Title: here's an idea Post by blink on Aug 11th, 2007 at 8:49am
I wonder if this might be possible?
Say that a woman never has a child in this life, but the idea intrigues her. What if she were to "put herself on ice" after death, or, of course, her relatives do it for her. Then, at such a time when cloning is perfected, and one of her relatives down the line wants more family members, or perhaps she has given the rights to science so that the child could be born under other circumstances, a new version of her will appear in the world.... This original woman might leave as much of "herself" behind as possible, in the way of writings, pictures, videos, objects she treasured.... If reincarnation is possible, then perhaps this original woman who had herself cloned could come back into a physical body on earth. She might actually live with or near her own clone, in this next life. So, it's all good, right? love, blink :) |

And then, what if the "mom" (or the DAD!) overshot the "time" marker somehow, like, maybe she couldn't come through in that particular time "portal" after all. But the "clone child" knew the mom was "supposed" to be around, somewhere. The mom/dad had left all those records, after all. It was a given.
So, the "clone child" might do the same thing? Have it's own clone created down the line in the future. And so, the two generations have these "replicates" down here at the same time....possibly. Could make for a complicated family tree...here a clone, there a clone. b :) |

I was thinking more along the lines of not cloning, because I've heard that there's problems? but I was thinking along the lines of what the aliens are doing. they take a woman's egg and grow a baby in a uterine similalator. what they end up with is a sort of bald humanoid which needs love. which they never heard of love. so they then kidnap the donor and say ok, give it some love. lol.
I was thinking we could develop a uterine device just as well, monitoring the fetus closely in a lab would mean fewer birth defects, and picking out our own DNA characteristics, and eliminate the 9 months gestation in the donors body. might seem artificial and bizarre right now, but I can see the benefits. and as for the human touch, you can love something just as much through glass as you can when its in your belly. can't say I really got into the mother thing until the kids were 3 months old anyway. was not fun being pregnant, tired all the time. |
