Title: What do spirits look like?
Post by EliteNYC on Aug 15th, 2007 at 12:38am
For the people who say they see spirits or angels... what do they look like?

Thanks.

If your asking what they look like in the physical as opposed the higher dimensions. They look just as they did when they where in there physical bodies. The only difference being they are transparent, well at lest the ones I've seen are. Some say they can look just as solid as you or I, but I personally have never seen one look solid they always have a see through appearance, ghostly, LoL

i think they can also look like a colored ball of light...   from what i hear that's how they normally look in the afterlife, but then can transform into any shape, such as their physical body from their last life to appear to people they knew

Iv seen a lot of them, and they are solid,The one that stands out in my mind is my little playmate, who died 60 years ago.At that time I was a school crossing guard. When all the kids were crossed.I went to my car to drive home, when I saw another little girl coming down the road.As she came near,I noticed she was dressed defferend from the other.Than my mind raiced back in time,I almost fell over,It was mary my little playmate who died at the age of 9years.I could hardly open my mouth to say something. Her hair was fixed in ringlets common for the time of her death.I said your hair is nice, who fixted it,she said i did it myself.as she said this, her mothers face began to form on the side of her face.I knew her well.she died at the age of 80,but when I saw her face here, she looked to be in her 20s.with that she just vanished. That why I think we are living in a world within a world.By the this experience is in a number of books.George ps And she looked as solid as I am.

I had only one experience where a spirit looked just as physical as anyone else and interacted as if completely physical.  At first I thought he was a normal, physical person but then he appeared one night out of thin air, and still appeared solid.  By the way, I wasn't the only one who saw and interacted with him.

On other occasions I've seen spirits in my mind who could interact within my physical environment.  And another occasion where I saw a spirit with my physical eyes who was superimposed on my physical enviroment but not interacting with it, i.e. he passed through things.  He looked solid as well.

On another occasion I saw a spirit who appeared in the form of a cloud, not like a mist but like a cloud from the sky, and very solid.

I haven't yet figured out if there is anything that I did on these occasions that made my seeing them possible.

I had a couple of experiences as a child where I thought the person was in the physical because of their human appearance, however, they were in spirit form.

As an adult the ones I have seen and interacted with have elongated bodies of white light.  They are rather tall and non-descript however they do have some human facial features and hands.  They seem rather serious and communication with me is through either knowing, feeling and sometimes hearing.

With my eyes open I tend to see them as points of light. Kathy (Lights of Love) informed me that this is how they are seen from the crown chakra. Occasionally I'll see spirits that are a mixture of white and blue light and the size of an upper body. I've also seen them as orbs of light that looked different than what you see in photos.

When my eyes are closed I see them in whatever matter they present themselves.

That's pretty amazing. Can you elaborate? How can you be sure he wasn;t just a normal person? Did you - and others - actually see him pop out of thin air and later disappear again?? Or maybe he's a normal person who has just figured out how to become invisible or to teleport himself!?

Hi Orlando,

There's a lot to this story that makes it quite amazing.  In 1996 I developed a bad cough for an unknown reason.  For two months I heard in my head a real voice, every day, that said, "You have a tumor.  It is centrally located".  Of course this was the most bizarre thing I'd ever experienced.  I had no idea what to think.  Had no clue what it meant or why.  I never told anyone and never went to the doctor.  I thought they would call me crazy.  Then one night I awoke from a sound sleep because my 8 month old baby was crying.  He had never cried in the middle of the night, ever, so we were shocked he was crying.  I mean, it just wasn't something we were used to.  Once I sat up in bed the cough began again.  And this time it was so much worse it got to the point where I was severely hyperventilating and I literally could not get air into my lungs.  After a few minutes of gasping for air I began to cough up blood.  It came up in chunkfuls from my lungs.

Once I got to the ER and they x-rayed me, they discovered a tumor inside of the lower lobe of my left lung.  It was about the size of baseball and had broken open a blood vessel which had slowly leaked blood for quite some time.  The x-ray showed that such a large portion of my lungs were still filled with blood.  The amount of blood I had in my lungs before coughing up large amounts of it was enough that I should have drowned in my own blood.  It was amazing that I was laying on my back sound asleep, with my lungs filled with blood.  Had I slept even so much as another hour, I would have died.  It was amazing the baby decided to cry and wake us up at that point in time.  Like i said, he was a baby who never cried before.

In the ER when they told me I needed surgery it scared me to death.  I was afraid of what the tumor meant, what if I had cancer?  What if I died during surgery?  What if I had complications with the anesthesia?  I was terrified.  I prayed to God to please let me live.  In my prayer I stated that if it was my time to go, then I could accept that.  But that if I had a choice in the matter, then I wanted to live!  I finally ended my prayer with, "please just let me know if I am going to die or not.  Just let me know somehow.  I just don't want death to be a surprise".

In my hospital room the night before the surgery I met a man who came into the room to talk to me about the surgery.  I assumed he was a hospital worker, although he wore plain clothes and had no name badge.  My family met him too, and he seemed perfectly normal.  But when he talked to me privately alone, preparing me for what to expect the next morning before surgery, he began to tell me things that no one could have known.  He told me what time my husband would arrive in the morning, right down to the minute.  He explained that my husband would be running late because of the baby.  He told me what time my brother and sister-in-law would arrive, and my parents, etc.  He explained exactly, detail by detail, what I could expect the next morning.  I was dumbfounded.  I had no idea what to think of this man.  How on earth could he know these kinds of details?  As it turned out, everything happened exactly the way he described.  All I could do was just shake my head in amazement.  The last thing he told me was that I wasn't going to die.  He said that the surgery would go fine and that I didn't have anything to worry about.  I didn't believe him.  I was so scared and I thought that he was just being nice and trying to take my mind off of being scared.

The surgery did go fine and all was well.  After the first couple of days after surgery I was doing better and better.  One afternoon my nurse told me that she would allow me to sleep the entire night alone.  Up until then I had a nurse come check on me about every hour to wake me, to turn me over, to check my vital signs, etc.  I didn't get much rest that way, but she said I was doing so good now that she would allow me to sleep the whole night.  Well, that was great up until 2:30 in the morning.  I woke up wide awake, having gotten enough straight sleep that I was fresh and awake.  But I laid there thinking, "well now what do I do?  It's way past visiting hours, I can't call my family, and I'm wide awake".

Then I began to think about the nice young man who had come to comfort me before my surgery.  I remembered his presence was so loving and kind, the kind of feeling I've never, ever felt from anyone before.  His very presence had me in awe.  I laid there thinking, "I sure wish I could see that nice man again.  He was such a comfort to me".

And that's when all of a sudden he popped into the room right out of thin air.  I am not exaggerating here!  It stunned me like you would not believe!  He stood there beside the bed with a soft glow about him, smiling so lovingly down at me.  I exclaimed, "It's YOU!  You're here!"  And he said, "I'm always here for you Vicky".

He said, "Remember when I told you that you were not going to die, and you didn't believe me"?  I said "yes".  He said, "I want you to know that it was my job to come here and tell you that.  It was my job to tell you that you weren't going to die".  I know that at this point my jaw was on the floor and that I couldn't believe what I was hearing!  He reiterated that before my surgery I wanted to know if I was going to die or not, and that it was his job to come here to tell me that I was not going to die.  "You needed to know that, and I came here to tell you".  At that point I remembered my prayer to God, my silent prayer that nobody knew about.  I hadn't told anyone that prayer.  And yet he knew exactly what that prayer was about.  Just the fact that he appeared out of thin air to me was amazing, and yet here he was telling me that it was his job to tell me I wasn't going to die.

This was the most amazing experience to me.  I'm not a religious person, but I do pray.  My idea of God means what it means to me, and everyone has their own beliefs.  But here was something so amazing, a personal answer to a prayer that could only mean that whatever praying to God meant to me, it meant that my prayer was heard and answered.

This young man then sat on the edge of the bed and prayed with me, although I don't remember the exact wording, and that's the last I remember.  I woke the next morning not having memory of having fallen asleep.  When the nurse came in I told her about the man, about who he was, how I'd met him before the surgery and about how he came in at 2:30 in the morning.  She didn't know who he was and said that no one had come in the room.  She said, "The nurses's station is right outside your room.  No one came into your room last night.  We don't allow visitors at that time anyway."  I knew this experience was something very amazing and very powerful.

Wow, thanks for taking the time to tell me that story Vicky, that is pretty amazing.

I don;t for a moment think you made it up, but the skeptic in me is saying - could they have been dreams or hallucinations and it just seemed real, but it certainly sounds like it was very different from how dreams normally are.

Also, you say other family members saw him. Did they talk to him? Did you ask if they remembered him afterwards? Was it an unbroken experience from him coming in, meeting your family, them going, and then him starting to tell you this in-depth stuff about the next day etc? i.e. the experience went directly from the "ordinary" to something extraordinary? Are you 100% sure about the predictions he made and that they each came true? Did you have any physical contact with him at all? Did he leave behind any physical traces of having been there when you woke the next day?

Just now I was saying to myself "could he have been some sort of member of staff after all, and he was just referring to times when your relatives had booked to come the next day and reassuring you etc" but I re-read the account and that doesn't seem to explain it - especially not the after-operation bit!!

Anyway, what a wonderful experience to have - it must have made a huge impression on you. Also the whole thing about the voice in your head warning you about the tumour etc and the "coincidence "of the baby waking you, you must really feel like someone is looking out for you  :)  Shame you didn;t listen to the voice sooner, but it's always easy to say what we should have done with hindsight. Do you say you never experienced voices like this before?

Have you experienced them since, and have you had any more contacts with this young man? Do you feel he is some sort of guide or guardian angel who takes a special interst in you?

Sorry for the many questions. Don;t feel obliged to asnwer them all! This account impresses me and makes me realise again there seems to be plenty going on "out there" that there are no clear cut explanations for. I wonder how common such experiences are and whether they always happen at crisis points in people's lives, perhaps to give reassurance just when it's desperately needed. On the other hand I wonder why they are (as far as I know) so rare and spirits don;t materiallise to help in some situations where somebody could really have done with it - like someone standing on a brdige thinking of suicide or something - that would be the ideal moment for someone to pop out of the air and tell them to think again.

Wow, no I'm glad for all your questions.  Believe me, a day doesn't go by where I don't think about this experience, and it's been what, 11 years?  I actually hold that day as a holiday for me, July 25, and I celebrate it every year, not only because I got to live that day but also for the most incredible experience of my life, one that completely changed things for me.

I'll try to answer your questions.  Yes my family saw him and spoke with him as well.  My whole family was present in the hospital room most of the time, so several interactions with this young man included my family being there.  The first day he came in to talk with us at a least a couple different times.  That's why he seemed like a regular, physical human being.  We had no way and no reason to tell he was anything different.
And yes everyone remembered him.  When he told me the detailed account of what to expect the next morning right before surgery, no one else was present in the room.  This was perhaps later on in the evening.  Yes, I'm 100% sure about the exact details he gave which all happened exactly as he told them.  It was something like, him saying my husband planned to arrive at 6:30 am but would be running late because of trying to get the baby ready, and he actually wouldn't show up until 7:05.  Just funny details like that.  He knew things my mom and dad were going to do and say.  There were some strange details that I thought were not normal or necessary things he needed to prep me for, so that's why I wondered why he was saying them.  Now I believe that it was a little sign for me to recognize that this was no ordinary experience, him coming to visit me.  It just added to the amazement and memory of the experience, as if it were meant to help prove that this was something special going on.

I believe he did have physical contact with me.  I do remember him sitting on the edge of my hospital bed a couple times, once before surgery and once after, as he asked if he could sit and say a prayer with me.  Like I said, I'm not a religious person but if someone wants to say a prayer with and for me I don't push it away.  Everything helps, especially good intentions and acts of love and kindness.  Once he was sitting on the bed I think, but am not sure, he held my hand during the prayer.  Again, I had no reason to think he wasn't a regular man.  The thing about feeling his presence, it was like the air around him was so pure and brilliant, and the love and kindness that came off of him was like it was radiating from him.  It's the kind of awe feeling that makes you completely forget every pain, every problem you've ever had.  You are in such awe that you completely forget anything about yourself at that moment and are completely focused on that wonderful feeling you're getting.

There wasn't any physical traces he left behind.

About the voice in my head warning me about the tumor, it wasn't like what you hear in your head when you think in your mind, it was like hearing a physical voice except I heard it inside my head.  The voice had no dialect, tone, or characteristics that I can describe.  It was just a voice.  I've never been able to figure out a way to describe it.  Yes, I've had it since this experience, and i've also had it prior.  At the time of this experience, I didn't remember having had "the voice" before.  But since I began documenting my paranormal experiences for my book I'm writing, I remembered an experience with this voice at least as far back as 1993.  It told me to get the phone, as I was about to lay down for a nap, because I'd be getting an important phone call.  Ha ha, I actually "argued" with this voice in my head, (just the same physical voice as in my tumor experience), and it persisted in telling me the phone would ring and it would be important.  I was mad but got the phone anyway, took my nap, and about 30 minutes later I awoke to the phone ringing.  It was my friend's 12-year-old daughter calling me because she was home alone, could not get ahold of her mom, and she needed to get to the pharmacy for a new inhaler.  She had asthma and her old inhaler was empty.  It wasn't life threatening, but she was scared and it was important to her to get help, so thus it was an important phone call.  It was weird, though, that voice.  I always wondered "who is it anyway??"  By the time of the voice about the tumor, I hadn't connected the two experiences, didn't really give my "weird" experiences much thought, but I did think about them off and on.  Now since writing my book it's been fun to look at all my experiences clumped together and realize what an amazing life I've had because of them.

No I have not had anymore experiences with this young man, not that I know of.  Perhaps we meet and interact with people like this all the time but they give us no proof that they are something extraordinary.  I mean, really if he had not popped out of thin air to me, I probably would not have ever given him another thought.  It's when he did that and then explained about why he was there that I really put two and two together and realized what had taken place.  I've often wished I could experience another encounter with him, albeit under normal circumstances.  I wish I had had the presence of mind to ask him a bunch of questions too, but I was pretty stunned and amazed.  I guess it's like running into your favorite celebrity and being so star struck you can't think of anything to say until it's too late.

At the time it happened I didn't really give much thought to spirit guides or angels.  It wasn't something I was into back then.  I didn't not believe in such a thing, but it wasn't something I was into.  At the time I remember thinking that he must be an angel, that this is what an angel is all about, answering prayers.  After this experience I read every book on true angel stories I could find, and was amazed to see how many people have had such experiences.  I didn't talk about this to anyone for one year, and finally I told my mom.  She was so excited she ran to get my dad and have me tell him too.  He said I should never be afraid to share that story, never be afraid of what people might think.  What they think is up to them, but at some point a story like this will reach someone who really needs to hear it.  And he's right.  I think about all the stories I've heard of other people's experiences that have really made an impact on me.  Take Bruce's life story for example.  What I've learned from him changed my life.  If he had been afraid to share his experiences, I wouldn't know what I know now, wouldn't have had a lot of the experiences I've had because of him.

As for who this man was, I would simply guess he was a representation of our connection with our higher self, and our connection to God and Consciousness.  Whether I call him an angel, guide, or anything else really doesn't matter.  Perhaps if I were a religious person I may have seen him looking like a saint or something.  Who knows?

Again, I do believe many people have these kinds of encounters, but the person appearing to them may give no visible signs that they are not of this world.  They may just walk into our lives and we just assume they are a regular person.  I think if people really pay attention to coincidences in their lives they may start to realize that they've had extraordinary experiences too.

:)

I must be in a flip mood; when I saw your question, I just wanted to say, spirits look like me! I am a spirit! I just  happen to live in a body for now.

Ha then I read Vicky's account of Encounter with a person who turns out not be "real". That's pretty interesting. Thanks, Vicky!

I was thinking this over again, and it occurred to me there is a halfway house between him being physically there and it being your imaginiation, which is that he was there in some sense, but not actually in a solid form, but then I read your new comments, and also it doesn;t really seem that important anyway.

It's weird about the precise predicting the future thing - I mean if our actions can really be known in exact detail what happens to free will etc? Oh well, that's another topic altogether.

Thanks again for telling me about this. I found it fascinating to read about it. What a wonderful experience! Also, apart from the fact he didn;t leave any physical traces, it seems to add credibility to the experience I talked about in my Elizabeth Kubler-Ross thread - where she said someone visited her from the afterlife in physical form.

Thanks for sharing that story Vicky.  Amazing!  I think that when you woke up several days after surgery at 2:30 am somehow emphasizes Bruce’s point that our non-physical experiences are stored in that area of consciousness where they occurred.  Essentially thinking about and remembering the young man again so intensely returned you to that area of consciousness where you could meet again.

What a wounderful experience for you vickey. You know we dont think how imporent an experience like this is,ontill a while after.I had one where a man came from nowhere.I was on my way home from work, when I got a flat tire.It was snowing and very cold like it always is in canada.I saw a clear spot on the left side of the road.As I pulled over, another car pulled up in frount of me.At the time that this happened I was coming down with the flue, and not feeling very good.I got out of my car,and this man came around and told me to get back in my car.he asked for my keys so he could get the jack and spare out of the trunk. It was than the I saw that this man looked like he came from the office,as he a suit and tie but no heavey jacket on.he had nothing on his hands.I asked him if his hands where cold.he said no.in though it was 15 below zero.He quickley changed the tire.I told him that there wernt many people around like him,and he that there are.with that he got into his car and pulled out around me.now there was a strait road that we were on,as he pulled out,as i stared my carI looked in my mirrow.and his car was gone.It was as if he and the car just vanished. How many people have had these experiences. There must be quite a lot.George

I had an experience with a man, he seemed physical and his friend was physical too. they were bikers.

I wanted to know if there were helpful people in the world, and would I be safe to travel? could I rely on the universe to assist me or was I all alone? sort of like is it a benevolent world or just dog eat dog? that sort of thinking.

so I had a dream I couldn't steer and pulled into a road stop to get it fixed as very scary not to steer. there I asked the man at the head if they had mechanic guides on this side of the veil? he said mam, we have everything you could possibly need on this side. then he said your road angel is right over there...the mechanic soon had my steering fixed and we did it together.
then in Real Time I did lose my steering on the road and pulled into a convenience store and a biker was standing there in front smoking a cig. I cautiously approached to ask for a screwdriver and walked back to my car. he followed offering more assistance and we fixed it. then I remembered my question, was I taken care of on my journey of life? the timing was perfect. I pulled in, he was standing there in the front, in the middle of the parking lot, like we had an appointment.

I said are you broke? (trying to offer money) he and his buddy laughed and laughed and said not all bikers are broke but he accepted from me a soda. I was dying from gratitude to find him. it changed my whole outlook on life.

Thanks for the  story, but I feel a bit unsure if it was supernatural. Could it not just have because it was snowing that his car seemed to "disappear" as you looked in the mirror?

just my opinion George needed this experience and it was a NP (nonphysical) helper, that if George hadn't of received help it might have changed his destiny, like freezing to death and it wasn't his time.

I have several friends whose autos turned into jello substance when passing thru another auto and a train for one of them. this shows our world to be insubstantial, an allusion, a movie we participate in. things are not what they seem, and people are not what they seem here.

It is my belief that in this instance, these predictions were given for me to recognize the situation for what it was.  I think that from this man's perspective, being that he can "see more of the bigger picture" than what the rest of us can, he was able to see into the future so to speak, see these silly details that would be coming up.  For him it was probably an insubstantial thing to know.  To us it's really bizarre!

We do still have our free will, we always do in my opinion.  And I do believe that we set things into motion for ourselves way in advance without us even realizing this is happening.  The decisions I make today could be setting all sorts of stuff into motion down the road that might not even have an obvious connection to what I'm doing today.  It's definitely an interesting concept to think about.

Rob, you certainly hit the nail on the head!  Good catch in recognizing that concept.  I too realized that while writing my book and talking about this story.  But it is also almost a which-came-first sort of thing.  I usually look at the sequence of events in this story and think that because I was thinking of him, that is why he came to me at that moment.  However, I can also look at it and say that his presence was already there, and because I had been "exposed" to his presence prior, it was therefore easy for me to recognize it from that point on.  Because I was now able to sense him and think of him, my thinking of him placed me in the right frame of consciousness and he was now able to do something extraordinary that is outside of the normal framework of things, such as popping out of thin air.  He obviously had the capability of doing that extraordinary thing from day 1, but he didn't do it.  Reason being I wasn't ready for it.  The sequence of events opened a pathway for my getting consciously prepared to handle and accept such a thing, thus widening my framework of reality just a bit.  Had I been the type of person not able to accept such a thing, it either would not have happened or I simply would not have seen him pop into the room.

Thanks Alysia, glad you like that story.   :)

And I agree with you...George's experience does sound like he was helped by a nonphysical helper.  I think we tend to only judge experiences by the details and forget to look at the feelings we get.  I'm sure George had a feeling about this fellow that gave him reason to believe this wasn't an ordinary circumstance.  Then you take into consideration the odd coincidence of him showing up at the right time, not being dressed for the weather, changing a tire that fast despite the fact his hands should have been freezing, and then disappearing from sight.  It all adds up to one of "those" kinds of experiences, the kind most people just shrug off as weird but never consider it could be something out of this world.  I think just being open to that possibility makes more of these experiences possible for us.

I can see the progression in my own experiences, and I see that had I not realized some things for what they are, then new experiences would not have been possible.

you're absolutely right Vicky we can shut down our sight and mind to such things so easy. my friend, whom you know too had this experience with the train going "thru" his car when he was a teenager and he said he just forgot about it, too mind blowing to think about something that happened that is not within one's context of belief. now he's 64 and he finally admits to himself it did happen.
takes us a long time to be accepting the laws of physics, gravity, whatever you want to call it, can be circumvented, miracles happen, PUL happens, destiny changed, new decisions made, we are not alone. you have your fellow, he said he was always with you, you must know this is true as he doesn't seem like a liar.
we have guidance, but nobody really knows this until they accept it might be true.

[It is my belief that in this instance, these predictions were given for me to recognize the situation for what it was.

:)

Yes, it's interesting, but one of those questions that have no definite answers, I think. Maybe he could see a small way into the future, with, as you say, some fairly insignificant details. If it was possible for anyone to see our whole futures, that would be weird. But yes, it can be argued that, say you were ominiscient and knew all the exact thoughts and actions and movements of every being and particle in the universe, you might be able to calculate some distance into the future as to what the consequences of the current situation will be.. One would like to think we do have some free will and aren;t completely determined by what actions and thoughts we have had before etc. If not it seems to make existance a bit meaningless. However when I look back at my life and see mistakes I made etc I can often see what pattern of thoughts and beliefs and behaviours etc (on my part and on others') lead up to me doing what i did. You can only help that as you grow in wisdom and experience, they can help you nudge things in a better direction on the whole

I said are you broke? (trying to offer money) he and his buddy laughed and laughed and said not all bikers are broke but he accepted from me a soda. I was dying from gratitude to find him. it changed my whole outlook on life.

I think the most interesting thing here is how real life mirrored the dream. I wouldn;t necessarily be amazed that a tough guy biker was helpful. You can;t always judge by appearances (but I'm sure you know that and that's not exactly what you were saying). But then it is always nice when a stranger is kind; it boost your hope about the human race. I think part of the teaching about love, for example from Jesus or the BUddha, is intended to encourage us not to see love and compassion as something we keep for our families and friends , but something we should also feel for any other beings who share similar experiences, hopes and fears, joys and sufferings

Wow, Elite---excellent blog!

I have had spirits of persons who are still living come and visit me, when I was a child. I had three cousins come into my bedroom and play dolls with me and when they left, they exited through the wall.  I was heartbroken.
I had a deceased friend finally come to visit my home, as she said she would, and she sat in full physical form on my rocking chair and smiled at me as I passed by her. I said, " You finally came to visit my house, Nanna", and with that the image vanished.  I also "did  not see a spirit" of our deceased cat who was lying inbetween my husband's legs after his major bladder cancer surgery.  I called upon her to help heal him and when I walked into the room, there was the distinct impression of the cat's body molded into the hospital blankets.  When my husband woke up, he told me that his cat was here with him and told him that he would recuperate (because his cat told him so). Several days later, I told my husband that I had prayed to the cat to protect and heal him.
I never have seen a spirit in transparent form.  I don't see beams of light, I do see rays of light.  I so see transparent auras, no color in the auras for me. Each individual being has an individual essence and you will perceive that being according to your own esoteric sensitivity.

Spirts do not always materialize, only rarely, and only to those whose 3rd eye is opening and who wish to make contact for a reason, for their learning, for their yearning or desire to know or it is a loved one who needs to make contact to solve the grief stricken.

animals do continue. I used to think their little light merged into their group consciousness but this is not always the case, at least not while we are needing them, for their love. I lost my first pet, a chihuahua in my 20's. I failed to watch him closely and he wandered away. every day I would listen for the sound of him returning through the flaps of the doggy door. no such luck. I grieved to know if he suffered and was it my fault?
one morn while half awake I felt his little legs jumping all over me and I groggily tried to awaken fully, rejoicing I had another chance. He also made the happy sounds of excited breath. He had never sounded so happy, it was excitement for him, his news to me. as I opened my eyes I was disappointed his body was not there. yet I know what I felt and I chose the message he gave to me, his name was Snowball as he was a rare white chihuahua. his message was he was with others where he could run with the big fellows he said. he thought he was big, the others let him show off in love.

I was ok after that. I went to the pound and got another dog. I never found out if Snowball was deceased or just had been taken by another family, but he had heard my call for him and responded in love in his astral body and that was just what I needed so badly.
although spirits do not always appear in form, another way they can come thru is the inner ear..most often to hear a whole sentence, or recieve a strong feeling with a thought from out of the blue is when you are hearing a nonphysical being, and most often it is very subtle and easy to brush off thus.
if a thought comes and you do not know where from, and is unconnected to what you were just thinking, u could be communicating with your guide, or a loved one in your family. just say thank you and remember what they said. the full import will come later. love, alysia

I like the story about your dog  :) That must have been a comfort to you. I can do the listening with your "inner ear"thing, and hear all sorts of comments which are like when you talk to yourself in your head, but that don;t come consciously from me. I can also have a dialogue with them inside my head - making my own conscious comments and listening to the response. It is just a certain way that I "tune in" inside my head. But I don;t do it too much because in the past it pretty much aways seemed to be that negative spirit, who I don;t want to encourage. Very occasionally though, I might get a positive comment that pops through my head, without looking for it, while I'm doing something else. So maybe it's like using a ouija board - if you just open up and let anyone talk to you, it might not be a person who is helpful to you, so you should just aim to be as positive and loving as you can be in your life and let positive spirits come along and contact you in their  own time if they want..  :-?

thats right Orlando. one has to be discrimating all the time. once my teenage daughter with her group used the ouiji board as entertainment. soon she was hearing voices whenever she did not use the board as well. this bothered her and she told me about it and I told her how to close down her filters again, that they would go away. they did. just the fact that one is aware of them is what makes them interested in a person.
when you are not interested in them, the filters will close.
attracting a master teacher is not the same as attracting the astral floaters, or as you say the neg that you didn't want.
to attract the master teacher for instance which is also a spirit or guide on a higher level of knowledge than ourself, I would make supplecation for awhile every day to find out if I was ready for that. I didn't think I was. I thought it took much preparation, but really all it takes is reaching the end of your rope.

one day I walked into my kitchen distractedly and heard a voice say "I am with you now." and you can tell when it's a higher entity by their vibes and because I was thinking I would never know when I could be initiated into the higher realms of thought and get out of the rut I was in (like pattern thinking) belief systems which are limited or negative.
some may think they don't need a master teacher to be there. if any have been to the pitts where suicide starts looking good, you DO need the master to appear.

but you know to be discriminating already Orlando, so you're fine.

Thank you  :) I'll try that - the asking for someone to help me when I'm ready type thing, and not so much just "opening up" and letting anyone who feels like it talk to me. Yes, I've felt like you describe at times, but fairly rarely and it passes. Sorry you have too, but I dare say it's not uncommon, unfortunately. Thing is not to act on it, as you can't know how life will look later on down the line when situations and your outlook might have changed.

right Orlando. theres another type of suicide is when people give up fighting when they are already with a disease. they choose to let the disease take them out when they have other options, like you say, something appears to change your mind.
