I retrieved a dog today who had been through a hard time (I knew about this dog long ago and thought I would go in and see if he was stuck. (I don't know if he was, but it did my soul good to work with him anyway) He had been badly traumatized before he died and I took him to my brother who is in The Park area and has been getting involved with healing animals there. That might not have been a retrieval but it felt good to offer help to this wonderful dog. I wondered what others think about retrieving animals? Vee

The only reason no one answered you yet is, IMO, that this question comes up frequently. The past responses and examples have mentionned that whatever has been presented to us or seems in need is a good reason to do a retrieval.  Cricket, Sunrise Chaos , Alysia, Vicky, Mairlyn, and I are some of those i recall who've done animal retrievals.

We've noticed that sometimes other self-values are part of the retrieval. For ex., my husband and I have always owned dogs but most of them were Russian wolfhounds  ;) and although we loved them, they were so beautiful that I wondered if we loved them as 'living sculptures.' So the dog that came to me for a retrieval looked like roadkill  :P --it was really hard to look at, poor thing.

(I'm writing this now because I'm overwhelmed by another post of yours and am trying to pull my thoughts together to reply to that one. :) )

Geez i'm getting late in responding to post here, must be slowing down in my old age... ;D

I don't think my experience was a retreival; but a few yrs ago  i lost a pet.
My female parrot she was 16yrs old and pass on from phenmonia.
Had her since she was 4mt old, used to feed/mix her baby formula and feed her with a small baby spoon, until she could eat on her own..lol
Anyhow one day a few yrs back i was missing her very much, so that afternoon i had a nap; she came and pay me a visit in my dream.
Don't know which focus level she was but it was beautiful, lots of tree/greenery and she look so happy, she  just flew down from one of the branches and landed on my shoulder with a big hello..hello..i was so happy to see her, she seems to have pickup a bit of weight cause when i was holding/perching on my hand i could feel her heavier.
So i just pet her and told her that daddy miss her a lot (funny that we considered our pet as  parents lol) they have a fee will and we do take care of them.
Well she seem very happy and had the feeling that i could always go back and visit when the need arise, and i did.

I remember Bruce once telling me a story of a woman who did a dog retrieval.  I wish I could remember the story exactly to retell it here...but I remember that him telling it to me had us both in tears.  

Also, I remember way back when I was about 17 when my cat had to be put to sleep.  I had him since I was 3, had watched his mother give birth to him even.  We were so close because I grew up with him.  Anyway, so when he died it broke my heart.  Long story short, he visited me in dreams for a while after he died.  These dreams were more specifically OBEs but I didn't know much about OBEs or the like at that time.  

I imagine the reason he visited me was because his death was so hard for me because I'm such an animal lover (actually a lover of all creatures big and small).  Although I could not make sense of it at the time, I knew these visits were real.  I made the mistake of mentioning it to a teacher who then promptly sent me to the school psychiatrist.  They couldn't find anything wrong with me except that I believed my dead cat's spirit was visiting me.   ;)

Also, I've told this a few times here, about another cat I had as an adult, who visited me (in the waking state) for 2 months past his death.  He kept coming until my husband acknowledged his presence, and then we both gave our blessing for him to move on.  

So I of course do believe animals have spirits just as we do.  Our pets can choose to visit us, and I would guess they can choose to stay earthbound or move on, so it would make sense they could also need retrieving as well.

So you went basically the same way i did 20yr ago...told my doctor i was seeing ghost and aura around people then...lol
He told me that if he didn't knew me since i was born, he was the doc that gave/help me into this world ..that he would put me on Prozac or something like that, and said never to speak to him again of those sort of things.!!
And i never did so scare i was of being put into a hospital, and never did talk to anyone about this for another 20yrs..can you imagine if we had internet and a site like this then..where we could have been in our exploring.
Better not tell them your doing retrievals now, that would crack up your psychiatrist... ;D

I think I didn't see your post until now.  That's funny about your doctor!  A few years back I "complained" to my doctor about something that was bothering me a night.  I told her I wake in the night to find that my pillow is shaking violently and I can't get it to stop.  I knew it didn't make sense but that's what was happening.  She looked at me for a few moments and then said, "Uh, it's just stress".  (I no longer mention things like that).  

Years later I began learning more about OBEs and realized that is what I was experiencing.  I wasn't actually physically awake during these, but was in the transition stage of an OBE.  Since then, when I wake up in the morning and my pillow is thrown across the room I realize I must have had another one of those experiences!  It makes a lot more sense now.

Hi Vicky, everyone..  A topic near and dear to me as well.   Vicky, I can sympathise, as I had a cat from 9-25 was crushed when she died.  I was not 'awake' or 'aware' then however, so no idea if she tried to visit me...

I have since realised even the Bible says animals have souls the same as us.  Genesis 3.   I'm not a christian type believe me!  I just think it's one of the many bits of truth within it.   Veganism here I come.....

I did not see this post nor look at the forum after 7 pm last night but if you notice in the Dream forum here I dreamed about George Clooney shortly before waking this morning.  His pet pig was in my dream.  We were having a nice visit at his "home" with friends and other "pig friends" were around too.  

I think the pig died sometime recently....will go check on that and return here to update.

I tend to think our pets are safe and sound somewhere out there.  Perhaps we visit them sometimes unawares.

Recalling his best memory of Max, who was often featured in interviews with Clooney (who referred to him as "Max, the star"), the two-legged star said, "Oh, there are plenty of them. He got me in a lot of trouble that pig, in general, (and) scared the hell out of a lot of delivery people, too."

Clooney – who had informed USA Today that there would be no successor because, "I think Max covered all my pig needs" – was also overheard at the premiere as saying something about cremation.

Here's a question I have for you guys:

Is is possible that an owner and a pet could be checked in on if both have passed on?

If so and if anyone is interested in maybe checking on them, I would be ever so grateful if you could tell me how Randy (the human) and Willie (the doggy) are doing?  Randy passed in November and all everyone kept commenting on was that he would finally be reunited with his faithful hunting dog.

If I could do it myself I would.  Even if no one doesn't want to, I've enjoyed reading all the posts in this thread immensely.   :D

I saw your post the other day, and later that day, did some exploring, not looking to check on Randy, or his dog, but was surpprised to hear a helper say, in thought form, "Randy and his dog are fine". With coming back to C1, after exploring the spirit Hospital in 27. I was amazed that I would bring back that information.

I guess it was a message that just had to come through.

Through the link of love, humans and pets alike are eternally conected.

I, myself do not ussually go seeking other spirits, I help teach others to do this for themselves, unless I am asked personally, and time permits.

I just can't tell you how much I appreciate the information you gave me.  I'm so incredibly happy.  Randy is my Dad and Willie was our Golden Lab Retriever.  I think the first time I ever saw my Dad cry was when we had to put Will down.

My Dad died of cancer in November.  He was raveged with it as a result of being exposed to Agent Orange in Vietnam.  I have had several signs from him, all of which occured right after his passing  such as flashing lights, having my hair pulled, hearing stranges noises, hearing musical notes in the dead of night - just to name a few.

I will have to refresh myself with the different focus levels, but it's intruiging to me that you heard this message after visiting 27.

Again, thank you so much.  I miss him something terrible.  :'(
