Title: Holiday gift preparations for ALK Post by betson on Oct 5th, 2006 at 1:56am
Greetings,
With holidays around the corner I wanted to give you all someting that will bring you some merriness for the season. Please accept with my gratitude and warm wishes these tickets to the Bruce Moen Theatre, Hampton Roads, Nearyou. You will also find in the red satin envelope an invitation to produce one or more of your own threads, hopefully giving yourself a starring role as well as directorship. If Mell Gibson can do it, so can we. Bruce and Pharron will be seated in the box of honor, with several of their guests; they all look so handsome up there, shimmering in lovliness but sometimes dissappearing briefly. We salute you Bruce and dedicate this theatre to you! Through imagining, the initial structure has been built, but may be adapted for our threads’ performances as we see fit. What we have to start with is a rather tall building with a performance area high enough to suit the Cirque deSoleil as well as your threads dealing with as many as 35 focus levels in one plot. The entire interior is an anti-gravity chamber, allowing the performances to take place on many levels at once without the awkwardness of catwalks or harnesses. Special lighting effects are provided by Spiritual Guidance. Handmade sets have been painted by madsketcher, spooky, and guest artist craig from liverpool. Photographic and halographic techniques will also be used; please sign up if you’re available to work in these technical areas. Sound stage and soundboard are in the professional hands of Caryn. Props and special effects have been stored below and are ready for many styles of productions, from Shakespearean to surreal. The orchestra pit is equipped with intruments that range from ethereal to blues, folk to stomp. We hope that your generous donations and recommendations will help these collections grow. Thanks to the bi-location abilities of some of the mainstays of our staff, finding musicians from among the regular acting ensemble should not be too difficult. To kick off the holiday season the first production will include as masters of ceremony Dave-a-mbs and Doc M. Newwayknight, cricket, and cathy b will play the mounted forces of righteousness, chosen in part because they already have the armour or horses needed. Psuedo-villains will be led by Chumley B Man, but his won’t be a speaking part as his armour is made with duct tape which totally covers his mouth. His role is one of the most interesting, however, as his character shows the most change amid much courage. Mairlyn , juditha, and deanna will be seen mainly in the higher realms, where their costumes have the most ethereal affects when streaming through the breezes. A ‘Peter-pan’ style harness may be necessary for laughing-rain after all, not to help her fly but to slow her down. Her personal net-catcher is Cosmic Ambitions. Backstage right in the shadows is the laboratory of the spooky wizard who has many roles. When he is not preparing a new treatise to explain the narrators orations, he may come forward to provide a musical interlude. Dressed in a violet irridescent robe with silver trim he is ready for any eventuality. He is also busy brewing refreshments in his lab, a green viscous liquid drink with fumes that look like chloride but are really arising from a beaker of lime juice and honey. Amazingly the one beaker is able to fill all the audience’s glasses and everyone fully enjoys these ‘limettes.’ If your name has not yet been mentionned, please add to this thread by volunteering or providing recommendations on what previous thread you wish to appear in. Rehearsals will have to start soon so that the season will be one full of laughter, love, and accomplishment! |

Very creative Betson!!! I haven't even started preparing for Thanks-giving let alone Christmas........anyhow........Tis the season just around the corner (The carols are starting to play in the shopping malls so I can't ignore it, might as well face it).
May I volunteer to be the sweet- natured pixie who spreads good- will, love, harmony, joy and cheer to all by means of blowing her colorful, glittery ,scented (perhaps cranberry scented) fairy dust amongst the crowd ?Otherwise, I could just be one of those door greeters...ala "Walmart"(an American thing). Seasons greetings and Yule Tide Joy.......Love Baby_duck (who is attempting to get in touch with her child-like creative side ). P.S. Speaking of fairies; I'd like to be like the following fairy (the poem is cool too!): Out of the confines of a foggy moon Arises a fairy with a timeless tune If she comes to visit your den Show her you have a kind pen She is a pixie who loves to rhyme Who thinks in other eons of time When people were gracious of speech Good manners were always in reach She comes swiftly like a carefree sprite Always joyous both day and night Her ambition is to spread happiness She is known to fill some with giddiness There are times when she must embark In her sultry side to play in the dark Only a few are allowed to see her there It is not the side with goodness to spare She knows all are born with duality of nature There isn't anyone with faultless stature There is evidence man did not understand good Only with bad to measure could it be understood Our struggle will continue between these two The fairy can be the means of bringing joy to you We live in a chaotic universe that is ever changing It's good to be prepared for all the rearranging Since no one knows for sure what the outcome will be Fairy wends her way around dusting you and me When emotions stir us up and we don't know why It's most likely the fairy blowing stardust in our eye Sometimes we don't understand why the lovebug bites It's probably, you know who, she's a sensuous sprite So be sure to have your welcome mat out to greet her She will make your dreams come true in the aether (artist unknown) P.P.S I was told I was a fairy in one of my lives! :-* |

Thank God for duct tape. Just kidding Chumley, you do have a lot of courage to keep on sticking around. There must be something here for you that draws you back. And I'm very happy about that. I feel you placed me a little too high but will try to live up to this. ;-) Quote:
Perfect casting. LOL Love You, Mairlyn ;-) |

That is a nice gift to our place here you gave to us Betson. I of course am very pleased with my part. (I'm sure though B-man will burst when taped!) I wiz the best I can to serve you all well lol! I was all the way smiling while reading it.
Actually, it makes me remember of a little story from my mind-journeys which is mirroring a desire of mine. I was in a kind of flight with others, we were a team, and we were very close to each other in the greatest friendship imaginable, no one could break our team. Each of us had special abilities, everyone of us knew for sure about his/her abilities, that they are great and needed. And every other knew about the special abilities of the others and appreciated them. It was so full of certainty, the certainty that we can rely on each other, that we need each other, that everyone was absolutely precious, and that we will neaver break apart, and that we are invincible and powerful. A true dreamteam. We go on flying and mastering every tasks that come our way. So, may it be! And to come back to my part Bets wrote of, I really have the wish that a drink would exist that is the drink of all drinks, which feeds you when you're thursty like no one before...(a bit like the one Tolkien wrote of, given to Merry and Pippin by the Ent in the Fangorn wood.) Baby Duck, you've seen the fairy paintings of Howard David Johnson on the web? Spooky |

I like being a mounted force of righteousness, but I must point out that I ride a black horse...hopefully this will not put me "out of character"... ;)
We also have a pale horse, but I'm thinking we don't want to go there... |

So everyone gets rolling drunk, and believe me you will not want anything else to eat or drink! and my horse is also black Cricket (she is just vertically challenged at 14 hands) love toall Cathy B |

This is coming along so very well, troupe! Your enthusiasm for your parts makes them yours immediately! :D
Just saw the puppet/people version of LionKing last night and they did a neat thing we could use with your 2 black horses, cricket and Cathy, with your permissions: keep the 14 h smaller horse in the back and the larger one in front to create a sense of distance. They didi it with 4 sizes of thundering wildebeesties or waterbuffalo and it worked great! Cricket, can we spray your pale horse a new 'theatrical' color?--Or find a virgin to ride it , all sprayed in eiderdown from a hotglue gun--great effect! I'm not the director, Cathy--looks like you are! Please keep us as harmonious as spooky's dreamteam! |

LOL at Cathy_B...Jack is 13.2, so your horse could have a rare moment of feeling tall!

That's great---more room on stage for more! :D

Title: Re: Holiday gift preparations for ALK Post by Cricket on Oct 6th, 2006 at 6:21pm
The pale horse is actually a roan and white paint (looks pale from a distance) so he's already kinda theatrical looking. If you're looking for a virgin to ride him you might have to look in another neighborhood, however...

or maybe we could gloss over the truth, after all it is a theatrical production. hence we are playing a part! so we don't need a virgin, just someone who can act the part lol!
(I'd put my hand up, but I'd probably squash the poor little thing!) Cathy |

laughingrain; Nice to meet a sister fairy. Just one question; were you a sensuous sprite? Spooky: I will be sure to check out the fairy paintings of Howard David Johnson on the web. I love faries, decorate my bedroom with pics of em and I think I may be a naughty fairy for halloween so those pics may inspire me!
Thanks, BD |
