Title: New here....
Post by vinny on Jul 31st, 2006 at 2:32pm
Hello Everyone,

Even though this is my first post, i've been visiting these forums for awhile now.  I'm very intrigued in exploring the afterlife and what to expect.  I was wondering if someone can point me in the right direction to help me explore different Focus levels?  I am a Catholic, not that it matters to anyone else, but sometimes I feel unsure about there being a Heaven to go when I pass away.  I love my family and it would hurt me greatly if I were to never see them again when they pass away.  If someone can reassure me, that would be great.  Thanks :)

Heaven is just ones interpretation of what I think is Focus 27.  Want some STRONG evidence?

It's personal experience.

How do you come about that?

The easiest way is look at the very top of this page, see the 'Future Workshop Interests'?

Sweet.

Right.

But just hanging out here is a good way to get a grasp on basic knowledge.  You might also look in the 'PE' forums a few links down from 'Afterlife Knowledge'.

Coming here was an excellent start  8-)

Vinny,

Our state of mind very much determines what we experience when we pass over.  We, quite literally are our thoughts.  This is why those with restrictive belief systems, or those who have done harm to others may have a hard time of it when they die.

For me, the best proof comes in terms of seeing how our minds can alter the present day world.  How positive intent can translate into reality.  If you PM me, I can give you some online references about this.  If we are more than our physical bodies, if their is a "soul," then the rest comes logically.

Bruce's exploring the afterlife materials and CD are a direct way to learn on your own.  The Monroe institute is another venue, but their gateway CDs may be a bit costly.

Meditation, relaxation, losing preconceived notions of what you can and can't do, are all very important in making contact.

Best to you,

Matthew

Hi Vinny,

Yes, read the FAQ, articles, and retrievals and such at the top of the website.  There is a lot of great information there that should get you pointed in the right direction.  Also read the BookClub forums, even if you may have not read any of the books yet, but we always recommend doing the book reading!   You have exactly the right questions...no wonder you are here.  Enjoy!   :)

Thanks guys, I really appreciate the info :)

DocM, if you could, I would like you to PM me some of the references you speak of.  I'll be at work all day tomorrow so I won't have a chance to look at it right away, so thank you in advance 8-)

Hello Vinny:

If you have the intent to find out about the afterlife, you're liable to find out about it. Don't expect the answers to come in the manner you think they'll come. A spiritual path can work out quite differently than we expect. If you're willing to make contact with your higher self and friends from the spirit World,  you'll get a lot of help.

I don't believe that everybody needs to explore the various focus levels. What's important while here in the physical World is to use the experience of it as a tool for spiritual growth. You'll have plenty of time to explore the spirit World when you return. Chances are you've already explored it quite a bit.

Hi Vinny,

great to have you, and also personally great to have another Catholic on the board.

I lost my father in June and have been undergoing alot of transformation and struggle with the questions you have.

Lots of good folks here have had amazing experiences...Bob Mckelvy's experiences in a hospital are downright stunning.  Lots and lots of good information and perspective, and I think you can draw comfort from all the accounts of NDE's, which have alot of scientific and verifiable aspects that confirm consciousness existing beyond the physical body.

In your and mine own tradition, there is a tremendous, tremendous legacy  in the lives of the saints that point to a power far beyond the physical world.  Mystics, miracles (including over 400 incidences of people being raised from the dead), and astounding visions.

I suggest for starters:
St. John Bosco
St. Padre Pio
St. Francis of Assisi
St. Therese of Lisieux (Most of all because her flood of miracles and activities and appearances have all occurred AFTER SHE DIED in this world)

Read up on those 4, 3 of whom are fairly modern saints.  Mindblowing stuff in there that will encourage you tremendously.  PM me or email anytime you want to discuss them or things like it.  I am a "doubting Thomas" type and struggle with all the fears that you have described, but I have also had some wonderful graces that cast plenty of doubt on my doubt!  :)
