It was maybe 5 days ago

I was just getting to sleep
slowly drifting as my muscles were relaxing
the whole body abandonning to the weight of gravity
becoming one with the couch ...

That is usually how i get off
feeling awareness leaving the body on it's own
while concentrating in a ball of light,
somewhere between the eyebrows
and dissolving slowly, (one could almost say melting)
into it

I must have fell asleep along the process
because suddenly I was awakened by the clear perception
of someone padding my feet over the blankets

thought for a moment it was my daughter,
but she's never done that!
now I was completely awake
or was I really?
trying to see in the dark
but there was no one there!

I was certain of my perceptions
I did feel that soft touch on my feet
So...
Okay, it hapenned,
I don't know what but something hapenned
that perception was real, not an imp

It could of stayed like that
I have learned to accept that
answers aren't always there exactly
at the time you wish them too

but
I started that book, yesterday or the day before,
- OtherWhere: Kurt Leland (that one is much more recent... 2001)
in which I was now was reading:

"On several occasions I've been awakened in the middle of the night
by a non physical entity standing at the foot of my bed...
...
The entity grasps my big toe and gently shakes my foot until I awaken
... " (p 44)

I won't give you more of it because it would contaminate my question
(and your eventual replies here...)

Has anyone experienced something alike?
 

  The only time i remember, is when i woke in the middle of the night thinking that someone was breaking into my house, after apparently hearing some noise or something.  

  I propped myself up in bed somewhat, and watched as a very tall and slender being start to walk slowly over to the bed wherein my wife and i were sleeping.   I became freaked out because after propping myself up initially, later on i couldn't move any part of my body.   Later on found out it this is called sleep paralysis, but at the time i thought that perhaps this being was doing this to me, which honestly freaked me out more than a bit.  

  It started to reach its hands towards my side, and i used every ounce of will i had to "move" my hand to stop this, and i slowly started to bend back its fingers.   I remember it all in "slow motion".    I couldn't "read" this being very well, either, but at that moment i remember sensing a definite sense of a sort of surprise at this.    

  I "felt" it physically, or so i thought, but later on i came to the conclusion that i was kind of inbetween physical and etheric state, kind of a half, spontaneous classic OBE state.    Had i been fully phased or centered in physical, i probably wouldn't have perceived this being to begin with, who had attributes of physicality, but seemed on a faster vibration than our "physical".  

 My precept is, that it could have touched me physically, and probably was, but to this day i don't really know what the whole incident was really about.    This, the whole thing was more "real" feeling than any lucid dream i have ever had, and more "real" feeling than another spontaneous OBE i had had later.    

Have read of that sort of thing Jazel, but never experienced it. Can't remember where. I know a lady that does spiritual healing who described to me repeatedly waking up to find people standing by her bed, or even trying to get her attention. Said it eventually stopped being scary.

Is there possibly a mention of something like this is one of Robert Monroe's books?..

hmm,
not that I recall
the closer to it being the ghosts stories
one of the man that had lost his wife
or those involved with drugs and partying
(maybe someone else have better examples?)

but here feels different to me

This resonated as closer to what had been experienced.

i also associated it with a vision
in the end of a meditation practice around the same period
i felt a presence as someone standing close and waiting for me to finish
seeing that i was not doing anything it stepped back a short distance
it looked as having the height of a kid
holding a book or something like it in it's arms, both folded over the breast
color was earth like, tones of brown and yellow but all very diffuse
floating over a dark background
more of an impression

and I feel it gives Bruce's and Robert Monroe's book a new perspective
(adding new shades as would maybe say Justin)

I've experienced myself get touched by a spirit on more than one occasion while fully awake and while I knew a spirit was with me.

it happened to me once.one night i was standing at a bar alone waiting to be served and i felt hand on my shoulder i turned around and there was no one there. it turned out that the bar was haunted and was investigated by a well known uk medium.

Hi I have been toched by spirit ,ive had my jumper lifted up,my hair lifted up ,tapping on my forhead and the spirit of my dad has kissed me on the cheek.

What a coincidence -- I've recently started reading Otherwhere myself. I've been reading a chapter a night, right before going to bed. I really enjoy it -- a slightly different perspective from Bob Monroe's books.

As far as being touched goes, I had this experience while taking Lifelines at TMI:

A co-worker had asked me to try to contact her deceased husband during my Lifeline program.
We were about to do a tape where trying to contact him would be appropriate.

I was standing in my room, just outside my CHEC unit, sort of daydreaming and trying to remember what she had told me about him, so I could make contact.

As I stood there, I noticed a sort of "rustling" out of the corner of my eye, almost like how heat makes the air shimmer on a hot day. Right after that I felt a definite tug on the back of my shirt, like someone had grabbed it and pulled it down.

I swirled around to see who had done it, but there was no-one else in the room with me.

It turns out that her dead husband did a much better job of making 'contact' with me than I ended up making with him.  ;)

Maybe an opportunity to practice acceptance?
At worse we will end up with as many translation maps as travellers

I think he has done a nice job on assigning titles from functions
even if it messes things up  a bit from our view point here

I have had something what i can only describe at kneeding/pressing  my back, i have also had on 2 seperate occassions had water drop on my arm from nowhere when sat on my settee (complete mystery that one) and i wake up when i sense something and i always get that same knowing feeling when someone/something is in the room apart, i did wake up one night and i'm not sure if i was dreaming but i had a spirit on top of me kissing my neck and i woke up but don't know if it was real or just a dream but i woke up pretty freaked out by it dream or not, have seen quite a few spirits too

This often happens to me just before a conscious OBE and when I first tried I often felt an evil being was looking at me paralyzed body. But done worry I never came to any harm,
