This is nice, Juditha. I've never had my own dog but I hope to have that experience in this lifetime. Of course there are always the family dogs, but it must be really special to be with your very own dog. I have nursed a few stray cats back to health in my time and I believe these animals do realize what you have done for them. They can begin with no trust at all and learn to love from us, just like people.
