, not a usual image for me, rather rare. Of course, some might find it a little silly and wonder why "anyone" would try to communicate in this manner, or why anything in life would be "connected" in such a silly way.

Why Not?           Anything is possible, perhaps.

u got a point Blink, that anything is possible. Some messages from spirit land, or nonphysical communications, they are not so direct, but indirect. maybe we can work with the interpretor then. too bad they fellow can't just get on the phone and say howdy dowdy...you'd probably faint if that happened?

Yes, you are exactly on target, Alysia. As a matter of fact I specifically told "them" a few weeks or so ago that I was not ready for a "big reveal" yet. I told them it would scare me silly.

Because I really really could feel some kind of presence right in the room with me, and I don't mind that, I like it actually. But materialization is just not something I think I could handle quite yet. So, yes, I did actually tell "spirit" that it is not "okay" with me, at least not at this point.

Love that smilie in her bubble bath, Alysia. I love how, in blink's dream, all the little pieces were there...how the feather stuck out from under something and something was open and sitting on the floor and so on, all the little pieces of the picture. It's so amazing how our brains put all these little jig saw pieces together in a flash, instantly, and yet in the dream they feel like they have always been there, like an old house we have always lived in. I have been practicing looking at contact with spirit, whether dreams or otherwise, like the Guides suggested in a previous post somewhere: there is no difference between the physical and spirit...we are always in spirit, the physical is a temporary illusion only. and when we contact departed loved ones or dream or daydream, we are connecting spirit to spirit always, never anything else, however physical the imagination my seem. The physical is not an obstruction to spirit, or something to overcome, our communications are always directly spirit touching spirit. Why did I say that now? Hm I forget what notion took me there regarding the feather and blink and spirit. Vee
