Title: 2 questions (from There to Here) Post by jazel on Jan 10th, 2008 at 11:28pm
The story first
I was out... To assure myself I decided to let go and simply let the body fall back. Won't get hurt if the body's asleep... And it didn't hurt... kind of soft, falling in slow motion, almost like not falling in fact I tought it would go faster and that there simply wouldn't be any resistance at the moment of contact with the ground but it was almost like not falling at all. I still concluded that I was out, and started looking around. As there was not much too see I realised I was in what felt like a hospital room and decided to get out of the room. Using what look like a stetoscope and holding its branches like a bycicle's handles I tried to go through the walls but there seemed to miss something, sort of no propulsion so I simply dropped it all. Around me were people now in a large classroom. Someone, dressed as a hospital aid or nurse was asking me to go in front as to serve in the demonstration. I felt he was saying so... no words, only an impression of what was asked of me... I agreed and started moving towards the front. Then I've been given a box of CDs that I had to distribute... looking closer I realised that they all had the same picture, (or maybe were there two different CDs?) I started throwing them around, one after the other, being cautious not to hurt anyone in the doing. That is when I realised that the crowd looked much amorphous... and I thought of Bruces's descriptions in working the crowds... So I stopped the CD business, and everything in fact, as I was starting to ask myself what I was doing there... I thought to myself, maybe I should try to formulate some sort of question or intention like wanting to contact my Oversoul (or I/There) or simply ask for some guidance... As I was working on that, a man appeared, dressed in a suit (I thought a moment of Bob Monroe but the picture was not exactly it, certainly younger than the last photos I'd seen on the internet, and no mustache... ). A single word popped out that I first understood as "shout" (in french crier) but that I shortly rather recognised as "pray" (prier in french both words sound pretty close) And the figure vanished... I continued walking my way out looking at the people in the crowd mostly made of men. I found a woman and got closer asked her if she could see me... to what she answered amused that yes and she disapeared too... and I was back in the hospital room... and finally back "here" 40 minutes later, feeling a bit lost for a while. Now the comments It's only while writing that down that I made the link that that world looked much like the one I had seen last time I was out, (a week ago)... And I realised that I felt as beeing (out there) in the same being as that last time... I realised that that beeing seemed a bit strange to me as if in someone else's shoes, someone younger and that was not acting exactly as I (the conventionnal I, that I understand as being here) would... as if I found it a bit immature or younger and that that definitely felt strange. And a few questions Has anyone been in such a state? Feeling that you don't control as you thought you would... Is there a learning to be made there too? (probably is...) What would it mean to you to beeing asked to pray? I mean, how yould you conceive the act of praying in a world of conscious (or increasing conciousness about your) beliefs where the image of God as a bearded grandfather doesn't fit anymore and where Buddha (the 35 of them as all the dakas and dakinis) is a self creation issued from voidness (and don't misread me, I find that 'technology' and what I understand of it now, very effective) Let me finish by telling you that after beeing a bit shaken by that injunction (to pray) not knowing how to take it, not sure what it meant, nor how it should be done, it came to me (an insight?) in my last meditation that a simple form of 'conversation' with what was going on inside could certainly be stamped as a prayer... and the love, the peace that I felt around afterwards seemed to fit as an answer... So do you pray?... how and what for? |

Yes.
While deep in meditation, often after toning, after becoming very quiet in self, after intending and asking for the Light of Source to surround, envelope, and fill me up, i talk to the Creative forces. I most often generally pray for help and guidance in becoming a more clear channel for Source's Light so that i can ever more be a channel of blessings for others, in my everyday life. I ask for the help for the strength, clarity, and awareness necessary to attain that more and more. I pray "not my will, but the Creative forces Will be done in and through me" And i bring up feelings of gratitude, appreciation, and love towards the Creator for giving me this beautiful gift of life, and generally towards Creation as well. Meditation isn't much good without some kind of prayer, and vice versa, prayer isn't much good without some form of meditation. Ones passive and receptive, and one's active and moving. the practice of both set's up an important circular flow of energy within self. |

thanks for the journey detail Jazel, I enjoy them. I work with the common symbols found in such travels.
your story brings up several things. I noted where you started to become more lucid, to ask the question what you were doing there. this means you were starting to take control rather than be in a subjective environment. it also indicates it is an out of body experience much different than a dream environment. but you knew that. do u think the man (I think he was a helper) told you to "shout a prayer?" this is a clue how to operate once you find yourself out there, that emotion (shout) = equals self empowerment, while prayer can be likened to setting a good strong intention. a good strong prayer/intention will give you more grounding in these areas, less confusion, and more direction. I too have been saying a lot lately, not my will, but thine. Thought it more than coincidence to read Justin does this. It always calms me down if i have a conflict. I think this type of prayer is good because it releases uncertainty, a type of fear, so that it's easier, as you did accomplish the love and peace you felt afterwards, that for me personally, and I assume you too, tells you u r on the right track, even though there may be some confusing elements to the experience, sometimes later, we can figure out the why and how, for instance I was perplexed the stethoscope was a device used for propulsion in the obe....then it didn't do the trick, so hmm. I should get out my symbol book, but offhand, the stethoscope is used to listen to the heart, so in a way maybe your subconscious guidance was showing you how the heart could propel you forward in these endeavors... well at any rate, thanks! |

thanks to you (u) :) laughing rain
for what I (i) might call insights as i did not think at first (as brought up in the story) that it could be shouting and praying (both) since there was a single word/image produced but rethinking about it all (and of my reaction reading your post) u must be right the time it took for me to react at the first imp (shout = crier ) as probably rather meaning pray (prier) clearly brings forth the awareness that two meanings were present and I thought that it had to be one OR the other ignoring that it could be one AND the other confirms the resistance i might have to hear/accept the first nice shot! as for the stethoscope (thanks for the correction) :) i think it wasn't brought accurately here as it wasn't actually offered to me as a device travel but that i thought i could make such a device out of it forgetting/hiding it's prior use: to listen to the heart or was it that i just didn't want to hear about that issue? turning it around as soon as i had it in hand to divert it's fonction of course, it couldn't work that way around since it was a hearing device like wanting to use a loudspeaker as a microphone or a telescope the other way around so thanks for that one too! //////////////////////////// and Justin are right. it seems the heart is being here the 'heart' of the subject your prayer is eloquently brought and the point of linking it to meditation IS essential like exercising your voice through vocal drills won't make a singer out of you! i think each occasion we have to enlarge the vision including but going beyond the religious scope (no matter which one and best when including more than one) adds credibility to that belief intelligence, understanding and power to it's 'technology' -- does that make any sense ? |

I see prayer as, sometimes, a way to talk to one's self. It can be reassuring.
Lately, I have been "feeling" prayers. What I mean by that is, consciously "aligning" myself with my grounded center on a regular basis. It is a "solidifying" which is also accompanied by "willingness" to be guided. It takes only a moment. Of course, this has little to do with being "out" for me. It is more of a way of acknowledging a positive reality. See it, be it. That kind of thing. Be the peace you want to see. And, of course, gratitude. I think all of our thoughts are heard and understood. Interesting description of being "out" and I would like to hear more. love, blink :) |

Jazel:
When I pray I say: "To God, Christ, my higher self, and the beings of love and light who help me. I didn't always pray to Christ, but then I had some significant experiences and received messages which told me that he is there to help, and he has helped me significantly. I figure there are other light beings who can help us. Thus far, only Christ's name has been given to me. Regarding whether it feels as if you have control of an experience, I've found that spirit guidance pretty much leads experiences that are intended to help you, just as it does so during some of your dreams. Have you noticed that you've had dreams where it didn't seem as if you were controlling what you experienced, yet things worked out okay? For the most part, I figure that only beings who have the divine right to help you, are going to have access to your consciousness to an extent where they can determine what kind of experiences you have. Just to be certain, it is good to pray and ask for divine help. This help is liable to play out in a manner that surprises you. When you see that you are provided with experiences that help you, and are reflective of good intentions, you'll know that you are in good hands. Some of these experiences might be symbolic and/or training exercises, rather than occurences of someting that actually takes place at a level beyond your own experience. |

including but going beyond the religious scope (no matter which one and best when including more than one) adds credibility to that belief intelligence, understanding and power to it's 'technology' -- does that make any sense ? ____ U must be in France Jazel? its amazing the whole world is on this board! :) enlarging the vision capability makes sense. Going beyond the religious scope makes sense, but will often create holy wars to attempt it. Adding credibility to our beliefs is like asking science to help us figure it out. which is happening, just slowly. Technology can be our downfall if it becomes more important than the heart of the matter. I'm glad u got something out of my post, person in France. this internet one example that technology is not bad in itself, if it brings people closer together, to communicate, where possibility, without internet, I don't even know if you exist. so I do conclude spirituality, not religion, spirituality is our oneness factor, and would be needing science to join in with that. someday. sooner the better. and good thing about spirituality, it's just you and me, a oneness concept, can hardly start a holy war over such a simple premise, which if I were god, I would put in my petition to especially stop holy wars. of course, not that god listens to me specifically, however, everyone is free to petition god. A little about that shouting prayer stuff. u seem to understand it well. I just write here to understand myself better in one sense. Looking back on some of my obes and lucid dreams, which are related levels of the same thing (to me) Nothing would develop in my life unless I got mad when I discovered there was something I wanted to change. you've all heard the saying why can't I get anything done unless I'm mad? I think this is where a person can utilize the emotion with a logical intention to truly accomplish a change in self. thats why shout a prayer brought up for me this stuff. I noticed in the science churches I went to nobody was emotional. they were just using the stoic left brain. whereas in the churches where they were rolling around on the floor, at least u could tell they were alive. what I mean is religions are fine, we just need to find the balance between scientific logic and participating with emotional quality also. must be an inside job in the end, so I do prefer my journeys and studying how I create these experiences, for what purpose and how may I improve on my character within my philosophy of universal brotherhood by utilizing these obe and/or dream experiences? its downright fun!!! is why I like reading of others who do it. a lot of folks don't remember any dreams even. its said we dream nonetheless, whether u remember or not. what helps us remember a dream, is for me, the emotions that impress memory of it. there will be logic attached to the emotion. Like a shout will say I WANT THIS! 100% I want it. like a super prayer. Blink is practicing the now moment. Blink I found this leads to maximum velocity in the spiritual centers. and its the same thing as a state of grace to be in constantly, or as they would say in the old days a state of having faith in god, or good to win out in every circumstance. Being in the now moment in C1, as a conscious practice, produced as well a change in my obe's. I now carried myself differently within the obe, with more confidence, I suppose is a good word, as the way I learned to walk carefully in C1, to walk in trust, I began to carry this over to the obe station, which is like a knowing god is with me, for he would never desert any of us, except that we turned our face away. and now we enter science to spirituality. a friend of mine is helping me; she calls god "all pervading intelligence of the heart path." its in the air. love, alysia |

Hi,
Yes I pray every day for my loved ones, peace on eath, freedom from suffering and pain and for love to come and rule the earth. May the Prince of Peace" come and rule the earth. I a finite being approach the infinite God with deep respect and humility and he answers my prayers in his own wise way. alan |

Hi Jazel-
Thanks for the story. I especially like the woman who disappeared. For me the entire cosmos is a single unitary object. There are occasionally things that I do that might impinge on others, at which time I often tell everyone who is listening, from God on down, that I'm doing those things, and to please look out to not be bothered. Prayer is a basic form of meditation "with seed", the "seed" being the focal topic of the mind, usually on God, but possibly on other important issues, such as change. Except for the times that we want something, simply pointing the mind, letting it become aware of the parts of the world that we usually overlook, like spiritual things, is quite effective, and leads to inner peace and inner silence. dave |

Thanks Dave:
"There are occasionally things that I do that might impinge on others, at which time I often tell everyone who is listening, from God on down, that I'm doing those things, and to please look out to not be bothered." never thought about it that way... |

I like that way of saying it too Dave. kinda reminds me of sitting in a dental chair, the dentist kept asking me to just raise my hand if it hurt. this way he reduced my fear right away.
love it. |
