Title: If you were God
Post by george stone on Mar 16th, 2007 at 12:53pm
If you were God,would you make it clear the reincarnation was true? Can you see the pit falls If we knew it was true?Woman would not have and chiltren if they knew for sure it was true. There are maney things that God will not tell us,because it is better if we never know.We are only told of so much, and in my opinion it is fine with. What do you think.George

I'm not sure I understand your post... but I THINK you're trying to say,
that no woman would have children if they knew that reincarnation was
true.
Well, MILLIONS of women (Christian and Muslim) believe in HELL, and
that most people will go there. And yet these same women are the ones who pump out babies like machine-gun bullets.
And what's more sadistic and horrible, after all - reincarnation/rebirth (with a possibility of your next life, being a HAPPY one) or eternal fiery "Hell" for not being a good enough a$$-kisser?
What amazes me is that Christian women believe in the odious "Hell" doctrine, and yet can't keep their #@$&-ing thighs together when hubby wants some nookie. And so, a new soul faces "Hell" on account of two selfish idiots who were too lazy (or too brainwashed by their church leaders) to use a simple condom or pill!!! (Now THAT'S what I'd call
moral dwarfism...)

Wow, Chum...that was kind of....well....you know what I mean.

Are you in a bad mood?

George, it makes sense to me that we wouldn't know for sure. But, I just finished a meditation in which I felt that I merged with such light and love that nothing else mattered. It felt like....well...like every single particle and nonparticle of existence is only love.

It felt like...there was nothing else that I could ever need to know.

It felt like...there was nothing I could ever need to defend again, no position, no view of reality...

It felt like...just moving deeply into the darkness....and then being bathed in a radiant light.

The love and peace of God is beyond description, if that is what God is.  I don't want to use the word God, because my meditations in the last couple of days have been

being immersed in what is

which is Love.  It is all Love.  If only we all knew this we would have no need for life or death.  We would have no need for anything because all of our needs are met

as it is Now.

The need for an ego, a self...would vanish...in the Light of Truth.

love, blink

Hi George-
I'm kinda on the same side as B-Man. My children were definitely not planned - welcomed, to be sure, but they were not the specific goals of my activities. I can't see why reincarnation would make any difference to raging hormones - that would be the farthest thing from consciousness at the time.

Now if not only reincarnation were  accepted, but also the certainty of a spiritual existence, I think that Blink's experiences, and those of like kind through other yoga and meditative disciplines, would be sufficient to coax people to reincarnate simply because it's fun to be here.

In fact, were we to accept our personal responsibility for being here, which is the core of both aspects, we could get rid of 99% of the hassles in the world and work in areas that are enjoyable and rwarding. That could even persuade people to have more children - and to enjoy the process even more.

Well, for by far the greatest part of human history, having children was not a choice.   You just had 'em, unless you were a cloistered nun, and even then in times of war it was far from certain.

Even now a large percentage of the human race isn't having children by choice.  Over history, occasionally babies were drowned at birth, or laid out overnight on a Spartan hillside, but mostly people had them and people more or less raised them.  I don't see any fewer born among reincarnation believing cultures, in the past or now, than anywhere else.  I think the human population argument is a non-starter.

I do wonder if not everyone reincarnates (either because you only do if there's a good reason, like you got cheated out of a life you were supposed to have, or only if you really really want to, or something)  - I can see how it would be a bad thing to know who would and who wouldn't.

Or none of the above...but I reckon we'll find out eventually.  Unless of course my pet "as many different situations in the after-life as in this one" theory is true, in which case, even over there we might not know for sure, just like I don't know the normal social behavior of some South American jungle tribe, even though technically we're both in the same plane at the same time.

Some women, George, it wouldn't make a difference to them, they enjoy mothering and would continue to have children as children bring new life into a home that otherwise wouldn't be a loving place.

you ask if I were god..I believe we all are fragments of god.
but you are right that we can get the knowledge we need, only what we need to know, and  getting an overload of knowledge is not a good thing either and might even account for some of us who check ourselves into mental wards, as too much information is rolling around up there and not making a bit of sense. so if you are supposed to see another life, you will, if you don't need to, or can't handle it, higher self will decide for you what you need to know. and higher self is the part of you connected to god at all times.
and if we are all god, and linear time is just show time, then all of us are one and all our many lives incarnated are going on right now as our other selves.
on another showtime screen. love, alysia

Yes I agree we are all god and all one but the self and ego is necessary to experience 3D reality.

If there were a "god" outside of and seperate from us..and she revealed that reincarnation was definately true..I don't think women could not have children because of this.  The god concept, as I understand it, is a force that is greater than the mere human ego, so what I chose to do or not do would not bring the whole thing crashing down.

If I were god..yes, I would reveal more of who and what I was..not through ancient texts written to a primitive peoples..but more in line with reality as it is today.  More straight forward.  Not with silly parables and threats and rules..

Of course, I don't believe in the big sky guy sitting on a throne somewhere looking down and condemning people for having sex outside of marriage or eating a pig or a catfish.  Or believing that there are other gods and goddesses..

I agree, the self and ego is a necessary thing; I tried a few times to become egoless as if it were something I could do, like committing suicide spiritually. can't be done. the whole idea is that if there were a god being presiding over the whole, which I can't see it that way, I can see greater light beings with more wisdom and experience than myself, but I don't see a single light being to be the whole of god.
so, its hard to talk about these things in simplified manner for communication.
but back to my premise what love is, what unity is, what oneness concept or ontology is. I say for lack of other words, god accepts us exactly, the puny ego, as we are now, not as we shall become, and we cannot stop becoming.
that is what PUL is, I call it undistorted love. Just as we are, with our distortions and error thoughts, we are loved and we learn to love ourselves, so how easy to accept other's egos it can be, when we know we are equal beings.
we can not get rid of our egos and the ego is necessary as NSD says to experience this limited arena of ELS, but they can be transmuted into a finer light, we can burn off error thoughts and that's where the pure joy of our being alive is found and where our freedom of expression is found in the act of becoming.
Shirley and all, I am so proud to be a part of the NEW AGE with you!

It's an interesting possibility to consider that perhaps one of us really is 'god', and that the rest of the physical reality is merely a creation of his will. Thats not to say that none of us are real just that we are all seperate parts of him. Of course since I can only account for my own concious existance that would make me god and not you :P
