My friend recently told me this story, I found it quite interesting:

He said that he had just moved into his new house with his wife and was extremely exhausted and that that night's sleep was very restful to him. But when he woke up his wife was visibly shaken and so asked her what was wrong. She said that during the night she saw him rise from the bed and leave the room, except he went straight through the walls. Then she looked back down at the bed to see his physical body still there.

Have any of you heard of someone being able to see another person's astral body? (is this the right term?)

Many years ago when I were but a small boy I read this story in the paper, and I apologise in advance because I can't remember the specifics, but anyways it was about this mother and daughter one of them was badly ill in bed (the mother I think) and they lived on opposite sides of the world. One night the daughter really wished to go see her mother and it happened, obviously some form of OBE, but I think the mother even in her ill condition reported seeing or knowing her daughter was there.

Hey senote, the same thing you that described happened to one of my relatives. His grandmother was a couple of days away from dying and he had left his body (unpurposefully) to help her with her transition to the other side... Apparently he escorted her to a sort of light portal/window at which time they separated and she passed on through the light. What was odd was that his grandmother's daughter (his mom) was their by her side before she passed on, and the grandmother had said that she saw him; and that he would help her; and that everything would be alright. After asking him why he had to help her, he said that he was telepathically communicated to that she was afraid and that she needed his help.
