Title: When you really need guidance
Post by Kate on Mar 15th, 2007 at 11:46am
From a loved one who has passed on and you don't feel them around you as much anymore, what do you do?  Especially when you need their help because it involves a family situation?

I've heard that when a person isn't grieving a loved one like they did right after the death, the void isn't as large and therefore the deceased doesn't feel the need to give as many signs or visit in dreams.  Is having goofy- messed-up-make-no-kinda-sense dreams normal when you're trying to contact the person?  This is driving me crazy.

Can anyone offer any insight or suggestions?

Thanks a lot in advance.

I'd say ask for guidance, internal guidance, to lead you to whatever can help you at this time. A person, a voice, a feeling, a knowing.  Answers can come in lots of different ways.

You could always try meditating in the awakened, relaxed state they call "mind awake body asleep," and when you reach a sufficiently peaceful, relaxed state, lying down, with your eyes closed, you may find some answers that way.  You could do this right before sleep.

Or you might purposefully use that state to make your intention....for the answers you need and the peace of mind you seek.  Sometimes it takes more time than we like.

But the answers are there.

Hi Kate,

You said, "Therefore the deceased doesn't feel the need to give as many signs or visit in dreams".  So do you believe in this statement?  Let's say it is true.  Then all you need to do is show a need, right?  Why wait for the deceased to make the first move?  Set your intent for this connection you desire, or for the answer to a question, or whatever it is you want.  There are different ways you may receive a sign or answer.  Just because you aren't falling apart grieving anymore doesn't mean they can't get your message and you can't have any connection.

As for those goofy nonsense dreams, I hate those.  They seem like a waste of time don't they?  When I have those, I don't pay much attention to them and instead tell myself I'd rather focus on the dreams that have more clarity and directness.  That way, for one thing you're not wasting your time focusing on the junk and for another it is essentially a way to set intent on having more meaningful dreams.  (It's like tossing out junk mail...just throw it away and only focus your attention on the more meaningful mail!) The more meaningful dreams will come, especially if that is what you've focused your intent and attention on.
