Title: So, what IS the dynamic equillibrium between w & s Post by Lucy on Apr 15th, 2007 at 10:26am
I am usually sleep-deprived and don't recall any dreams, but lately I have had a chance to catch up on sleeping and was loking forweard to maybe having some sweet dreams.
So I woke up one morning recently recalling a walk on a river where I saw an alligator ahead. Uh oh, not too sweet. I waking life, I thought things were looking up; I have been working as a temp at a particular company and they were finally planning to hire me. I felt good. So I didn't put too much thought on the dream I had right after the alligator dream. Just before waking, I had a fast-moving sequence, difficult to recall explicitely what, but it was as though everything closed in, imploded, no way out at the end, right before waking. In a few days, it was obvious that my hiring was being blocked by someone I workied with before. About to be made sort of manager of the department I work in, she told the boss she doubted the quality of my work. Someone I've known for 14 years, who brought me to this company. Well, I was harassed by theis person in the past, so I went to HR and told them about it (I am shortening a long story). Second meeting with HR, the HR person made it clear I would have to report to this person. She offered to meet with us together and see what we could work out. I declined. I was ready to be collecting unemployment! I felt that same feeling of things imploding, closing in, falling into a black hole, that I had in the dream. They ended up putting me in another department. But when I had the dream, I would not have predicted that is what it meant. But the feeling was the same. |

Hi Lucy, :)
I don't know where the dynamic equillibrium between waking and sleeping is. I'm only answering because my fingers enjoy trying to type words like equillibrium. Tee-hee :) Maybe you've not come to the point of equillibrium yet though, and that's why you asked. ---Wouldn't it be fun to have the money to invest our lives with meaningful symbology that arrives from such meaningful events ? For ex., I'm thinking ( and this is not a PUL thought) that it would be fun to buy her or yourself something made of alligator skin, and then every time it's worn, you could think 'bite me' thoughts :D---until you tired of it, and that would indicate you had achieved ta-dahh equillibrium ! ;) There, now the poison is vented. :) (I do seriously regret you were turned upon by a former mentor though.) Love, bets |

That was pretty funny, actually. I hadn't thought of that.
One thing about the symbols is that I used to dream about maps (sort of) and I've always thought it was funny how really old maps haver that little saying on them for unknown areas: beware of dragons. And crocs and alligators sort of look like dragons. Should I mention that this person is Chinese...or is that too un-p.c.She always has a nice bag, too, not a Coach person, but nice big bag/purse. So it is interesting how symbols are used by the inner mind. (this is probably not the end of it either...I'm polishing up the old resume and having chats with myself about how to create the environment I want to be in). But I think that dynamic equillibrium is what we are trying to discover. |

So last night I dreamed about a scholarship application for which my son is applying, an award based on being nominated and for which he had to write something. Now, it was due at noon today and he didn't get the form 'til yesterday, so I put alot of emotional; focus on this, so it is no surprise the dynamic equil. brought it into my dream space.
And I put alot of emotional energy into the job situation, though not in the same way, but it is no surprise I dreamed about it, what with the emotional content it holds. But when I TRY to dream about something, I fail miserably, probably don't manage the same emotional focus. But I can't seem to in any way contril the D. E. of it. |

interesting thread Lucy and Bets :) Lucy, I have the same type of dreams you do, where I experience the sensations and feelings that are about to manifest into reality. I noticed you picked this up right away, the "no way out" feeling which was the same in the dream.
perhaps a forewarning of what was to come, a preparation for you so you would be able to deal with what was coming down the pike. its a bit like a betrayal because I assume that you felt let down by a former friend who acted unexpectedly. so I saw the experience of feelings beforehand as preparation. I had such a dream once when a former tenant, whom I had bought a stove from, I was told in the dream he was moving and planning to take the stove with him :-X I was certainly glad to find this out, or I would have reacted in the event angrily and made things much worse. where did you get such a fine term dynamic equaillibrium? I like it! it sounds like a balance thing, or a justice thing. I also thought when I read it, that it is a "create your own relity" thing, then I read further down where you appear to be doing just what you said, creating your environment, or thinking about what you want to experience in the work place. the alligator is interesting symbol as is the shark. as both these creatures snap in a mindless way, like a machine, and in a sudden manner which would imply to be very cautious around them. ahh...I'm such an understater. at any rate Bets statement is interesting about alligator tough hides, u can let her bite your purse, you're in control of your life. |

"the alligator is interesting symbol as is the shark. as both these creatures snap in a mindless way, like a machine, and in a sudden manner which would imply to be very cautious around them."
You have no idea.....! "dynamic equillibrium" is a science term. But we all experience it...like, we are in dynamic equillibrium with respect to caloric intake and output as we all take in food and we all burn off the calories in different ways, but the system is never static. even though it looks static, you can't see yourself digesting the food, but it is a dynamic process. And usually we keep a pretty good equillibrium about it, we keep the same weight, but sometimes the eqillibrium point shifts if we either take in more calories than we burn or we burn more than we take it. ...Just one way of looking at dynamic equllibirum. So maybe there is a dynamic between waking and sleeping. Certainly we dream about stuff we are thinking about. And sometimes we dream about stuff before we experience it. |

so maybe the dynamic equillibrium occurred when you ingested too much flack and the office dynamics put you away from the alligator's teeth? :)

'But when I TRY to dream about something, I fail miserably, probably don't manage the same emotional focus. But I can't seem to in any way contril the D. E. of it." This role of will, or rather Wills, is exactly what is fascinating me now about this whole consciousness adventure! I may get a token dream a week or so later that shows like a short movie with a cameo apprearance by whatever I asked to dream about. But it has no answers to questions, no dialogue with other intelligence in order to hash out a problem. It just sits there a moment and then trails off like old dreams used to. So in effect I can't force myself to dream about important stuff either, but I can ask for a retrieval and immediately get it, if I'm rested . To me that proves that other higher entities are involved in the retrievals, and that dreams come from some resevoir of our own. Thanks for bringing this up. I've got an approach to the retrieval aspect of it over on R Forum under Fooling the Retrievers.--I hope some will give their two cents worth! Bets |

same here Bets and Lucy
I set an intention, something specific, a question, and a week or so later, hopefully sooner, but I generally forget when I "treated" for it, but it shows up in that cameo presentation idea you just mentioned. isn't it cool? :D I learned to trust myself that way. love, alysia |
