Title: Methods used for retrievals
Post by identcat on May 21st, 2006 at 2:26pm
A fellow TMI Gatewayer asked:

This is a wonderful moment for you, how did you do this? Were you using any
of the Monroe cd's
or did you go into a trance state on your own? Of course this may not be too
important but I thought it would be relevant.

First--- I trained in Transendental Meditation at age 26 (I am now 56).   TM's method is; sitting in an upright position (don't slouch), cross the legs, place the hands on your lap (Up if you want to receive energy. Down if you wish to retain your own energy). Close the eyes and say a mantra.  A mantra is a word (should be sanscrit) with an  -----ING----- at the end.  Sha-zam , used by Gomer Pyle and I think Captain America, is a mantra.  So if you take Sha and add ing ---that's TM.  As you repeat the mantra over and over "in your mind", you will begin to relax and feel stress actually lift up from your physical body. Then your mind will wander---- you will see images. Maybe images of the days events, maybe recollections of childhood, or a movie you saw.  When you realize that your mind is wandering, go back to the mantra and start saying it over again.

I paid big bucks to learn that simple lesson.  Anyhow--- As soon as I shut my eyes while I'm sitting up--- my body goes into a relaxed "mind awake, body asleep" state. Sometimes I do this when I'm on my 20 minute break at work.  When I revisited Glorieska, I was sitting in my seat on the plane.  As soon as I felt relaxed, I took a deep breath (as per Bruce Moen's lessons) and stated my intent (inside my head) to revisit Glorieska.  I rememberd the steps that Bruce mentions in his book "The Afterlife Knowledge Guidebook" (and exercise CD's) http://www.afterlife-knowledge.com/start.html.  I like his method of deep breathing and taking in energy --- much like the REBAL.  I bring in the energy from both above and below and let it meet at my heart chakra in the center of my chest  then let the energy "recycle".  I ask for a guide and state my intention.  Then the rest just comes with no effort. I think it's because 1: I have meditating, lucid dreaming and astral traveling since I was a kid. 2: I TRUST myself and my guides.  I always was reluctent to ask the Spirit guides and Helpers to assist me for any personal gain.  It's like praying for someone else to get better and not thinking that you, yourself are worth healing.  But not in a myrterdom way.  However, I did send out a mantra-prayer/affirmation to get the current job I have now. In return (it is important to give something back) I promised I would continue with my learning about spirit and share my expierences with those who cared to listened. I have had this job at Verizon for 19 years now and get paid almost $25 an hour. I kept my promise and Spirit kept theirs.

I have been told that I'm an old spirit.  It doesn't "feel" that way. I have so much to learn. I feel inferior because I only have an Associates Degree and my vocabulary is limited due to my dyslexia with spelling.  The inate knowledge is here inside this memory/mind and I use simple language to express it. We are all given our limitations while here on the earth plane.  Read my book (you must have microsoft word to read the CD) and you will see the many challanges I faced because I was brought up Roman Catholic and my parents were VERY strict with me. I had to fight my spritual way up every day when I was a kid. I have been learning for 56 years!
In December I hope to attend a seminar by Caroline Myss in Lenox, Massachusetts called Channeling Grace.  I have read three or four of her books.  (I keep giving them out after I read them as gifts, so I can't remember if it's four or not). I try to expand ALL areas of my spirituality.

Take care of yourself ---physically and spiritually.   Love and Light --Carol Ann

Thank you Carol Ann for telling this.
I've never worked with mantras, so I have to give it a try, every method to calm the mind I must try cause mine is veeery active and always talking!
Got to get more receptive, rely on the helpers, as you do it.
A sort of "active" method I often use for getting rid of the everyday-talk-and-think is to do a sort of exercise, like imaginating walking in my room or flying around in the neighbourhood, it works very fast, but a negative side-effect is your mind stays too active-busy and connected to the physical body, at least in my case.
And yes, trust is important. Unfortunately, it's difficult to train I've found- you have it or not.

Spooky-- When I attended TMI, one of the participents there said she "told" her Mr. Chatterbox mind to be silent or quiet, and she would but Mr. Chatterbox aside so she could concentrate.  My mind is always so very busy "talking" that I have finally tried the method and occasionally it does work.   TM has helped me the most to quiet my Mr. Chatterbox mind.  Thanks for your response.--cat

Hi, good tip, just like Bruce speaks with parts of his belief system. I now remember I imaginated once my talkative part to be a radio and then I turned the volume off- was effective too. I only have to recall this methods in the right moment!
