Title: A Glossary of Light Post by betson on Jul 4th, 2006 at 3:47pm
One of the strongest perceptions we have when first encountering spiritual realms is the wonderful quality of Light.
Perhaps it would help us to set our intent, and to build our place of rest on Focus 27, if we could better describe the qualities of light we plan to see. Would you please help build a list of light words by adding your own favorite qualities of (or experiences with) light to this thread? Definitions, descriptions, poetry or physics, memories or thoughts borrowed from other sources--all are valid. And feel free to add to a word that's already on the list. Thanks! Here's a couple to get started with. (I just borrowed the definitions from a web dictionary.) Luminous--full of light, glowing brightly Iridescent---showing luminous colors that change when seen from different angles |

Sensations or impressions of light too---
(not really definitions but part of how we perceive light) The kind of --- Light caught in waterfalls tumbling down the cliffs Light caught in fields of amber, waving grain Exploding pinpoints of light while traveling and meeting in outer realms, which we humans try to copy with fireworks Light in the eyes of a loved one |

I suppose I could just go ahead and do this....
Light---(from Yahoo) "light is electromagnetic radiation ... (Hey, aren't we all ?! :o ) ... that falls within the range perceivable to the retina." (So OK, where's the retina in the afterlife?) Light----from wikipedia: same as above with three main dimensions of light listed as wavelength (color), amplitude, and |

Hi Betsi,
I've been trying to think of other definitions but you seem to have covered most of what I could think of. One that really moved me a few years ago when I was feeling down was seeing (outside) spider webs with the sun shining on them and they were rainbows of light. It was absolutely enchanting. Also, the same day, I saw 5 bald eagles flying in a V formation which I've never heard of. If I think of anymore words for light, I'll write here again. ;-) Love, Mairlyn ;-) |
