I believe it has to do with how many times a person has posted. I've posted a bunch of times. If you look at a person's profile you can see how many times he or she has posted.

The number of stars seem to be related to the size of one's ego, as evidenced by the amount we post. Five stars means a really big one.
It's like going to college where the degrees are: BS, More S, and Piled High and Deep. :-] dave |

Yes, Niner--- this was fun! It is soooooo good to have a chuckle. I started out with one gold star like you. As I kept responding to post ( and starting a few), my "status" as a member finally reached 3 stars!!!
