Title: spirit guides Post by Kroan on Feb 12th, 2007 at 3:55am
When out of your body how does one get in touch with his/ her spirit guides? I've been out a couple times now and i've yet to encounter anything or anyone.

Greetings Kroan,
I think the traditional way to have them with you is to make arrangements shortly before you leave: Y When you realize that you have the time and energy for leaving, you contact them mentally with gratitude, tell them your intent, and ask their protection and guidance while out. Then the latter could include asking that a Helper accompany you and their presence be felt by you. I usually forget some part of what I want to say, but I'm starting to learn to make them a part of my life. Once we make them more a part of our lives, I don't expect we'll lose track of them as much. Bon voyage! Love, Bets |

Hi Kroan,
What does happen when you get out? I'm interested to know. I have trouble seeing spirit guides....but I've just accepted that. I try to feel for a "presence" instead and that is easier for me. Sometimes it "fills out" a bit but often, for some reason, I simply can't see the spirits even when I clearly feel them near me. It may be that, for my personality type, I might get so interested in the "guide" that I might not ever get around to the exploring that was my original intention ???? In any case, I'm still interested in your experiences. There may be more that is happening than you are consciously aware of, and simply telling your tales as your explorations continue might help you to remember. love, blink |

Personally, I more or less let any spook that wants to hang out come and do so, no especial requirements except that they have to agree with my definition of self as void - seems to work OK for contacting dead mathematicians and such.
When I do a past life regression with someone, I often ask if they'd like to hire a spirit guide. If they say yes, then I ask for candidates to come forward, sort themselves out, and make an offer. There always seems to be an available spirit to take on the job. Sometimes I ask for a specialist in some kind of healing etc, and these are also availaable. If you'd like to hire a spirit guide with no other assistance, my suggestion would be to write down their basic characteristics (do you want a dead witch doctor, a culinary assistant, a cosmic chiropractor etc) and offer whatever seems to be fair - such as making an anonymous donation to a favorite church or charity for their sake. Then decide how to meet your newly hired guide - such as in dreams, or a synchronous event of some kind etc. Put the "employment contract" aside and wait for a result. Then burn the contract as a sign of acceptnce of the guide. However, a regression and simply going into the spirit world and hiring someone is a lot easier. PUL d |

I'm curious to know what your experiences are too.
I haven't experienced a formal guide either, not one that I could see or talk to. I've experienced a guide who is "out of my league" as far as vibration rate, who I can only sense when he says something but otherwise I have absolutely no way of knowing he's there. What is interesting, is that I discovered this is the same guidance I have experienced many times in the physical, but again I only am aware of him when he says something. I agree with Bets that all you should need to do is have the intention of experiecing a guide with you and then expect to have one. My opinion is that we also often have guidance in the form of physically living people we know, who tend to show up in our experiences for a purpose, whether we consciously know that purpose or not. |

I would have to say that I agree with Bets and Vicky as my experience was first I asked for a name and I got "Carlyle", I thought this is BS, I want to see it in black and white...well that was stating intent..a couple of days later while dozing in my recliner, I saw an image of a magazine but a little too far away to read, so I thought come closer and it did, well then on the right page was a circled word...it was "Carlyle", I immediately awoke and thats the night I went out into the winter rain barefoot and "grounded" myself as I felt like I would explode..kind of a belief system crash...just one of several I have encountered in the last 5 years...but my journey into the afterlife exploration started in the 70s with different books on the afterlife, one being Robert Monroes, several others.
I have had a vision of Carlyle, looks a little like a Jed Clampett, only neat and heavier set, says he has lived many lives and the last one as a Norseman. But he is here, feels to be to my left side and behind me slightly...just perception I would imagine. Do I believe he is real? Absolutely! Without a doubt...hardly a day passes without a conversation of which I won't go into a long spill but I know he is there always. Again stating Intent is most powerful. Love, Ricardo :) |
