Title: Are dreams more that just brains processing info
Post by smacdonald2007 on Aug 24th, 2007 at 12:46pm
I find the entire topic of Near Death Experiences, life after death, etc really interesting. While open minded- i am neither sure or unsure- but i like hearing about people's experiences - such as NDEs-  out of body experiences etc. However, i have never had a strange experience myself.

I ahve heard claims such as recently i had a familiy member die and another family member told me that the person that died appeared in the car (while he was driving to the funnel) and spoke for 10 mins. I am keeping an open mind - that is why i was doing reseach and lead me to this board.

However, here is a really interesting fact that i can't explain.

My brother and mom had a very strange occurance that involved a dream. Last Feb or Mar - the same night - my brother (whom is an adult and lives 500 miles away from my mother) dreamt that he was being chased by a dark being (or force). My brother was scared for his life-but could not wake up. HE fall in his dream and the dark force caught up to him and was above him. As my brother looked up in fear - he saw an AX swing through the head of the dark force that killed it . My brrother then describes waking up in a cold swaet.

Meanwhile the same night - my  mother dreamt that my brother's live was in danger and saw him being chased by a dark force. She knew that it was going to kill him and that she had to do something so save her son. She picked up an ax and swing it at the dark force and killed it. She then woke in a cold sweat and only told my dad about the dream.

A couple of days later my dad mentioned this dream to my brother - whom stoped in in mid sentence, turned white, and finished the sentece. The odds of both my mom and brother having this dream the same night as Astronomical--next to impossible.

How can this be explained???

Hello SMacdonald:

Perhaps a dark spirit was after your brother, and while out of body in the dream state, your mother stopped it from harming him. There are things that go on while we are asleep that we don't know about.

Another possibility is that two symbolic dreams were used to tell your brother he is protected.

I've analyzed over a thousand dreams over the past few years, and found that I receive many spirit messages through them.  Some have them told me about future events, or informaton that couldn't be known in a regular way. I also have short waking dreams that do the same.

We aren't alone. We have friends in the spirit World who look out for us. Of course we have to do our part. They can't spare us from negativity if we choose to indulge in it in some way.  Our actions can have consequences on various levels.

Hi Smac-
Notice Bruce's post on partnered exploration. It does indeed happen.

Wait until you get married and as you reach for the phone to ask your wife a question she turns out to be dialing you with the answer. You'll be a believer for sure.

You might be inetrested in three books that deal with this general area-
one is Mental Radio" by Upton Sinclair, in which he deals with sleep and dream content transfer. Another is John Dunne's "An Experiment With Time", which deals with much the same thing from a different viewpoint. (I have trouble with his math, but his material is both sound and thought proviking.) Also there's a study on sleep by Michel Jouvet called "The Paradox of Sleep" The Story of Dreaming".  Jouvet is a hard core scientist and does his best to interpret the bizarre things that occur in certain sleeping states. His analysis is neurological, but once we see what he is describing, we can see it in a lot of other accounts of dreams and sleep. All three of these are easy reading, nothing technical.

hi macdonald. thanks for that shared dream. love to hear about things like that. it shows how family are connected, like a love bond causes a tracking device to be installed upon each close relative.
see, we are not so separate from one another as it seems.  am currently working on my next book (simmering) about dream symbology, messages, other lives, out of body experiences, anything related to what I call a genuine experience, not just a dream, a forerunner of reality is the dreamstate. as well, like stepping outside of linear time into a no time zone.

well, might take me a few to get it done. love, alysia

Smacdonald2007,

If both dreams were really that exact in detail, that is truly amazing but certainly not unheard of.

We've realized that dreams are not just dreams anymore.  They are just one form of perception, just like waking consciousness is one form of perception, and OBEs are one form of perception, etc.

In your brother's and mom's experiences, for some reason both were joined into the same reality, both perceiving there in the form of a dream.  You might call it dream perception or dream reality.  It really doesn't matter.  As with any reality, what is perceived is interpreted by each individual.  In their respective experiences, they seemed to have very specific exact details which adds even more intrigue as to what the purpose of this experience actually was.  Did it have anything to do with a real dark force or was the dark force only symbolic of something else going on in your brother's life?  There are many questions that can be raised from such an experience.

Dreams are MUCH more! I know this from personal experiences. Maybe it's because I sleep on my back and get very comfortable (maybe even meditating), but it's during the subconscious state that my astral projections and what I consider visions happened.

So yeah, dreams are much more.

I've had out of body experiences while laying on my side. I figure the spirit friends who help me go out of body, are the same spirit helpers who create dreams for me.
