Title: my obe
Post by curiousgeorge on Nov 17th, 2006 at 7:44pm
I had an out of body type experience last night or the night before.  I tried rolling over and managed to get out of bed all the way to the door before I was pulled back. I experienced my presence as an invisible warmth floating above my physical self. I also seemed to be contained inside my front brain and looking into my eyelids. I got up out of bed over and over again but kept going back. I heard a noise but it wasn't as painful as I've experienced it in my obe's before. It wasn't painful but my mind seemed to have purposely put me into that state so I could try it. I was happy to have gotten all the way to the door. I just remembered it but I was awake while I experienced it in a sense. I'm glad that I remembered the idea of rolling over. It was hard to do but it really helped  because then I knew I was having it. It's a strange feeling to be inside and outside at the same time.

What exactly is the purpose of having an out of body experience though if you can't get very far. I've always been pulled back by a string when I got as far as the door. I guess that it could be my silver cord. I definately feel like I am being yanked back by a cord.

does anyone have any suggestions for techniques in obe's?

Hi cg,
I remember Monroe wrote that the nearer he was his physical body the stronger was the pull of it. When far away, he didn't felt this pull anymore.

In my mind journeys, when I imagine to float near my appartment above my city, I have to be very focused of what I think. For example, when I ponder where to go next, every thought makes me "zoom" to that place. So, maybe in an OBE you should try to not think so much about your physical body as it could draw you to it, but focus more on the place you want to go to.
