Say if all the souls inhabiting this planet suddenly decided to...oh I don't know, move to another planet, because, well, it's even more exciting than this hellhole (I have a seemingly neverending cold, so excuse my somewhat dark mood) - would life still be possible here? Would humans as we know them in the flesh still roam about, or would they fall down on the ground? Perhaps they'd be retarded fools, not knowing how to behave, since they have no soul? It's a question that boggles my mind, truly.  :-?

Well the major theory on souls is that the soul is "tied" to the body while it is alive.

So every living being would have to decide they don't want to live and kill themselves.
Then every soul would have to decide that they would rather come back to a different planet.

But seriously... the odds of this happening? LOL!

But generally all we really have are theories anyways. Perhaps the soul can make choices even while the body is alive and choose to die so that it can leave this world....
Even IF that is true.... every being deciding to do this and at roughly the same time so the world would be depopulated? No way. People are just too darn tied to the Earth to leave it.

(It's an interesting question though. Never would have thought of it.)

There are three major branches of theory: (a) the ghost IS the machine, (b) the ghost and machine are separate, but the ghost is IN the machine, (c) multiple aspect theories in which ghost and machine both manifest a THIRD FACTOR common to both.

Personally, I rather like the idea that if the ghosts all leave to go elsewhere, then that's where we will all find ourselves.  To me the question would be whether or not we would even notice it.  ;-)

If the body does not live without the soul, then there's something to think about when one has an OBE -  does that equate to death?
