Title: Accountable for your Thoughts and or Actions Post by rNick on Sep 8th, 2006 at 8:57am
Hi , I have been reading a number of books which say that we are accountable for every thought , how can this be, surely it must be the actions that one carriers out after having a thought. I have had many thoughts in my life as I am sure most of us have that are not for best intentions but have never carried out any actions on these thoughts. That is why I find it strange that we can be accountable for all thoughts be it bad or good.
Surely a thought is only a thought untill acted upon. |

We can watch our thoughts. Our thoughts can also be guided. However, our thoughts are not who we are. They are a transitory expression of our experience as human beings on the earth.
Our thoughts also contain our intentions imbedded within them. Are we ascending or descending? Are we looking for the light? I think that would be the thing to notice...if we allow it, we can allow ourselves to be guided to a more uplifted state of being. I think this is what makes life exciting, all the varying ways in which this can happen. much love, blink |

What most people don't realize is that their is a "soul," to begin with. This is what is meant by accountability. This is why the "life review," takes people by surprise. What often isn't appreciated is that it is NOT an outside source judging our thoughts and actions but we ourselves.
Transient thoughts, fleeting fantasies that come and go are not something to worry about. However, repeatedly indulging in base or hurtful thoughts usually results in hurtful actions. These repeated actions inflict negative karma, and our soul seeks to "make things right," by holding itself accountable. From the way I have heard/read it, when we are aware of heaven and God's love, we may feel unworthy as we review our actions. Since it is our strongest desire to move toward love and God, we therefore judge ourselves - perhaps too harshly in some cases, but the judgement is to let us move upward and be worthy of pure love. If we transcend concepts of dualism on earth, can we then move upward without a judgement, just with a sigh and a tear for what transpired in our life? I don't know. This is freeing yourself from the wheel of karma. Intellectually, I can do it in my brain. My soul must feel it in order to accomplish it. Aye, there's the rub. Matthew |

We start out as parcels of awareness that can use our creative energy to create imaginary thought Worlds. If we create something unpleasant, then we'll have to live according to it.
Last night I had a meditation. My mind was creating unpleasant sensations. I saw more than ever that regardless of how our minds make use of our creative thought energy, no matter how we make this creative energy appear, in truth it is still divine creative energy that never completely takes on the form of that which we create. Certainly the awareness aspect of our being never gets touched. We can cause it to experience different things, but it can never be touched. Love is beyond being altered. We can cut ourselves off from experiencing it, but we can never alter it. There is also the viewpoint that thought energy doesn't just come and go. If you create a negative thought, you'll end up sharing it with at least a part of the rest of the universe. But don't hit yourself over the head if you have a negative thought. If your mind is going to have the ability to function properly, then it has to have the ability to consider all possibilities, even if some of those possibilities are unpleasant. In the end what it comes down to is what we're emotionally attached to and what we believe. For example, it doesn't hurt one to believe that this planet is going to be invaded by a planet of pink frogs, if one doesn't believe that this is true. Just don't share the theory with somebody else, because somebody is liable to market it. ;) |

ALL thoughts go into the mass consciousness. This is why we are accountable for ALL thoughts. ;-) Love, Mairlyn |
