Title: Retrieving part of self
Post by betson on Jun 26th, 2006 at 3:40pm
Bruce Moen wrote that his earlier retrievals seemed to be about parts of self that had become separated from him.  Sort of holographic but also various  aspects, not mirror images of himself.

Would a part of self need a celebration or ritual when it is retrieved in order for it to not again break away?  If it had been underappreciated or turned away originally, would bringing it back and recognizing it be enough for it to stay, or would that part slip out again if again it thought it was not accepted by the whole self?

I don't think that a part of oneself breaks away because it has been under appreciated by the total self.  This concept is a learning process, not a punishment.  And, once retrieval has been accomplished, there isn't reason to think the process can or would undo itself.

If the retrieval is done with an open heart and PUL and a person sees this part coming back to them, I don't feel that there's any way that it could be lost again.

I know that I have retrieved many aspects of myself and there's no way I could ever lose them again.

I believe that bringing the aspect back to oneself is an act of celebration. I have always asked for forgiveness from the aspect that was lost, brought it to my heart center, felt the intense love I felt for it and it for me, and then felt it reintegrate into myself. ;-)

Love, Mairlyn ;-)
