Is there anything else you would like to add concerning the experience?          We all make this time on Earth much harder than it needs to be.

Why is this so hard to learn!!! :)

Did you like the near death experience?? I believe she really met God... Her near death reminds me of Linda Stewart.. Linda is such a wonderful woman!! I talk to her via email.. She is writting a book right now and waiting for a publisher to publish it.. She won't tell me what the book is about though..

The interesting thing is that each experience is unique, even though there is a pattern to them. Mary W. doesn't seem to have read alot about them before her experience so she just tells what happened. She also writes very straightforwardly about what happened and her observations, like, before she agreed to come back, she knew what her original purpose coming here was, but once she came back, she forgot it again! That is a little frustrating. But it seems reasonable that we all probably experience that.

Great NDE! I loved it!  :)

thanks Skip, I think that's DaBears name if I remember correctly.

wow, a very comprehensive NDE and her body didn't have to die to get it, cool. I especially like this observation for the humor:

At the time of this experience, was there an associated life threatening event?          Yes     Grill of a Semi was in my rearview mirror.  ;D

not only did she have an NDE we can compare to other's NDE's, but she occassionally speaks to groups about it, and works in hospice areas with the dying to make their transitions less truamatic.

the NDE is chock full of meditation value. just a few notes I made: "It's the little things in life that count", that we do, that build our souls for the afterlife, such as small kindnesses. sometimes we just don't know, that we have done an act of love. in her review she saw her self worth as well her shortcomings were forgiven instantly.

also the same thing happened to her with Dannion Brinkley's NDE, his relationship with his wife ended as he was a completely different person upon returning to life, and so their patterns of relating were no longer there.  however she mentions that there was a 6 month period while her scientific husband adjusted to his new wife, so they were able to get over the hurdle.

also to further compare NDE'ers, if we were to remember every detail, we would become far too homesick to be able to carry out our lesson plan, or intentions for being here. I have read this in many stories.
she was given some future material, however, she forgot it and I do believe there is purpose in forgetting something; it would either make her too homesick, or interfere in some way with her current everyday life plan.

I'm going to link this NDE to another board I'm on, I think it's so plain spoken a lot of people will be ok with it. so thank you Skippy, I love you!!!

Yes, a nice sounding nde, but most are. A thing that puzzles me, though, is why so many of us folks are so ready to just accept these things at face value. DaBears, you said this account "proves" God loves us. In truth, it's simply something you read on the internet. In my book, that proves nothing.

I guess I share Robert Monroe's views on things, even though I don't share his wonderful skills. He worked with knowns and unknowns. Then he spent 40 years converting unknowns into knowns, not beliefs.

Wouldn't we, on this group, be better served if we held to the actual name of this group and directed our efforts towards actually proving things instead of just reading things on the internet and spreading them to others as beliefs?

Just pondering.

Regarding what asethaa wrote:

If you can't trust an experience that includes divine love, I don't know what you can trust.

I believe it is a mistake to believe that NDEs are less valid than OBEs. One would think that a person has a more complete disconnection from his or her body than they do during an OBE.  I don't believe that the presence of love and light beings can be faked.

I've had OBEs, and I had a night in heaven experience. The night in heaven experience seemed more certain than what I've experienced during OBEs, and matched up with what NDEs often say. I've also had experiences of divine love, and such an experience is hard to doubt.

Regarding accepting things at face value, one can say the same thing about the experiences of just about anybody including Robert Monroe. For example, should one assume that the Loosh farming story is true?

Dabears link doesn't work. It always works that way when you try to post an experience from the forum the NDE comes from. Therefore, I've posted the Google page where Mary D's NDE can be found.

Hey I don't need anyone to accept my beliefs.. I just want people to see what NDE rings true to their heart.. This NDE when I read it I felt it in my heart that it rang true and I was filled with joy too.. I have always believed God was more loving than what we can imagine.. It was always a gut feeling I had about God, even when Fundie Christians preached the opposite..  From reading Conversations With God, by Neale Donald Walsch I now see what he means about God showing us ways he/she/it is trying to communicate with us by our feelings we have about something or someone.. Also, I don't just go off of what I read on the net and take it as face value... I have done research on the afterlife for about a year now and yes a year sounds not like a lot. But I have OCD and this subject is where my OCD is uncontrollable.. So, I definately spend hours a day/night reading up on the afterlife and God..

I don't care if  you believe this NDE or not.. As long as it rings with truth to me is all that matters..

peace

Thanks for posting that recoverer and I agree with your post! :) The thing that trips me out is how close it is to Linda Stewart's NDE.. Both were raised in Christian/Catholic faith and had a view of a punishing God, yet they met the exact opposite..

You're definately right about unconditional love that feels euphoric can't be faked..

lol, Alex, if Cosmic can call me Chuckles, I don't see why I can't call you Skip! :D

I apologize!  this NDE will appeal to those who can hear it. Different strokes for different folks. I also find Monroe's accounts fascinating, but I also think it's fine to post links to stuff we resonate with in a sharing way, this is a board sharing afterlife thoughts of the whole world. sometimes this board gets quiet. heaven forbid. its good to touch base now and then with this here Dabears critter. I've never seen such an active brain in such a young feller.

People. As every big budget sci-fi movie tries to better itself from the rest with more advanced
special effects. As every new drama tries to better itself with more talented script writers,
actors, director, budget, etc. As every new comedy TV series tries to better itself with more
original joke material, actors, etc........So is the new age movement. Writers strive for more
realistic impressionism, words, composition...We have the the Academy, Golden Globes,
Emmy awards for the former....Maybe we should have a awards night for the latter???
Darth. May both sides of the force be with you. PS. Money and personal recognition is
the key here.......

I agree with you on some points and disagree on others. being a new writer with a book out I noticed somethings:
1) I am $1200 broker and I got $24 so far from the books.
2) I have no recognition, except I recognize myself

I agree with you about writers and new age or not new age do strive to be good writers.
we do have an awards system for good writers

would I do it again? Sure! It's worth it to write a book and express yourself. It's VERY hard work to get it right. money is nothing. a temporary satisfaction at best.

I think Mary wrote a very good NDE to the best of her ability, but you are entitled to your opinion too.  I agree all life is a stage, a movie, and so we must all be in costumes here, therefore we should play our roles to the best of our abilities and just use the poor language tools we have.
