I quit smoking a week ago, and so far, so good.
I really think I'm going to get this monkey off my
back. Still, I'm kind of sad...
If smoking was as healthy for me as mother's milk
(or at least harmless!) I'd be a happy addict for life.
Unfortunately, at our time in history - medical science
is PATHETIC. Medical science has been in a state
of UTTER STAGNATION since the 1950's. Cancer...
Emphysema... Heart disease... they were all supposed
to be CURED by now. (That's what my teachers told me
back in the 70's, that they WOULD be..!)
(They ought to make 21st century doctors dress in tiger skins and
carry clubs... it would be a more honest P.R. presentation, based
on what good their profession can really do for you, and how
much they really know...)
So, the best time for ME to be alive, might not be the 21st
century. Give me the *31st century* then!
Imagine... if nanotech advances to where they can restore
health and youth to a frozen corpse... well, things like
smoking-related diseases will be child's play to cure or
prevent... right?
Sadly, in our time... if you want to be HEALTHY, you have to
live like a FREAKING MONK. THAT SUCKS, LEMME TELL
YA!!!
Imagine a world where you can smoke like a chimney... drink
like a fish... shoot heroin and meth all day every day if you like,
and still have the health and physique of Evander Holyfield at
his peak!!! (Imagine being able to FORGET about you health,
and just LIVE..!)
And if cryonics doesn't work... well, I'll be dead either way, so
what am I risking (unless there really is a "monster" type "God"
who is "jealous" and judgemental toward those who refuse to
pucker up and kiss his a$$, like certain of mankind's more
barbaric religions believe.)

Hi Chumley You will be like the rest of us, one day you will go to heaven,no matter what century your in,i would no way want to live forever,i want to go home oneday back to spirit,where i came from.

You will be happy when you get to spirit,because you can be whatever you want there,theres lots more choices in the spirit world than there is here on the earth plain.

You will have to go to spirit one day,you havent got a choice ,its the natural law.

Cryonics might be important for you in another exciting way.  You crave something you won't get--annihilation.  So after being bytch-slapped around your level-2 Swedenborgian Hell for a millenium or so, you may eventually get it through your head that you have no hopeful astral future.   After all, succumbing to the delights of PUL would be the ultimate admission of defeat and we mustn't grovel before God, eh?  Cryonics may be able to yank you out of your Hell and give you a new life in a freezer.  I doubt they'll be able to reganerate your frozen organs or thaw them out without irreparable damage. But they might be able to revivify your brain as long as it remains in deep freeze.  And who knows?  The climate in the freezer may be an upgrade over the climate in your Hell.

Anyway, I'm glad you've abandoned those 2-inch sticks of damnation!  If the Lord had wanted you to smoke, He would have created you with a chmney.   ;D

Do you really imagine that anyone in a hell recognizes what a magnificent and loving God of grace they have disdained?  No, hell is a realm in which ego is king, a realm in which you get to feel both "right" and "righteous" about your perception of both God and your unjust treatment at the hands of co-residents who are just like you.   That is your chosen learning curve.  And you are right: your victim-martyr act will energize your passion for revenge, and this same  act will also motivate your cohorts who lament their confinement with a misanthrope like you.  But what if you decided you were not a misanthrope after all!   Ah, such a wussy thought hurts your pride right now and perhaps forever.  B-man :o, grow and change?  Are you out of your mind? :o

-Of course, most people are un-philosophical, non-reflective blockheads. (They don't think about WHY they think as they do, they just take it as as "given". They just do what feels good, and DON'T do what DOESN'T feel good, with nary a second thought about it.) I assume that most of the "animated scenery" I'd be sharing my "Hell" with, would be that type of person (most everybody who has lived, HAS been this way..!)
I, at least, know WHY I believe, what I believe. I've spent a lifetime analyzing my own mind...
Who knows? Maybe that will translate into an advantage in "Hell." So

Well, eventually I'd end up in the "spirit world" regardless, as it would
be impossible to live FOREVER. I might live for hundreds of years
after I was re-animated, but sooner or later I'd have an accident, or
something.
I just don't like how SHORT earth life is, how you start getting OLD
before you have time to get wealthy, see all that you want to see,
ect. (And NOTHING any of you here can say, will make me think
that being RICH isn't the best possible thing in all of Totality! Other
people's "wise words" ain't no substitute for EXPERIENCE (AND I
think that I'm fundamentally DIFFERENT from those people who
either are, or get, wealthy and then feel "oh-so-empty inside" that they have to give up all their possessions, catch a plane to Kat-man-du, to see some stinky guru in a cave and sit around and go "Ommmmm" all day long. I DON'T think that would happen at all...)
I think being rich, WOULD make me happy... truly and absolutely.
But what good is being rich, without at least a couple of CENTURIES
to enjoy it?
Hence my interest in becoming a "cryonaut." (Might not be for
you, and that's okay. But for ME..? I think I could really go
for it..!)
