IF the universe was to end, it wouldn't be for trillions of years. However, there is no time in the afterlife. The laws that apply in this universe that we live in currently do not apply in the afterlife.  I can't imagine how anything happening in the physical universe could affect the infinite afterlife.  If the physical universe were to end by say, being sucked into the largest blackhole there ever was, it would actually probably take an infinite number of black holes to consume the infinite space of the universe... but just going along with what your proposing... everyone inthe universe would die and would go on to the afterlife.  That is my opinion.

I believe the physical universe is a part of something which is much "greater", of course, time and space are terms from the physical, so my view that I see it inside of something can't be understood literally.

If we take the state of science, all came from a point with no extension. The beginning isn't explainable by science, it's a sort of start out of nothing. So, there is definitely something that we can't get a grip of by physicalistic-scientific means.

We are all essentially One, part of the whole, nothing can whipe out the whole, nothing can wipe out infinity.
