Title: How to evaluate the role of death in life... Post by Lucy on Jul 20th, 2007 at 12:41pm
You may have heard about the young woman who, as a senior, was raped and murdered at U. Vermont last fall, during Family Weekend when her parents were there. Since she was a fairly sophisticated traveler, there was wonder about how this evolved, in a relatively peaceful college setting, even if it was late at night. We talk here of whether or not we chose our deaths, or how to make sense of the concept, especially for what is obviously a brutal and senseless death.
And there is no easy answer. At least, some senseless things can be turned to work for the positive. So here's the next part of the story, which has got me wondering about how it all fits together: http://www.boston.com/news/local/massachusetts/articles/2007/07/20/famous_women_give_voice_to_slain_students_legacy/?p1=MEWell_Pos3 |
