I had an interesting experience while on vacation in Kaua'i, Hawai'i last week.

I was asleep in bed next to my wife. I thought some disturbance woke me up and I looked at the clock and it said 12:30am. I fell back "asleep."

What I perceived as sometime later, my wife woke me up screaming. She was having a nightmare. I looked at the clock and it said 12:30am!

I even checked the clock to make sure it hadn't stopped and asked her what time it was after she calmed down. I concluded that my earlier waking was a dream but very strange that I dreamed I woke at 12:30am to only wake later at that exact time.

Any thoughts?

It looks to me like you were still dreaming when you thought you looked at the clock and saw the time.

For the past few weeks, I've been dreaming that I've looked at the clock, seen a time and then woke up around the time I saw but it was much later. Looks like it's catching.

That's the same conclusion I came to. The first time when I thought I was looking at the clock because something woke me up, I was dreaming.

But when my wife actually woke me up screaming because of her dream it was the exact same time as when I looked at the clock in the dream, 12:30am.
