Wow. Who'd have thought? Thanks for the link. After reading it I checked on Snopes, and according to that site, the law was implemented in 1969 and intended to ensure that astronauts were quarantined upon return to prevent possible spread of dangerous microbes (like in The Andromeda Strain) and was removed in 1991. http://www.snopes.com/legal/et.asp Carolyn |
