Can someone please explain how Monroe and TMI came up with the focus level numbers.  I understand that it’s a somewhat fluid area but I wonder about the missing numbers.  Were there intermediate designations used until TMI (or Monroe) came up with what they felt to be a stable and definable focus state?  What happened to the missing numbers?  I’m curious.  Thanks for any help you can offer. - Rob

As far as I know the actual numbers do not really have any meanings except for the fact that the higher the focus level the higher the vibrations of the level. The numbers themselves are about as meaningful as street names. Nothing happened to the missing numbers, the levels just skip a few numbers here and there for a reason I am not sure anyone knows.

I think it's true what oobDude said, but only for the beginning. The later/higher numbers are, so I suspect, influenced by the number seven. There's a channeled entity called "Miranon" (if I remember right channeled by R. McKnight) who suggested there's groups of levels of seven.

I think you must be right Spooky. today I was just talking about 7 levels, but I remember DaveM telling us to multiply 7 x 7. maybe Dave will help us with the numbers.. never been good with numbers myself but hear Einstein ascended on them. it helps me RobC. to think of it as consciousness layers with no sharp definitions. it also helped me in the beginning to think of the library as being on F27 and also the akashic records on 27. just gave me sort of a focal point if I had an intention to be exploring.

Thanks all.  I just wondered about the missing numbers.  As meaningful as street names.  Levels of consciousness with fuzzy distinctions.  Good descriptions!  That’s fine by me.  I think I’d be concerned if everything was laid out and pinned down.  So many of the books out there try to tell us that “this is exactly how it is and what it looks like”.  Yeah, right!  That’s why I’m glad I found Monroe’s and Bruce’s books.  Consciousness is fluid, changing, and beyond pinning down. - Rob  

cool.  :)  that really clarified for me too what Spooky said, that levels are like street names. then we could say, we might have a map in front of us with street names. this brings it to my level where I'm trying to make a bridge between two worlds and this map is what I use, and somebody else made the map.
I resist maps as some of us drive down the street and intuition says ok, turn left if you want to follow your sense of direction, but you have to know that up means north on a map..am I making sense? :D

one time I needed to find my little sisters real address in CA. I didn't have it as she had just moved there. It was her turn to care for our mother and she was avoiding this responsibility! :(  everybody in the family took turns, my way of thinking!
I was getting ready to drive mother where she would be happier anyway. all I got from my sister on the phone was promises...but I knew also she had a good heart she just struggled all her life with jobs and housing. never stable. too bad, mom comes first, it was the end of her life, us kids was all she had.
so moving along to the point..in C1 I pulled out a map as at least I knew the town. I burned into my brain the freeway route by staring at the map (maybe we can find focus 23 or 27 by making a map and staring at it?)  I was also emotional while staring so emotions are some kind of fuel worthy of mentioning (motivation?)
all the while I don't know this but I'm making this intention to project to her house and find her in my sleep.
so that night I traveled the same freeway and somehow I knew which exit I could take..the sign was an exit number, it didn't say the town, but lead to the coastline of the town. I recognized the exit when it came to reality time to do the trip. a good feeling for one who is always lost on the highway when driving :P  (don't like maps)
in the dream or projection I sort of floated and sometimes I was driving a vehicle. I even asked directions and was given them by other travelers or guides who seemed slightly invisible but followed me thru it.
all this talk is because I still study intention setting, its very important in C1. its like making a firm decision. if we can't be decisive, then we can't get anything done, just ask me!
so I'm floating along and haven't a clue where her house is but follow this long road and suddenly I'm in her house that she just rented and I'm studying the layout and just observing that she's in an arguement with her son who doesn't like to hold a job. my sisters plate is full and about to get fuller. her son has a live in girlfriend who likes mustard. I see mustard spots in their bedroom. I think, hmm. mustard leaves a stain. I observe the layout of house. I want to talk to sis but shes too busy trying to get her son in line. she glances at me and continues arguing. I look to see if there's space for mother here. this will give me a clue if I'm doing the right thing to bring mom here. this plan has to work for everyone. I see my nephews bedroom is going to be vacated. I know its his room because its got plants in it and a few tools he uses in his landscape job..and a few mustard stains..lol...I get my answer that mom will stay in this bedroom temporarily as I don't want her in the living room. I get a good feeling its going to work out.
next day I call sis and find out her son is going to stay with his father for awhile, the bedroom will be empty, and I find out what kind of work he does. its working for a landscaper, but sometimes he doesn't show up for work, so the reason for sis on his case. I also ask about the mustard stains which were just yellow spots to me. sis says oh, and she laughs, his girlfriend has this thing about mustard on everything!  sis doenst think much about my obe visit . I'd already visited her once before in my astral body and she was able to see my astral body standing there. I'd been trying all night that time. I succeed in projecting but didn't remember standing in her bedroom that time. that time I laughed and asked her what did I say? Nothing, she said. but you made me wonder why you had come.
No reason I said, I just missed you and wanted u to know I think about you and how u are getting along.

and thats the long and the short of it, that what appears as a dream can be actual info you can get about the future. it can set your mind at ease whether what u are doing is right or wrong.
