Title: Is there a mother god?
Post by baby_duck on Jun 13th, 2006 at 8:31am
Hello everyone:

I have read many of Sylvia Brownes' books. In many of her books she states that there is in fact a mother god by the name of Azna. She is the ruler of emotions and father god ;Om, is the ruler of logic. Sylvia states that we were created in the image of god. Just as there is a yin to every yang.....we are made up of dual polarities.....twin flames....each one of us has another half which is the opposite gender that we are currently incarnated as (although we are separate and have unique indentities and we dont need the other to complete us). Sylvia states that god has another female half....this was commen knowledge centuries ago.....however....due to a predominantly patriarchal society....this info has been extinquished and surpressed since the resurection of christ. How many people believe in the mother god Azna?.......It makes perfect sense to me!

Well, I have never heard of this before but it certainly is an interesting concept and certainly probable.

What is Sylvia Browne`s evidence for there being a mother God?

Personally, I don`t believe there is, but then my interpretation of God isn`t as a person/s sat on high looking down on us all. We are all interconnected and are, therefore, part of God as a whole.

Also, why would we need to have a counterpart of the opposite gender while we are currently incarnated? What purpose does it serve?

From past life regressions I have no doubt that we have, at some time, all been of the opposite gender to what we are today. That makes more sense to me to enable us to develop spiritually during our many (re)incarnations by experiencing things that both sexes have encountered.

I believe that God is both masculine and feminine. When I pray, I pray to Mother/Father/God/Goddess  I have never heard of Azna. Perhaps this is another name for the feminine aspect of God but I don't know.

If one wants to divide everything including the highest realms of consciousness into two principles (or even genders) then I ask what sense does it make to divide God, the synonym for the whole, into two?
Where we notice different principles, we can use this differentiation. But we shouldn't substancialise and generalize it too much.

Spooky, I don't feel that is dividing God. God has always been referred to as he or him when in actuality IMHO, God is masculine and feminine. And the blending of these two makes a WHOLE.

Hi i think God is a loving living spirit , he is within us,around us and watching over us all the time as, our father which art in heaven, because we are spirit ,gods kingdom is spirit and his love is unlimited towards all of us,we are children of our father the divine spirit ,so he must be male because ,the lords prayer says ,our father and when i speak to god i always call him father god...love and god bless you juditha
