I know that for many here Kardec´s work is just one more Belief System. But living in a country were 20 million of people truly believe his work I can bet that reading kardec´s books you’ll find many answers.   ;)Feel free to ask me about the subject. :)

I've been to many giras over the last 20 years (several friends of mine are mediums) I've felt the energy and talked with the spirits, recieved and given healings. I find the brazilian way of spiritism remarkable. I completely respect it. It's in line with my own practices. There is a slight difference in how I interact with spirits but very much the same otherwise. A friend gave a video of his circle's Umbanda healing ceremonies to some Tibetan Lamas and they said "How did you discover our secret Medicine Buddha rituals?" They were amazed at what was in common with their own practices.

Tim Africa is the source of many different branches of religions which have arrived here in Brazil. The Umbanda is the better known one. But I need to mention that Allan Kardec Spirits Doctrine doesn’t have rituals. The relationship between the SPIRITISTS (Allan Kardec) and the SPIRITUALISTS (Umbanda) is very friendly and both do respect each other and share very similar knowledge.

I've been in to a circle's Umbanda healing ceremonie and it's a very strong and real experience. Very important to those people spiritual development. Dispite it's not Allan Kardec's Spirits Doctrine.
