It is my understanding that only a portion of our whole being is incarnated on earth while the remainder of our being remains in the spirit world;our higher consciousness. I was wondering if a loved one  had passed on previously  and decided to riencarnate shortly afterwards, would their loved ones on earth still be able to communicate with them through thier higher consciousness which remains in heaven?

Also, when we cross over, do we eventually merge with our entire being?  Meaning the small percentage of our being that incarnates joins the higher self; therefore becoming one.

What are your thoughts on this?

Neat question!

I'm going to guess that there's some form of a loved one there to contact, minus the times they are doing their other soul-stuff, at least as long as their generation of friends and family were still on earth. But they have stages to go through that may cause them to lose some of what we remember of their last reincarnation. By the time we get there, they might have sent off a new version, but their true soul will remain. We'll be happy to see this basic soul when we get there, however, as our egos won't be involved; any love we have with them will be more of the spirit--? It'll be like they were characters in a play that we loved, and now we're seeing the true person who acted out that part.

There are stories of Jesus merging with his Other Self when he was young. So I'm assuming that that big union comes during one's last incarnation on earth.
Then there's the reunion/merging with all the Disk/ greater soul family members, as I understand it, after we return and also when the Disk is finishing up.
I'm looking forward to some hugs that are all-enfolding, with a love-energy so fine and pure that just an embrace merges the souls embracing.  ;)

Yes, you can still contact an aspect of that person even if they have reincarnated. We all have many aspects. We can also contact aspects of living people. Many times I have gone to my place in focus 27 that I created and called on Gordon Phinn to join me. Gordon and I did partnered explorations for about a year and a half. Gordon always joined me when I called for him although he didn't know it consciously.

And yes, when we cross over, we join with our soul which encompasses all past lives.
