Hi George-
No, I never heard of "underground hypnosis". Maybe it's a new grassroots movement. dave |

Hi George,
Some say that hypnosis 'brings up' past situations that we have >buried< in our subconscious, so in that sense alot of hypnosis would deal with what's 'under ground'. Maybe it's a new term to separate 'under ground hypnosis' from hypnotism that deals with spiritual journeys of the future, NDEs, etc where our memories come from contact with spiritual guides while soaring above C1. Did your Guide use this phrase? bets |

I do hypnosis daily in a clinical pracxtice, plus teaching others and training hypnotherapists. Certain facts -
It is not possible to hypnotize a person without their knowledge unless you have effectively disabled their critical faculties, as by brainwashing, sleep deprivation for several days, torture, prolonged severe stress, or use of drugs etc. Women cannot be raped through hypnosis. (But they might claim it later.) For a normal healthy person, all hypnosis is self hytpnosis, a voluntary relaxation of critical interference with incoming information, and reduction of the functional levels of mental function to very primtive states. The closest thing to "imposed hypnosis", in the sense of manipulation, is NLP, an associative method of conditioning that can be understood according to theories of mental function proposed by Luria and Pavlov. For the average individual, the parallel to imposing will through hypnotic methods is best exemplified by sexual seduction. However, classical hypnotic methods tend to be empowering, and cannot overcome sexual inhibition, physiological safeguards, nor moral scruples. However, efforts to hypnpotize a person into having sex are very reliable in making them extremely angry and hostile. :-( A far more effective approach is by flowers, a nice dinner, a box of chocolates and acting in an interested and caring manner. (If you want to analyze this behaviorally, you'll notice that it involves multiple payoff contingencies. Hypnosis generally does not.) dave |

'...multiple payoff contingencies' !? :o
Dave, you Romantic you! You know that those aromas set off her endorphens so that her brain chemistry is altered! I'm so glad I grew up when we didn't know the so-called reasons behind what we were doing. ;) bets |

Ahhhhh - C'mon, ladies. Now that we knowa little more about what to do and how to do it, surely matters have improved. Reminds me of someone's limierick-
The was a gay fellow named Bloom Took a lesbian up to his room, Then they spent the whole night In a hell of a fight, 'bout who does which, with what, and to whom. And then now there's PUL - solves all that stuff. However, I still tell my grandson that when he parties to wear a party hat. dave |
