Title: Is the universe alive and aware Post by Alan McDougall on Jan 23rd, 2008 at 2:04am
Hi, All
Assumming yes the universe is self aware, then what is your/my awareness all about? Probably a low level awareness, that becomes complete and gets a true picture when it can realize the higher level universal awareness? Or are we a part of that real universal awareness, I mean our awareness itself is the universal awareness, our awareness is itself a proof that universe is self aware, except that our awareness is only limited by our definition of self with an identity with our body. In a nutshell, if we define our true self to be the universe, then our awareness will become the universal awareness Does this inner experience parallel physical reality? Does our galaxy have a mind, and if so is it more self-aware than ours? Is the Universe more aware than a galaxy? Are the combined infinite multi-universes God? Consider the Multi-universe. Some physicists believe that there is infinity of universes born out of nothingness, and that new ones are always being born. If we assume with Bohm that mind is constitutive of the Multi-universe, then this ongoing creation manifests mind at a scale well beyond our own. Is this self-creating Multi-universe self-aware? The mystics tell us that it is. They say that when we become fully awake, we realize we are a local manifestation of universal mind becoming aware of itself through us. Einstein wondered whether the Universe is a friendly place or not. It is a fair question. Not all small-scale minds, from humans to corporations, are friendly. Would a universal self-aware mind be friendly? It would experience everything as an aspect of itself. I therefore expect it is friendly towards us, since we are one of its resident aspects. Brain scientists have recently discovered that our brain is wired for mystical experience. We are hard wired to open our embodied mind up and connect it with mind at more universal scales. This too suggests that Big Mind is friendly. Our body is the pet and treasure we walk through life inside of. In death each one of us, separated from our familiar body, will gain insight into Einstein's question. In the meantime, I believe the Universe is both self-aware and friendly. The heavens declare the glory of God. The final question if we move on higher realms of exitence (assuming the universe has a soul like ours but much greater) Does the universe do likewise and spit becommong a multi-universes? (Rhetorical question) alan |

Must say I'm not so sure at all that it's a low level awareness - maybe it just operates over differing time scales and dimensions and considers important much that we don't conceive of.
Perhaps also much of the awareness and knowing is analogous to our timeless but fundamental dharmakya or absolute intuitive awareness, that it doesn't have anything equivalent to our monkey brain intellect, and is anyway not so separated from the whole. i.e. that it doesn't think in self based abstract concepts which in the end are only the simplified approximations to reality that we're forced to use because of our limited processing power and awareness. Maybe even that when we view earth changes we're watching intelligence in action, but that it's on such a different scale that we simply don't recognise it. In this regard I have to say that I really struggle with the theorisings of science that form the basis of the various searches for extra terrestrial intelligence. I don't know, but I can't help feeling that our inability to conceive of or search for anything except the emanations of what we perceive can only be monkey brains similar to our own (we know already that the conscious intellect is only a tiny part of our own intelligence, but ego mistakes it for all) means we'll probably wake up some day to realise we're unknowingly swimming in awareness. That we're a bit like a cell that hasn't got it together well enough yet to realise that it's only a tiny part of a body. That in it's ignorance thinks it's the only living thing in an inanimate reality. That there's always been every form of life imaginable going 'coooeeeee' from the rooftops, but we're not hearing it... |

Greetings,
I vote than the universe is very aware, that when we breathe in Spirit, we are exchanging within our own system some of the Universe's awareness. Every meditation is a miracle in this regard ! I believe our universe loves us very much, and that is why we have bodies and planets to explore and recreate from--the Universe knows God's Plan is to continue Creation. Love creates miracles in all aspects of our being, so surely Love is of the Essence of inner and outer worlds! As we create, we exchange ideas with sources in tune with the Universe. In our small way we show the Universe what it can have due to our creations. When we create according to its principles, it rewards us by bringing more love, or whatever we are looking for, into our lives. So there is exchange at this level too. When we are filled with PUL, PUL powers travel within this Universe and perhaps beyond ! Entities encountered in these far distances are loving, or as far as my travels have taken me. When we truly come to understand energy, particularly the energy called Love, we will know that is All That Is in this Universe. The Universe is One. PUL, Bets |

"Would a universal self-aware mind be friendly? It would experience everything as an aspect of itself. I therefore expect it is friendly towards us, since we are one of its resident aspects."
That's a tricky one, not that you are making it tricky, it's tricky in itself. Given the estimation you present then I wonder of the not-so-friendly conditions and circumstances that we have to contend with. If 'friendly' is posited as a quality of the universal mind (UM) then is it possible that it also has 'antagonistic' qualities? Perhaps the antagonism is only a glitch in the works in the UM's scale but locally we're talking some rigorous Sturm und Drang. By the way, I know it just may be a typo but in your last sentence: "Does the universe do likewise and spit becommong a multi-universes?" Did you mean "split" or or is it "spit" as some type of earthier connotation? :) Desert |

look, Alan has got us going again! makes me glad he's here, although he's off the wall mystic, I have to agree, I am too. :)
______ Ian said: That we're a bit like a cell that hasn't got it together well enough yet to realise that it's only a tiny part of a body. That in it's ignorance thinks it's the only living thing in an inanimate reality. That there's always been every form of life imaginable going 'coooeeeee' from the rooftops, but we're not hearing it... _____ theres a thing called the grid where the entire voice of humanity makes a huge sound, sort of like if you're at a game, have you noticed the blending sound of crowd cheers? was thinking of humanity as this wave before it fragmented into bodies for experience gathering purposes within the dense Earth plane. scuse me while I emit...OOOOOOWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!! u guys push my buttons, thats good as its a tough job, somebody has to do the dirty work. Ian's talking about center of the universe disease, where the cell is just a cell but the ego will say it wants to be a bigger and better cell. not that I say it's good or bad happening. It just is. Love is. Betson said: I believe our universe loves us very much. oh yes, I agree, but was a time I would have disagreed. I considered the universe is unfolding on schedule, we need to get out of the way and watch it do its thing. its another way of saying He has his eye on the sparrow. about my statement before that I wondered one day, is the universe benevolent principle or is it not? could I come up with a definitive answer on this age old question, nevertheless, was mine now? So I decided to ask. then I released the question. soon I had a precognitive dream which would point out the answer, that for my purposes here, my own journey, since I had asked, and since it is a law that if you ask, you will receive, I did get an answer. took several years, still is going unraveling, that it is a loving universe, and therefore benevolent insofar as my personal reality creating business. its a long story. I've written it several times here and there. briefly, I was introduced to an involuntary obe situation to view the breakdown of my vehicle in the middle of nowhere, no cell phone, no mechanics, just me alone with my question to the universe if I could just view human kindness somewhere operating, I might be persuaded to set my course from that. kindness is also PUL. to top it off, there set me daughter in the seat beside me, when we were traveling and the incident outpictured in reality, and boy, does she have a sharp tongue on her face! she was in mortal terror. I remained calm because I'd had this dream of breaking down, and that someone would appear from out of nowhere to assist me. there he was standing there, smoking a cig, looking around. its your angel, like in the dream said spirit. but I was basically only half conscious because I was also in fear. I asked him just for a screwdriver. he supplied it, then I walked back to my car. my problem seemed much too immense to be asking a stranger to rip into it; I couldn't impose, but had my mind set on ripping off the steering wheel all by myself. a distinct impossibility, yet thats how I am. Angels have this way about them; they obey their instincts. He followed me. gently asking could he be of assistance? I explained as best I could the steering wheel was jamming up. we fixed it together, he with brute force ripped it off, I with tender touch retrieved a small piece of plastic. we had to do it together, or it wouldn't have gotten done at all. I recalled my asking the universe if I would be taken care of in life, to find this benevolent universe, and to be assisting of it myself to others. although I cannot be sharing the way I felt, the verification was now here, in this man's behavior, the same I had met in the skies, I had made an appointment with him, and he and I were the universal intelligence operating together. since the whole adventure was preplanned due to the precognition area, I saw how all of my life events had this intelligence behind them. I saw that our lives were like movie scripts. with my higher self as director, and my limited cell self would need to keep in tune with the planning committee constantly, so i could be a part of this magnificent unfolding of what we are about to create and are creating, simply by our togetherness. I learned not to be an island but it's ok to ask for help as everytime I do, the universe responds through one of you! and thats what we're doing here, the same. we are creating in every moment. love, alysia |
