Title: belief system crashes and discrimination
Post by recoverer on Apr 29th, 2007 at 7:09pm
I've noticed that people are quick to have belief system crashes when it comes to something such as fundamentalist Christianity,  but the same people are unwilling to have a belief system crash when it comes to something such as channeled sources.

Don, Rondelle, Doc, AhSo, George, Dave and myself, on various threads, have provided some pretty good arguments as to why the likes of Seth, Elias and Hillarion are false (each person didn't comment about every source). Nevertheless, the people who vouch for such sources paid no mind to what we had to say.

I understand why people are so quick to trust. They are good hearted people and like to have faith in others. Especially when spiritual matters are involved. However this is a big World. About six million people live in it. Certainly more than a handful of these numerous people will have a mind set that enables them to justify taking advantage of well meaning, good hearted people who are quick to trust. Who else are they going to take advantage of if this is what they have in mind?

About a week ago I posted the link for the below book. It wasn't written by a fundamentalist. It was written by a person who many would consider a new ager. He spent some time visiting with a number of channeled sources. He did so partly because of his trusting nature. Unlike the other people who attended meetings with these channeled sources, he took the time to investigate the past life stories the channeled sources shared. To the extend where he traveled to other countries to do so. Each channeled source he investigated was found to be fraudulent. He ended up commiting suicide after the spirits he exposed haunted him.

Check out the amazon.com reviews.

I'm not stating that spirits who represent the light never allow themselves to be channeled.  I don't know if there are exceptions. However, it is definitely possible that a channeler might be either a conscious or unconsious fake (when they channel their subconsious mind without knowing it), and in some cases deceptive spirits are channeled. As Ahso, Dave and I suggested on other threads, if you focus your attention on a channeled source that comes from a deceptive spirit, you might make an energetic connection to this spirit. Therefore, discernment is a good thing to consider.

Uhm..you are saying this as though its a choice to have a belief system crash.  Nothing could be further from the truth, at least for me.

You would not believe how many times I would love to go back to believing as I did before that July day in 2003.  But, it just ain't happening.  Its not a choice.  It just is.

As to channeled sources..I'm not sure which I believe and which I don't. I've read Seth.  I've not read Elias or Hilarion.  I have read Tobias.  I like Tobias.  Not sure I believe him either, but I like what he/Geoff says/thinks on things, though I haven't read that in a while.

recoverer,

I understand your posts, but as you pointed out they are just arguments, regardless of the motivation behind them. I don't think anything you or anyone else posts here will ever cause a "belief system crash" as you put it. The only thing that will be accomplished is that you will circle and circle until you get frustrated. The members of this board must use the information they get and intrepet its truth for themselves. The information you post will be considered or be dumped without regard. Debates and indecisiveness are not to be found here, but perhaps on another site. On the upside, I did think of how much joy you would take debating a gentlemen on another site who posted a five-part series of the Crucifixtion Hoax, as he titled it. Others call it Cruci-Fiction.

As I have stated before, I do not find a need to argue about any topic or validate anything I believe for the sake of another's determination or decision not to believe. Sorry if you can't accept that. But thanks for posting your opinions.

Boris,

I had to find the information again. Rather than posting yet another link, I'll just send the whole document to you. Be warned that the contents of the document are the beliefs of the author, whom I think has now converted to another religious affiliation.
