just received the 5th book and CD's. started playing the first disc on breathing and energy building and I am already finding this a chore. together with the breathing and the imagining of the energy flow my mind seems as if it's trying to do numerous things at once. I'm thinking feet, then head, then columns here and there, then clear sparkling energy and then in the end I don't know which part of the process I'm in. Does anything else in the book get more complicated than this or has Bruce put in the most difficult part first. I'm used to TM which is much simpler for relaxation but perhaps not as effective for exploration. Anybody else have these difficulties?

Did you ever think of cheating alittle or cutting corners, so to speak?  :-?  
I had that trouble of trying to think of so many things too. I changed the breathing to thinking of it just as a circle , and then tried a variation to that of thinking of breath moving as an infinity sign, like a figure 8 upright. In both these you do not inhale-exhale but sort of flow from in to out,  vaguely 'higher to lower'.  After a few days of doing that off and on, I added the other parts, one by one, several days apart.
You'll get there.

I personally can't  offer much with respect to some of your questions Evolver, but you mentioned something about "clear sparkling energy". It got me wondering... A few weeks ago, I was out in my garage feeding my cat and while walking around the garage I saw "briefly" a mass of clear bright sparkles appear in front of me. I'm still not sure as to what this was, but I definitely saw it. Maybe it has something to do with what you just mentioned in some way, shape, or form. Maybe I was subcionsciously tapping into some other form of reality that I am currently unaware of?

I use music (anything you like) to build energy and relax. It doesn't have to be classic music, but it shouldn't have text. I'm using "melodic trance", that's a sidestream of the "house" music.
Jean Michael Jarre also made this before it was known under the name of melodic trance.
By emagening that my mind drifts on these sounds I get in a trance-state within a few seconds now. (after a lot of practice) and energy building works enourmous.
I'm not familiair to the book your writing about, but I think it's about the same thing. Lift your body up to a higher energy level (keeps me from falling asleep in nightshifts).

you can try to break it into chewable pieces, and when you have practice, you can put it together again.
Try to visualize these things alltogether, like if you watching a movie in your mind, the first times with the book at hand without the "must" to go into a meditative state, just to establish this little mind movie. You may make a drawing with symbols representing the suggested actions. With visuals you can easily handle many processes which happen at the same time, this is totally different than following verbal instructions alone.

Hi Evolver and welcome!

Since everyone is different various methods work in various ways for each of us.  I have found that most methods can get us to the same place.  It is only a matter of learning to reach the higher frequency levels.  Perhaps incorporating what you are learning in Bruce's book with what you already know will work for you.

CA, I'd say you got a glimpse of the universal energy field that surrounds and feeds all living things.  We live in a sea of energy.  Using our higher senses most of us can see this energy quite easily.  It looks like little translucent balls that swirl and sometimes trail as they move about.  They also seem to disappear into living beings such as plants, animals and of course humans.

Hey there,

Just had an idea along with spookys of just practising on your own with the CD's at this moment. Just lay down and do Bruces 3x3 breaths technique on your own and feel really relax and notice the changes in your body, start to feel them, let them build up. Your main and only concentration being on your breathing. Then when you feel comfatable and in a relaxed state (give it at least 10 minutes) imagine like Bruce descibes energy coming in from your feet, forget about the breathing now. Don't try and see anything, don't even look at the blackness behind your eyelids, just relax and feel it coming in with every breath you take in, feel it slowly building up slowly entering new parts of your body, always coming in from the feet. The way i do it is say you breath in some and imagine it feel up your feet, then ankles, then shins etc. Slowly and slowly build up, some parts you may take a few minutes doing, sometimes you might have to go back.

After doing this it will become natural and then maybe try with the CD's again and see how it goes now you know and feel comfatable with what you are doing.

I hope that helps and is broke down a bit so you can try on your own first.
