Title: What if we knew.
Post by george stone on Jul 22nd, 2007 at 1:09pm
What if we knew all about being in the spirit before we were born?Do you think we would be better people, than if we did not.Get what I mean.Jesus knew he came from heaven,so he led a good life,We might have done the same,if we knew for sure that we came,or were sent here,in the first place. What do you think.George

Hey George!

I was just reading Bruce's 3rd book again today and this very subject is in the chapter i just read! From what I understand is that if we came to this earth knowing about everything, where we came from, what we are here to do, the meanings of our experiences wouldnt have any significant effect because we already know what is to happen if you see what i mean. we wouldnt get the emotional impacts and life meanings that came with these experiences and wouldnt grow from them.

Bruce explained it in his book as going to see a movie, if you knew what the movie was all about and what happens and the ending there it wouldn't hit you as much as if you didn't know, so what would be the point? With our limited awareness we have the opportunity to learn and grow and progress which is part of the reason we are here in this earth life school from what i understand.

Sorry for the long explanation, trying to watch live earth as well! Hope that helps somehow

I agree with Ryan - but fortunately, since we have free will, we are part of the unknown future evolution of the world etc, so we have no danger of knowing everything in advance.

What I am curious about is the fact that we seem to set up a few incidents in life in a very general manner, so evidently we have an idea of the future, but it remains uncertain.  Perhaps it's like shooting the rapids on a raging river - Everybody can look ahead and see the ripples and some of the rocks, but nobody knows just how we're going to manoeuvre through them when we actually get there.

As a specific example, I can look ahead at my physical condition and make a pretty good estimate about how I'm going to leave this place. But I have no way to guess at the actual experience.

George, I understand that feeling quite well!  :-X  Oy - mea culpa!

I now have an 18 year old grandson who is intent on marrying an unemployed woman four years his elder. Both of these kids are seemingly incapable of holding a job as yet, and have noidea about marital details such as "eating" and "housing" and other technicalities of life.

If God were to whisper in their ears that it's time to get their stuff together, I'm not sure that they would be able to hear and understand. If you recall, at 18 you were unique, you were immortal, and everything could be made to work if only you could get a grip on it. And when in doubt, love seemed to conquer all. And besides, we were being led through the world by our gonads. Later on, forty years later, things look a bit different.

I think that we're stuck with free will and the necessity to figure it out for ourselves, because this is the only way that we can bring ourselves back to our Origin. Whether this is a curse or blessing is a matter of opinion.
