Title: Expiration Date
Post by Cosmic_Ambitions on Apr 25th, 2006 at 2:55am
I have heard two opposing viewpoints:

1.) Our date of departure from this planet is chosen before we enter the E.L.S..

2.) We subconsciously choose our moment of departure based on our closness too, or achieving of, existential completism.

(Or are both of these interwoven?)

Thanks for any input,

PUL,

I believe that we see, time and again that as conscious beings with a divine spark, we have free will.  As such, I think part of ourselves would have to be in agreement about the departure, however there are some notable exceptions.

When energy of multiple incarnate beings interacts, there are bound to be casualties of colliding paths.  Tsunamis, nuclear explosions, random acts of nature and planned acts of men will cause their energy to interact with ours.  Hence, some will die not having done what they were set out to do.  One can not plan on these random events, they simply are.

Marilyn had once posted she heard we all had multiple exit points along our existence to choose from.  That sounds interesting.

I don't believe in fatalism.  There are too many examples of how we are able to make choices, use our free will all the time, for better or worse.

Thanks DocM,

Those are all interesting points to note.

I agree with you as well:

" I don't believe in fatalism.  There are too many examples of how we are able to make choices, use our free will all the time, for better or worse."

I also found Marilyn's thoughts about "multiple exit points along our existence" to be extremely thought provoking.

These all seem quite tangible,
