Title: successes with Hemi-Sync? Post by your_mum on May 31st, 2006 at 7:06pm
To what degree have you been successful with Hemi-Sync, and would you reccommend these overly-commercialised "Astral Projection in 20 minutes!!!!" things, or are they just rip offs that dont work.
thanks, |

I can't speak for any other products, but Hemi-sync CDs from the Monroe Institute are the easiest way for me to achieve specific states of conciousness.
I think they're an incredibly valuable tool for anyone who wants to learn what different states "feel" like. Once you get used to what different areas of consciousness feel like, all you have to do is remember them to entrain to that frequency again. -John |

This question might be somewhat shady, but let me explain. I come from a religious background and my wife and I are non denomintational Christians. I cannot justify spending $500.00 on something that I want to do but pretty much everyone I know would frown on (buying the Hemi-Sync Voyage CDs). It would be a hardship for my wife and I, we would have to talk about it for a while, and she would become alarmed about the direction my spiritual searching was heading in.
If anyone would be so kind as to be willing to burn me copies of these CDs, I would be very grateful and interested in talking to you. My email is pratekya@inbox.com. I have read all of Bruce's books and am starting to think this would really help me get started. Thank you. Think of it like this - you would be helping a fellow explorer get started.... |

I tried the hemi-sync, it not bad, the obe expercience is very hard to achieve, but you can download from, file sharing network, to see if they actually work for you, and then you can make a decision to buy.

Its a reasonable suggestion that you have made, but unfortunately I'm too worried about installing a virus on my computer to use those sites/services. :-/

I can recommend Hemi-Sync, it works. Gateway Voyage of course is the main thing.
But, as far as I know, OoBEs are rare, even with hemi-sync. Btw, the TMI is dependent on the selling of their recordings, so if you have the money, buy it instead of just get it for free somewhere, not to mention possible audio quality lacks. Spooky |

your_mum, I don't see any hemi-sync tapes or CD's at The Monroe Institute that are

I'm sure you're referring to other types of tapes/CD's that use the same techniques. Hemi-Sync is a registered trademark for Robert Monroe's tapes/CD's. ::) Love, Mairlyn |

Well I just noticed a very strange thing. of all the people who claim to achieve OBE, are on average they are over 40, or just have the ability, it looks like as the older you get, your link to this world is breaking down slowly but surely.

Koda--
I started doing OBEs as a child-- at the age of 6 or 7. So not everone has to wait until they are old! The Monroe CD's and tapes are a TOOL ---not a sure fix. I have all of the Gateway CD's and approximately 20 CD's and Tapes by the Monroe Institute. Each course/CD is geared to direct you in a specific direction. The Metamusic has no verbal instruction and is wonderful to assist in relaxing and bringing you to a state of meditaton with greater ease. The rest is up to you. Some Gateway participants were disappointed that they hadn't expierence greater states of mind during the week long course. Do the verbal CD's and tapes work? YOU make them work because you work with them. I don't have concious OBE's each time I listen to the CD's. AND this has NOTHING at all to do with your religious upbringing. When you pray---it is a form of meditation. When you jog---its a form of meditation. When you are swimming laps--it's a from of meditation. Your body and mind certainly don't care what religious belief you have when you are sleeping or meditating. Some of the Monroe CDs have been down loaded to Godzila and other on line down load programs. You would be able to burn yourself a CD from the computer. Bruce's CD's are verbal and have no hemi-sync music in the background. These instructions also are a great tool and help aid the meditation state. The best thing to do during the meditation is to "let go". Good luck. Love and Light--Carol Ann |

I found this,
http://www.mininova.org/tor/157187 Click on "Hemi-Sync - Complete Gateway Experience.torrent" and save this, then open with a bittorrent client. I suggest uTorrent, it is only one file. Ehm, just another way to obtain them, if you don't mind not paying. |

All this Torrent talk and P2P file sharing stuff is very illegal. And if the people you're stealing from DEPEND on this income, you shouldn't be talking so freely about it.
See the 'IP Logged' at the bottom of everypost? Yeah... umm.... might want to cut it out or take it to PM. :-X |

Is taking away from the livelyhood of others, the spirit with which to begin one's spiritual explorations?

Thanks for the replies and insight. I've decided to not try the options. No I don't think this is traceable back to my IP, since I'm at work and there are alot of us here. Nor have I admitted any wrongdoing. And I can access the bittorrent file from home, but haven't (nor at work - I haven't downloaded anything at this point). However I agree, sadly, that this is not morally right, and I shouldn't be augmenting a spiritual search with stealing. Its just a bummer that this costs so much; I wonder if it really does cost this much to develop the sound effects?
After searching, I've found an initially free alternative ($40 total after a month) that won't be as good no doubt, but may give me something I'm looking for, something to help me along the way. Additionally I'll have no way of associating different focus levels with different experiences (assuming I have some). But whatever, we'll see what happens. I'm sorry for injecting my own desires to take something that's not mine into our discussion. http://www.bwgen.com/ |

hey pratekya
there's no need to apologise whatsoever- bringing your personal feelings into any matter on this site can only be a good thing, and i might try what is on your link :D:D. i also want to mention that i think your decision not to download illegaly is laudable. (i've never done it, honest :D) thanks to everyone for your replies :D |

Molta--I meant no disrespect. Perhaps you always had money as a means to purchase what you wanted. I haven't always had that luxury, and understood your_mum's delima. I think that Mozilla is a pay as you go down-load sight. If it isn't, my apoligizes.

Oh, you didn't offend me. I was just saying, if somone skimmed over this and decided they weren't going to stand for it, they could easily... well... they wouldn't have to worry about 'income' for quite a while ;D

Well I don't want to start a silly banter war, but most isp used shared ip address/proxy servers, so what you said is not quite possible, since half the traffic on the web is from porn, and file sharing. So if people were charged by the letter of the law, more then 99.9% of the population would be in jail.

I aggree with kodakball....don't forget the great revolutions in music came with the phillips audio cassete when people became able to copy and reach all kinds of music...same with the video technology....In addition certain things are way too expensive and if these things supposedly are made to help you increase your spirituality then something is wrong there....and don't let me start talking about the livelyhood of the big record companies or the big industries....

Title: Re: successes with Hemi-Sync? Post by your_mum on Jun 3rd, 2006 at 4:17pm
yep although its off-topic as hell i do agree that big fat capitalist record companies need to be "relieved" of "their" earnings every once in a while.

To bring it back on topic I doubt Bob Monroe is 'up there' shaking his fist thinking "dammit their ripping me off down there". I'm sure he understands that the spiritual journey of the human race comes before the profit margin of even his institute. Note I'm not advocating piracy just giving my objective opinion. While it might be spiritually wrong to take something you dont own isn't it also spiritually wrong to deprive someone of an experience because they can't afford it? |

yeah TMI supposedly only makes money to keep itself going, and is really there to help further spiritual development.
