Hi Deanna-
You might also keep in mind that those who go out of their way to be intimidating and hostile do so because they fear to be any other way. Like a military leader who comes to mind, when things seem threatening they bluster, puff up, rattle their swords and pistols and try to be twice as big as they are, while feeling about a half that size in fact. A really simple alternative approach might be to tell the "voice" that no matter how ugly and threatening it is, you still love it because you know that it is a manifestation of God, just as is everything else in creation, and God doesn't make junk. That means that it is lovable and worthy, even if it was unaware of that fact. Therefor, it can stop all the bravado and being unpleasant and just go on into the light where it will find the security that it's trying to find here. It isn't a totally foolproof solution, but it can't make things worse. I've used this approach with other spooks that were trying to be big and nasty, and they generally get the message and go away. It sometimes helps to suggest that the spirit ask for a friend in the light to reach down, verify that it's OK there, and give them a hand to go there. I sometimes tell them that they can return if they don't like being in the light. So far none have come back. PUL dave |

I agree with Dave that you can tell the spirit to look for the light, and say that is where it belongs. Clearly tell it to leave with no hesitation or doubt. Be as firm as you need to be without anger. It worked for me about a month ago. I don't hear voices but I was temporarily overcome by a very negative presence. I spoke to it out loud. That is what worked.

This thread reminds me of a time my daughter still laughs at me about...she came and woke me up at some awful hour of the night, because there was a spirit in her room giving her grief. I told her to tell it to go to the light, everything would be all right, etc. She said she'd done all that and it basically told her it didn't want to (she doesn't get precise words, but she said the feeling was unmistakable).
I'm not a pleasant person when rousted out of bed at four in the morning...I went stomping up the stairs, stuck my head into her room, tenatively identified the spirit as the one that had tried several years before to convince me not to finish "it's" attic, and bellowed "You!! Git!!". ("git" in this case being "get out of here", not a personal description, for those not in the American mid-west...) It gitted. I had told all the spirits when we first came here they were allowed to stay, as long as they didn't pester, but getting me up out of a sound sleep is beyond the pale. |

I agree with Dave.
Onetime I experienced what I thought to be a hostile presence. I was feeling paranoid that night and in a forceful way I told it to leave. That night I had a dream which told me that I was wrong to do so. I felt so bad about taking the approach I took. I felt like crying. I felt like a confused spirit came for my help, and I chased it away. I don't know if it heard me, but I apologized to it, sent it some love, and told it to go to the light. I vowed that from then on if a seemingly unfriendly spirit came my way, I would try to help it see the light within itself and cross over. |
