About 2 weeks ago, Ericka's dog Dakota disappeared. Ericka's my oldest granddaughter at 21. He was staying at Alan's because her other dog is in heat. He disappeared from Alan's.

Around the same time, a friend who had COPD (was on oxygen 24 hours a day) plus lots of heart trouble had a heart attack, tried to get up and hit his head on the coffee table. Dan and I had talked about the afterlife when he was letting me use his car about a year and a half ago. I would take him to his doctor's appointments and also to court and also to be tested for alcohol. He'd had his license taken away even though he wasn't driving, but was sitting in his car (keys not in ignition) drinking beer. His parents died in the past couple of years of the same heart ailments. I had told him I'd try to contact his parents but I never had. He believed in the afterlife. I've been putting out a call to both Dan and Dakota for about a week without meditating.

This morning I put on the CD that Bob McKelvy had sent me about 6 months ago. I closed my eyes and went into an altered state of consciousness.

I asked to see Dan and found him in the Healing and Rejuvenation Center. His parents were with him. He's not awake yet, is going through a lot of healing right now from years of abuse to his body. I talked to his parents and they said they knew me through Dan after they passed.

Then I was sitting on the ground cross legged and there was Dakota on my lap. He was so excited to see me. I got very emotional and then here came all my dogs that have passed over -- Scamp, Cricket, Minnie, Mickey and Teddy. Then here came all the dogs that have passed over up at Alan's -- Taz, Clyde, Fluffy and others that I can't remember the names of now. There's a lot of cougars and coyotes up there, bear too, bobcats.

By this time I was crying so much I had to leave.

I'm glad I made contact with both Dan and Dakota. I just don't know how to tell Ericka. She called me yesterday with a dream she'd had. She said that an old couple with white hair had brought Dakota to her and she was so happy, then woke up. She asked me what it meant. I told her that it was either a prophetic dream and this will happen or that she was being shown that he's on the other side.

That's great Marilyn.  I wonder if you asked to see Dakota or if he just sort of popped in because he was happy to see you?

Rob, I had been calling for him and I did this on sort of the spur of the moment but intentionally, if that makes sense. I was planning on trying to contact both of them. But while with Dan and his parents, all of a sudden I was sitting on the ground with Dakota in my lap.  So you tell me. ;-)  

I've thought about this a lot since it happened. My Collie I used to have, Teddy, would go with me when doing retrievals. He woke up the people at the WTC for me. So I have thought that possibly Dakota is still in the physical and since I'd been calling him, he came. I still haven't told Ericka in case I'm wrong and is still alive.  ???

Does Dakota have to have died to be in a retrieval?
In a retrieval of a friend, her husband was with her, but when I checked on him later in C1, he was stll living,  (although in a coma, so maybe he thought he was dead.)

I hate to rule out any possibility. It seems we're just getting started learning about that realm 'beyond the veil.'

hi Bets, seems to me that since he was in a coma, theres no reason why he should have his I am consciousness confined to a flesh prison..excellent time to commune with loved ones..after all, there is nothing else but love if you ask me!

Thanks Marilyn.  Your experience with Dan was helpful and informative.  For some reason, though, I am really intrigued about the contact with Dakota.  I'm glad you met up.  Also, it's intriguing about Teddy going with you on retrievals.

Bets, I've been reading Kurt Leland's The Unanswered Question (came out after his book Otherwhere) and he indicates that there's what he calls a Holding Zone in the afterlife and that people on coma or otherwise not consciously here are present in that Zone.  Like Alysia indicated, no reason for consciousness and the non-physical part of us to hang around when our bodies are not conscious.
