Title: I wish... Post by th3digitalmind on Mar 4th, 2007 at 1:19am
I had as much faith and knowledge as you guys........I sit here freaked out about going into darkness all day every day... and the truth of the matter is......even if I knew there was an afterlife for sure, and there was some spiritual existence of energy and matter that provided us to live on which is just soooooo very hard to comprehend or understand or even think possible, cause everything about us is very very flesh related... in my opinion.... even if I knew all that to be 100% true then I would still be scared of death........people die every single day and it sadness me so much, I love my life and my friends and family.....and I'm very happy doing what I am for eternity..............I just wish there was some way of proving it without having to do the OBE stuff....cause I would probably just assume that OBE is only possible with a living body.... someone please save me :) I'm prob getting annoying by now, but this website is the only place that gives me an inkling of comfort.......even though I am still insanely frightened of death no matter how little i am comforted.

<3chris,
A warm hello and a wave from me. I have not read all of your posts but I read this one and thought I would see if I could help you feel better. Perhaps we can get to the root of your fear. Now please keep in mind that I am just a person like you trying to find answers, I am no specialist by any means but I have had some great experiences. Maybe something I have can help you find your answer. I do most of my 'traveling' without the OBE, it is not necessary. I am not very good at the OBE is why I use my mind instead. I find this way I have better perception through feelings, not to mention better visuals. More of that later, that is still a work in progress for me. I am going to learn to do better OBE though, just in case I am missing some experience there I can not get with my mind. Should be fun! If it were me, I would ask myself what my biggest fear is. I would try to keep this answer simple (and then later expand on it). For ex: If my answer was 'I am afraid of the afterlife', well then I would break it down even further. What is it about the afterlife that scares me? Keep asking yourself questions until you come to a place where you think you just might have hit a nerve. Then dig deeper there. Keep asking yourself questions and actively seek your answers. There is a wealth of information at your fingertips right here. It may turn out that once you know what your true fear is you will have the drive to find the answer you need. Then it is a matter of taking a journey yourself. Then can you truely appreciate. Your going to have to do most of the work yourself but I will walk beside you, so to speak, if you like. Oh, one more thing, if you run across a post that is offensive..don't finish reading it. Pass it by. This kind of post only serves to feed fear..don't give it that power. Pass it by. PUL, Stacy |

I am also a person who has had a lot of experiences with the afterlife.I have seen many people who have died, and when I see them they look just like they looked when alive here on earth.I once had forgiven a person, who gave me a lot of hate when living, but after he died,he came to me and thanked me for forgiving him. When I saw him he looked great, even smiled showing his teeth.I could not believe how happy they looked. This has really made a differnce in my life.I know when its my time to go,I will be just as happy as they looked. So my friend, you have nothing to fear.live out your life knowing that when its your time to pass on,you will be going to a better place than where are living here on earth.I hope I have helped you in some way.Love George.

My dear digital....
Do you believe that you are not more than your physical body? Why do you fear the darkness? How do you define the darkness? [smiley=engel017.gif] E. |

i like to think that we are more than our physical bodies........ but it just seems so illogical because all these thoughts ur having right now is because were tought in school language and understanding...... our brains are making us able to have personalities and think and be curious about it all..... if one of u got hit in the head and had brain damage, u would no longer think about life or death or the afterlife and would no longer be able to have oBE's u would just simply be brain dead...... its things like that to make me think we are just purely flesh and nothing else..... if we had a soul etc.... if we were in mortal peril or braindead wouldnt our soul consider our body useless and leave ...... what evidence do we actually have that we are actually MORE than our flesh

<3chris,
You need to discover for yourself, you can do it. Perhaps you need to decide that you don't want to live in fear any longer. Sorry if I stepped on your toes here, it is not my intent, but I think you have to really think about the state of mind you wish to live in. Only my opinion, but perhaps a point to consider. I wish you the best, Stacy |

Dear Digital,
Speaking from my experience alone, you are seeking to contain the mind (or soul) within the brain. The brain is the physical manifestation of the mind. The brain allows us to function in the physical and maintains its connection to the mind. Damage to the brain would prove troublesome for the physical aspect of yourself, but the spiritual aspect of yourself would be unhindered. The spiritual growth would continue to expand because the experience of the brain trauma would still provide an experience for the soul. Your questions are valid. Perhaps others here can add something different than the experiences I have given you, my perception. You ask what evidence we have for the soul? What evidence do you have against it? As it was aptly put once, are we not trying to measure the non physical with physical measuring tools? If you believe that everything you are is limited to the five senses, then that belief will be true for you during this lifetime; however, just because you cannot conceive of the spiritual does not mean it does not exist and that you will not continue on after death. This forum is full of us who experience something more than the physical and for some of us, we know what awaits. Others are experiencing and investigating. In the end, your own experiences, your knowledge gained, can be the only guideposts for the answers that you seek. I say this because everyone's experiences will differ from mine, though there is a thread of commonality among them all. Continue to ask your questions and we will help as we can. Hi the th3digitalmind link, If you can remember ever having the feeling of suddenly being woken up from your sleep with a fall, with the feeling that you have just fallen through or out of your bed, but in fact you haven't, then you have most probably had an O.B.E. and experience with the spirit returning too quickly. The reason why dreams are forgotten so quickly is because they are of the spiritual minds experiences and not so much of the material brain, thus the memories are mostly stored in the spiritual side of the mind and we are not always that perceptive of those memories. What evidence is there? Consider all the normal, rational people who have claimed to see ghosts. What do ghosts look like? Usually transparent, right? Well, transparent is another word for lucid, and lucid dreams are related to astral projections. Conscious mind is the level that we are most familiar with. It is the level within which our physical body develops and has much of its activity. The subconscious is that part of our minds that bridges the conscious self with the spiritual self. The subconscious is both in the body, and beyond the body, in the spirit world of timelessness. |
