What is the difference between the two of them? According to Gordon Smith, by many the best medium alive, a ghost is just a footprint, a moving image of someone or something that repeats itself in  certain places due to events that took place and left their marks there. So it has to do mostly with  a specific place. It is mentioned many times that places can keep a record of events that took place in that location. So I don't think you can communicate with a ghost.

Perhaps when bruce mentions ghosts as dead people he actually means spirits. It is true that most of people if they  see a  spirit they will refer to it as ghost and not as a spirit. However there must be a difference there.

Thats also how i saw it, ghosts are mearly a "movie clip" burnt so strong on our environment that we can see it do the same thing over and over again. Such as say walk through the corridor etc. It is specific to the spirit who left the image, such as the house they live in before they past or had done all their lifes.

Its easily confused though i feel, because the only way to really determine if it is a spirit or a ghost is whether you can make contact. You could say its a spirit because the ghost does many things, but how big is the movie clip? we dont know.

If you can make contact then you are most certainly dealing with a spirit. Some spirits just like us, cant see the other side, for them thats us. So they continue round without relising i guess, although you would of thought after so many years! But if they are distressed, looking for someone for example, plus there is "no time" over there then that can easy happen.

So basically thats what a retrival is if you have heard of this? making contact and moving them on, making them relise their situation and letting them cross over properly, being nice about it though oviously!

Well hope that explains a bit, although i could be completly wrong but thats my beliefs out there for you all.
